According to BJ on the Return of the Racers blog on CBS.com, Amazing Race All Stars will be the final season.

"The Eiffel Tower and NYC: bringing back some Season 1 destinations to Season 10, before the last season ever starts airing next year... It's been a good run. Fangs for the memories, Bert."

Has anyone else heard anything of this? This is terrible news if it's true. Does this mean Tyler and James are the last new team to win Amazing Race ever?

I know your hearts all skipped a beat upon reading that, but don't worry, it appears to be a false alarm at this moment. Upon a further internet search that took .6 seconds, I noticed that on the CBS.com homepage they have a link to the application for The Amazing Race 12. So have no fears, they are still casting for a twelfth season and it looks like the show will continue. However, this doesn't mean the twelfth season is for sure, since CBS didn't pick up the eleventh season until they had already narrowed down the applications to the final interviews. So we won't know for sure for a while, I fear.

Dudes, I hate to post three times in a row, dudes, but I just found more All Stars goodies, dudes.

Scroll a little ways down. There are a few pictures from someone who happened to run into Team Guido in Ushuaia, Argentina, who were headed to South Africa, camera crew in tow. So Team Guido is for sure in the race, and since Ushuaia is typically the place through which you can get down to Antarctica, I'm going to assume this race covers all seven continents.

The best thing about James' father's eyebrows is that James shares his genes so may well be seeing his bleak future.

Aside from that, this season has shown that the game hasn't run out of steam yet, so I really do hope it has the ratings to keep on going.

Really? You all think that was a good season? I guess I just don't get the appeal of this show. Just a bunch of people running from point A to point B and performing tasks while being timed. I thought it was pretty boring. :(

Uh oh. Chip of Chip and Reichen says All Stars is the final season. That's two past racers saying this now. I'm getting worried. Wouldn't make any sense, since ratings actually climbed this season, but maybe Bertram just wants to do some other stuff. Or Phil needs a PhilNap.

Yeah, it was a good season. There were good moves, bad moves, an underdog team for everyone to root for, a strong team that split the audience between lovers and haters. But if you don't like the concept, then you're not going to like it regardless. :)
But the way you descibed it makes it sound like it's a sport. I hope we don't start getting play by play and colour commentators.

Well, it better not be the final season because I now know two teams applying for season 12, and all four people have very interesting backgrounds and personalities, which gives them good shots at getting noticed. Hopefully one team makes it, and hopefully it's the team made up of my best friend and his sister, since I'd be more likely to see some of the money if they won. Or at least my Christmas presents from him would be better. If they start advancing in the team-selecting process, I'll keep you updated.

Saw this posted on Digitalspy forums

CBS

On the Bubble: The Amazing Race (if it can’t find a spot in the fall, it could come back next summer)

Hope it does find a spot, i hope this isn't the end.

Apparently after the Romber ouster it jumped to #12 in the ratings for that week.
