Yes, I'm excited. It's not that I think The Hills is the best show out there, but I can't stop watching the car wreck! I wish the best for Lauren though. I'm always cheering for her even though I don't think she has made some good guy choices and needs to grow up a bit.

I definitely did NOT think The Hills was better than Laguna Beach until the last season of Laguna Beach, which was complete and utter crap, and now I am certainly giddy with anticipation at seeing a character I love (LC!) and a character I love to hate (Heidi) but actually kind of just love. If they ever try to pull the old switcheroo on this show and make all the characters loser wannabes like Kami and Kyndra then it will suck too. But for now, I am embarrasingly excited. :blush:

I am thinking more along the lines of "Fendi"...that name is so fetch. Although poor Heidi doesn't realize it yet but if the baby is her's and Jordan's, with that genetic bank to draw from, it's unlikely to make it into the second trimester.

Aguifan--I only suspect a Heidi pregnancy because one of the promos shows Heidi reading a pregnancy test in the bathroom...however, it could be a misleading scene. My fingers are crossed, though.

WOW! So I watched the new episode and what en effing tool J-Wahl is--when your girlfriend comes by to give back your stuff post breakup, you ought to have something better to say then, "Golf clubs!" Anyway, it seems that since last season Heidi gained a few IQ points which have helped in every area but her choice of men and relationship practice--I am very excited for this season!

i saw that too, Tink, b/c I wanted to decide whether I'll bother to watch it---I won't. I liked watching the dancers do their thing---some of those guys are so talented! Very impressive. (I liked Nolan's look, the guy w/ the fedora & black vest, worked at the jean store). Also, the black girl had a good look to her, very pretty. But I ddn't understand the premise exactly---these people try out, J-Lo says nay or stay (she cut everyone, except one guy, Kenny), & then you'd think it'd be over, that they would move on to another audition. But instead the previews show them meeting up w/ J-Lo again, for more auditions, i guess? I also thot the part where that one girl, Jersey (ugh, how original) got off the phone with her mom and then walked over to the empty audition room, where the cameras just happened to be set up already, to do her routine, was cheesy. Also, didn't she miss the audition b/c of car trouble?? why did she even need the car when she seemingly could've just walked there? (i know the car could've broken down further away but still...)

my b/f & i noted that if we ever saw Marc Antony out on the street with that look he was sporting while watching the dancers (long blue hat, greasy hair, lots of facial), we would easily mistake him for a homeless dude. :scared:

Theory B) I actually heard Lauren on the radio the other day, and she says the real reason she didn't go to Paris is that "they" would have required that they film her and she really needed a break from filming all the time. She sounded sincere, but who knows with these people.

I have to say, so far, this season is WAY better than last. A few comments:

1) Even though Heidi's fake-out pregnancy scare talk with Spencer was a pretty bitchy move, given that Spencer is a douchebag supreme, I thought it was overall fantastic!

2) Lauren's conversation with Brody about how her smile is straight across and not curved and therfore creepy was odddly hilarious to me. Seemed like a real conversation a normal person would have on a date. Not like her old grunts and stares with J-Wahl.

3) Ashley Paige is a psychopath and I loved her! I also loved that for once LC didn't screw up a work thing and Whitney was the one looking like a lost lamb.

Spencer reminds me of a few deuchebags who would try to date all my girlfriends. Except he's got a balloon head. Thank god Heidi wasn't pregnant...imagine those two spawning off (and I like Heidi, she's cute, but not mother material). It was Heidi's birthday. Episode called "Best Night Ever".
Well "The Best Night Ever" sucked!
Heidi acted like the girls from "My Super Sweet 16". BUT SHE'S 22!
Running around like a stupid girl (tiara included!) and acting out towards Audrina. We still don't know what happened between those two but Audrina is trying her best to take the high road. While Heidi seems perfectly content to be silly!

Then there's Grody Brody! He acts like its such a priviledge for Lauren to be going out with him. Anyone as cool as he THINKS he is wouldn't be Spencer's friend! Spencer's a dweeb!

With everything going on, the show was still able to be quite boring!

This show is so stupid... I Love it!

This season is kicking last season's ass! I have this terrible conflict though because Spencer is perhaps the biggest tool (am I allowed to call him that? I am not in LA, so maybe it's permitted?) EVER and so I cannot fathom how Heidi could share a CAB with him much less her mucous membranes, yet I am somehow adoring her more and more! Unfortunately even after his inane fight with Heidi's coworker ("dude, Heidi dresses cute!") and joining Team Playboy and thus breaking her heart, I am pretty sure she is nowhere near done with him.

BTW, did anyone else think LC was wasted when she was talking to Spencer on the phone at the end of the show? I mean, the empty wine bottle on the table assisted in my suspicions, but she was way more loose and chatty than usual.

Also, shockingly, I think LC and Heidi are actually really good friends to each other. Which is rare for reality friendships, no?

Ugh...unfortunately at the end of this week's episode she did just the opposite. Unless next week's episode starts with her pushing an unconscious Spencer and his car off a cliff, my newfound love of Heidi may have topped off. Of course, after reading the Stuff magazine "article", she is clearly still with him.

Anyway, the best part of the episode was Emily, super-intern. How scripted is this show?!? The producers were CLEARLY feeding this girl flower names in her earpiece, but whatever, it was hilarious. And LC's face when the Lovemeister invited Emily to stay for dinner and told her and Whitney to leave was priceless. I bet the dinner sucked anyway.

Oh, and the music rocked this episode. Sia and the Oohlas?! Fantastic!

You're right. Lauren needs to have confidence at work and with men and with her friends. She seems to get walked on in every aspect of her life which is a shame because she is such a beautiful girl.

I plan a lot of events for my job - so I have a bizarre knowledge about venues and menues and seating arrangements and stuff. If Emily has to set up a lot of those dinners that could explain her knowledge of flowers. Plus, if she is from a well-to-do family like Lauren is, it is possible that she has been helping with these sorts of arrangements her whole life.

So yesterday my husband and I were watching MTV and a promo for the Hills came on (he doesn't watch the show) and Spencer was on the screen, not even SAYING anything and my husband said, "Who is that guy?!? He seems like a supreme tool!" which just goes to show that Spencer's douchiness is apparent just by looking at him.

That being said, I didn't think I could hate him more, but last night he crossed the line by yelling at our girl LC. We as viewers have known LC for years now and we have only known him for a couple of unfortunate, roach-infested months. He is a virus in Heidi's life and his intentions with her became clear last night. She has star potential (well, at least more than him) and he sees her as his meal ticket in Hollywood so he is latching on to her and trying to separate her from everyone else in her life so she needs him. i cannot believe heidi is still dating this douche either. the way he spoke to LC last night was so rude and uncalled for at this point. Last nights epi was infuriating! Heidi is totally on my shit list now. And next week, oh god, I know I'm gonna be sooo pissed. Its looks like Heidi's gonna set Jen up on a date with Brody. I am so beyond disgusted with Heidi. I used to think she wasn't all bad but it's become pretty clear that she's just an idiot.

First, how fucked up is it give Lauren those flowers and say Spencer got them for her and then tell Lauren it was a joke? Joke, my ass. She meant to mislead her and that's exactly what she did, own up to it Heidi. And Spencer's comments to Brody about how he wouldn't spend a dollar on her made me want to smack him. He's so obviously sexist and thinks that women are only there to serve him. Second, Lauren tries to get her out of the club because her scumbag boyfriend is hitting on another girl yet again and she just stands there and let's Spencer treat Lauren so disrespectfully. If it wasn't for her his giant head wouldn't be on TV anyway, he should be thanking her. And then after that whole thing Heidi stays and consoles Spencer? She's the worst kind of girl there is - the kind that constantly picks their boyfriend over their best friend. I hope she's kicking herself in the head as she rewatches the episodes and sees how stupid she looks.

Brody Jenner says he's "horrified" by a profile written about him in the new issue of Details magazine.

In the article, Jenner and his best friend/manager, Spencer Pratt, are characterized as scheming to make Jenner famous – partly by dating or befriending famous people, including Nicole Richie, who Jenner briefly dated.

"Here's what you're gonna do. You're gonna start dating Nicole Richie. And you're gonna get that skinny bitch to eat, all right?," Pratt says, as part of the pair's alleged plan to seek fame. "You are about to become The Guy Who Got Nicole Richie to Eat. Process that s--t, bro. You'll be, like, a f---ng hero to America."

However, Jenner tells PEOPLE that the article unfairly makes him look uncaring about those he truly cares about.

"I have broad shoulders and can handle what is written about me personally but when I am misquoted or mischaracterized as exhibiting a disrespectful attitude towards someone I care about, I feel I need to clarify the situation," says Jenner. In the article Jenner also says the "whole scene" in Hollywood is fake. "It's like a movie set, like my life is a movie set. These people, they all think this is real, but it's not."

Last night's episode was the best so far! I was riveted, and felt really bad for Lauren by the end of the episode. It seems like she is a great friend, and for Heidi and Jen to treat her like that is reprehensible (not that Brody is really worth fighting over...it's more the principle of the matter) But the greatest thing was to see her finally standing up for herself! I loved when she told Jen not to be at her apartment when she got home, and when she didn't cave in at the end with Heidi. Spencer is a virus.

I feel like such a loser posting right after the episode aired, but I'll forget everything I wanted to say if I wait.

First, was it just me or was it completely obvious that just about everything in this episode happened before the whole Jenn fiasco from last week? Especially when Lauren and Audrina were talking about going out with the two guys and Audrina says "What about Brody?" I seriously doubt she would ask that question after all that shit went down.

Second, seriously Heidi, do you know the meaning of the word friend? Even if this was before Jenngate '07 and Lauren wasn't uber pissed at her, why would she do that to her 'best friend'? What's the point of calling Lauren over and over again to make sure you're gonna hang out just to leave a freakin NOTE telling her "Oh btw, I ditched you for Spencer yet again"?

Third, maybe I'm just extremely protective of my friends but it my boyfriend talked half the shit about my best friend as Spencer talks about Lauren, we wouldn't be dating anymore. Spencer displays such classic abusive relationship techniques it's like reading my Psych 101 book all over again. Seriously, possesiveness, jealousy, isolation from friends, quick temper....I wonder if my school will let me take The Hills as an independent study course?

Don't feel like a loser posting right away, feel like a dedicated fan, which is something I admire. I was watching another show right before The Hills and it ran over about 30 seconds and I freaked out, thinking I was missing part of The Hills...luckily MTV starts and ends all of it shows on a wonky schedule so I didn't miss anything.

I agree, I think it happened before last week's episode, but after the previous episode, since Spencer already knew Lauren hated him. Otherwise, I've lost major respect for Lauren because as you said, why would Brody be a consideration in her dating plans and secondly, why would she act so fake with Heidi about their friendship (unless they made up and we didn't see it)?

In Heidi's defense, Spencer is probably drugging her, which would explain how she seemed to ditch Lauren after confirming plans with her. The drugging would also explain her ability to share space and saliva with that douche.

Definitely Lo in the previews for next week...according to all the comment activity on the recap from last week and the news from Lauren's mother there, sounds like Lo is taping episodes with Lauren (maybe a Heidi replacement if Heidi moves out?!?)

Well, last night's episode was just okay...maybe I am just feeling depressed that I don't have B-Side's comments to look forward to. Seriously...I kept watching thinking, "Oh, I can't wait to read what he says about Lo's hair" and then I would realize, crestfallen, that he would say nothing because he is across the pond eating bangers and mash. But I digress...

Spencer is either retarded or just doesn't give a shit how people perceive him, because he is blatantly brainwashing Heidi more and more each day, and doesn't mind what the camera captures. I was a little disappointed too with last nights episode. Mostly I think because B-side won't be re-capping it anymore.

It was great that Lo was back. It's too bad Jenn caused trouble between Lo and Lauren. Lo is probably a normal body weight. There is nothing wrong with that. I think Heidi is really thin. Her face is so skinny!

I can't believe how much Spencer is going on and on about Lauren. I can't believe Heidi can stand to listen to him over and over again with the same thing. She seemed slightly irritated with him at dinner.

As for Lauren not saying "goodbye" to Heidi at New Years. Do they not remember ditching Lauren at Jenn's birthday? How about ditching Lauren to go to the movies? Spencer is evil. Can you believe he made that comment to Heidi about not worrying about where the house came from? That was a red flag if I ever saw one.

You can tell Lauren has not forgiven Heidi for the stuff she has done. She is very passive-aggressive towards her. I'm sure it's hard to be best friend with her again after all that Heidi has done to her. You can tell she wants to hurt Heidi for all the times Heidi has hurt her.

Lauren's best bet is to move on with her life and not worry about Heidi. She could be friends with her, but I wouldn't center my life around waiting for her to hang out. Make plans with other people and if Heidi wants to join than great. If not, oh well.

Lauren's New Year's date was cute. I was proud of her for asking him out and kissing him!

Andre Leon "discovering" Whitney and then comforting her after her embarrassing GMA fall. It was pretty endearing. It was pretty hilarious to see Lauren's first reaction to Whitney's fall was to laugh, then to be concerned.

Heidi actually got me to feel bad for her again. I agree with almost every comparison you made between your ex and Spencer. You said yours was good looking, and I seriously, seriously, seriously think Spencer is ugly as shit. Even before he started acting like a complete pile of crap I thought so.

So, that was a pretty good finale, but what the hell kind of leases do these people have? Heidi can move out in a day? Audrina can just break her lease on her apt. to move in with Lauren at the drop of a hat? And did Wh-wh-wh-whitney get the job or not? There couldn't have been more staged phone calls in this episode if they tried.

But the scene that literally had me screaming at the TV was Spencer at Brody's apt. talking about how he was a player and nothing was going to change. He is the most vile piece of garbage...seriously, I wanted to jump through the screen and rip his ugly bobble head off. I still can't help but feel sorry for Heidi, even though she has proved herself to be a terrible friend.

Spencer must implode.

That is what US Weekly is reporting - that Heidi got a boob job on Monday. That is why she was not on the Aftershow live.
I bet Spencer kept her doped up that night so she could not see the finale, the part where Spencer talks about the Homeboy Phone.

Not surprising. I'd put the blame entirely on Spencer - it would make sense. He hoped to bring Lauren down during the last season of the Hills, instead people sided with her more than ever with each episode where he attacked her. The more ugly he was about her the more her supporters rallied. Seems to me he would do just about anything to try to hurt her or make her look bad.

I may dislike Lisi and Rocky from Survivor.
I may dislike Charla and Mirna from The Amazing Race.
But nothing comes close to how much I loathe and detest Spencer.

I agree that if it was them, Spencer actually did the deed (spread the rumor), but I wouldn't be surprised if Heidi knew what he was doing, or found out after and didn't do anything about it. So I think the blame would be 60/40.

It would make sense that as the season aired, Spencer would get more and more upset about the general viewing public's nasty backlash towards him, and would blame Lauren for that. So as a result, decides to try and ruin her "good girl" image. He's a total loser.

So, I watched Season 1 this week and noticed some interesting things.

1) Heidi and Lauren live in a total different apartment this season. When S2 started I noticed there was different funiture, but it is a new apartment. (I realized this b/c the stairs are different)
2) In the interviews Heidi said when you are in a relationship, you should never forget your friends. That you should always have time to yourself.
3) Also in the interview Heidi said that people in LA will use you to futher their career and to get their name out there. Huh, remind you of anyone. . .SPENCER?!?!
4) Heidi broke-up with Jordan because she didn't appreciate the way he was talking to her. But she is going to stay with the guy to told her to get out of his car? Heidi totally needs to go back and watch S1. There is a lot she will learn about herself and her life!

I don't know if anyone has seen the deleted scenes on the season 1 DVD, but they're almost better than the show. So many hilarious moments we never got to see. My favorites: Jordan's singing lesson with the one and only Hacksaw, Heidi's conversation with Santa, and, of course, Brian's stand-up routine at the Laugh Factory.

If you Netflix it, the first 2 DVD's are only the episodes and the 3rd DVD has no episodes and is all extra information. I got the DVD's through Netflix and I was done with all 3 of them in a couple days. It is definitly worth it to watch the 3rd DVD.

I know how that goes! My boyfriend was less than excited using all 3 for the Hills. But what does he know, he is a boy! I on the other hand thought it was worth it, although I probably only would have gotten the 3rd DVD if I knew in advance. It was still fun to watch the first season over.

I'm watching The Hills: Top 10 Moments of all Time hosted by Lauren and Audrina. It's a great way to get ready for Season 3.

I have my Spencer hate dialed up to an all time high, I'm shaking my head at Heidi in dismay and loving re-watching Lauren telling Heidi what a "sucky person" Spencer is.

Poor delusional Heidi. What a twit.
