For those of you like me, unsure about when the show will be returning, it was recently announced that it'll be back "some time in February". So now it's been narrowed down to 28 days. But when? WHEN?!?!

Well t-bag let's narrow it down for you. Survivor is on Thursdays, so that brings it down to 4 days. The 1st is too early, and probably the 8th too. So it will 15th or the 22nd. My $$ is on the 15th.
Happy Viewing:D

You're so going to lose when the controversial decision someone makes this season is that Mark Burnett is moving it to Friday nights. And then I'll be two dollar signs richer!

Haven't they premiered before on Superbowl Sunday? If they go this route it will start February 4th.

Yes, they have. The year that they did that a guy from the town I was living in was on it. I had seen him at the mall right before the show started it was wierd. It was that Kale guy fron the army that had the Jerky.

They have, but this year I think the Superbowl is on a different network, because Criminal Minds or Without a Trace or some show like that got the post-Superbowl slot.

Scoty, just for the record, when I picture you saying this (because I'm a freak and I picture you all talking as your avatars) I hear you saying "rout" and not "root". Is my fantasy correct?

This is why I picture you, LQ, as having supreme elegance and class, despite your sometimes randy comments.
So, what does a wine bottle sound like? Do you hear slurs and hiccups when you read my posts?

Well no. You sound/look a lot like me, swirling the wine glass, diamond bracelets dangling from your slim milky wrist, head thrown back, white teeth gleaming as you charm every soul in the room, including the ladies who want to hate you but just can't help loving you... yeah, that's how I picture a talking wineglass. ;)

That's pretty hot! Though I sometimes picture you with your Slash wig, sunglasses, and one of those old lady sweatshirts with lighthouses all over it. It's somewhat incongruous, but it works for me.

Would it mess with your mind if I switched to a Marcel Marceau avatar?

We heard him in Silent Movie. Unless that was a voice-over. But Mel wouldn't do that to us. Would he?

It actually is on CBS, but I haven't heard anything about Survivor premiering that night. I hope it doesn't, as I will undoubtedly be in a Cancun-induced drunken stupor.
I hope they run an extended episode Two and Half Men.

Alright, now we've got some answers:
The contestants will be revealed tomorrow (the 12th), and the show will premier February 8th.
I've seen some spoilers of contestants from people who noticed their friends going away for a couple months and coming back freakishly skinny and whatnot, and from the looks of it, we're going with another young and beautiful cast. Practically everyone is in their 20s. And not only that, but it's extremely diverse. Practically as diverse as last season. Four or five Asians, at least three African-Americans, a couple Latinos. Looks like white people and unattractive people will be in the minority this season.
Except for this one guy rumored to be on the show:

I'm not kidding about that, either. I hope to God these people are right.

In other Pre-Fiji news, I read an interview with Probst, who gives away some details about how twists are going to go down this season. Don't read on if you don't want spoilers.
Apparently, there were 20 people originally cast, and the night before the game started, some woman quit and they had no alternates. So that's why they had 19, and they had to change everything slightly. As an interesting little tidbit, Sundra from last season was an alternate, which explains why she was so boring, but beautiful. Mark Burnett probably just wanted to keep a looker like that around for a little while, even if she's not on the show.
Anyway, the 19 people get dropped off all together on the beach, and they have nothing. Then Jeff comes by and gives them some information. They have all these construction materials and couches and dishes and showers and everything, and they have to build the best shelter ever. So everyone builds this amazing shelter that's totally luxurious. Then Jeff says they have to split in half somehow. So they elect somebody to split up the tribes. The two tribes compete in the first reward challenge. The winners get to live in luxury. The losers get nothing. Apparently the "rich" tribe starts to get really lazy and get entitlement issues, while the "poor" tribe gets really resentful and desperate.
And with the hidden idols, they've changed it again to force people to play them, which people apparently do. The first season, it was you had to play the idol before the votes. The second season, you could play it after the votes were read. This season, you have to play it after the votes are cast, but before they're read. So he'll ask them if they're confident in where they are, or if they're worried that they're going.
Sounds very interesting. There's no telling about how the extra person is played out, but Probst said it wasn't that significant and it plays out fine.

I hope the tribes have to battle for the superior camp often. If one tribe is stuck permanently in the crap camp, this is going to get really lame really quickly.
