DaysofourLives-Monday January 15th
Everyone sees Philip's new face.
Abby is still trying to convince Nick to spill the truth beans about being that handsome cyber-doctor that Chelsea is still lusting for. Say goodbye to Stephanie because she got on a racing team in Dayton, Ohio. One of the only places in the world the Titan jet does not frequent. Oh yeah and Chelsea is being a gigantic, smug pain in the face. But for some reason everyone continues to "see the good in her."
At the hospital Sami's quest to make men proud of her continues as she, Lucas and Will enjoy quality family time post Sami's daring rescue of Lucas from the bitter cold that would have surely frozen him. Roman pops in to surprise Sami and the Roberts' by announcing that the Salem PD is awarding her a 'Good Samaritan Award' and Kate was like "Oh right!" And Lucas was all "Chill mom."
Okay ready for the old actor switch-er-oo? At the courthouse during the Claire custody battle, a bandaged Philip is dramatically wheeled in to plead for custody of his sort-of-daughter Claire. In the other corner a violently upset Shawn D and Belle.
Judge: "Mr. Kiriakis? Are you well enough to testify?"
Philip: "Yes your honor."
Philip slowly removes his bandages with Twilight Zone-esc anticipation revealing a surprisingly familiar face! It's Jay Kenneth Johnson, who previously portrayed Philip Kiriakis from 2000-2002. So, that was exciting! Back to the case: "I love Claire more!" "No I do!"
Meanwhile outside the courtroom Bo, Hope, Marlena, Mimi, and Max convene waiting for the verdict. A sassy extra bitchy child welfare worker flaunts Claire by her dear grandparents. Bo, Hope, and Marlena beg her to let them hold Claire but they are denied. So Bo just helps himself and takes the baby out of her arms. The sass-a-frass social worker is threatening she's gonna get a bailiff to arrest Bo, but when the bailiff shows up he's too cute and wussy to arrest his cop buddy. They surrender Claire and continue to wait for the verdict. I think the judge must be related to Jeffrey Tambor. Does he guest star on Days? But don't we all, in our hearts?
The Verdict……….drum role please.……….Philip gets Claire!
Temporary custody awarded to the Kiriakises! Belle and Shawn were granted supervised visits on the weekends, this reeks of Mrs. Doubtfire, and they have to take "parenting classes" and counseling to work on being better parents, how they can do this without a child, I'm not sure. I'm also not sure if the judge meant three months our time or three months Salem time.
That's the end ofour day but Salem's day has just begun……….
