Cool episode. I actually started to like Matt and Nikki/Jessica (mostly because she was super hot tonight).
I love you Claire
Nathan did recognize her from Isaacs paintings?!? I thought he would.
Sylar is awesome, and really made a fool of Mohinder.
The way they promo episodes needs to stop....for example...
"Save the cheerleader, save the world" over and over again.
Now it's "someones going to die...someones going to die...someones going to die"......

Still dislike Mohinder. Still holding a grudge ever since he didn't believe Peter (granted this is before he met the ambiguous little boy with a little girl's voice). Now he blindly trusts everyone. Sylar didn't even have to make him macaroni.

Someone's gonna fly... someone's gonna buy. Hell. It's only 5 a.m. and I'm already thinking about lunch.
I'm not sure if Nathan recognized Claire. What does everyone think about that? I loved how she threw the rock at his car! Girl's got an arm on her, doesn't she?
I got confused during the part when Ando and Hiro were trying to get that chick's bag back and Dauber/Tom Cullen answered the door of the hotel room. I thought they intended that to be Linderman. That was probably the worst casting I had ever seen! Then I figured it out. M-O-O-N spells duh! (Sorry... I just saw The Stand recently and it's still stuck in my head.)

How dumb was Matt to take the diamonds? they'll find the case (which he left open on a table) with his prints on it. Great job Parkman, great job.
Hate his wife.
Did it seem that Nikki was starting to assert herself a bit more or get a bit more power? The fact that MAtt heard her seemed surprising to JEssica.

I don't think Nathan recognized her...he would never put 2 and 2 together b/c the painting wasn't even her for one and also Peter is the one that did the face so it wasn't a great likeness.
As far as Isaac dying b/c Hiro can't change the future, I don't think that's necessarily the case because all we have seen is that he hasn't changed it so far.
Dauber wasn't supposed to be Linderman, it was just some guy that showgirl said was her "boyfriend" and that she was going to set up an intro to Linderman for them after they got her bag back. I was laughing when I saw him though, mostly thinking of Spongebob and Patrick!
Claire's mom is a BITCH (bio)!! HATE HER! But...how awesome seeing Claire throw some major 'tude at HRG!? I really wanted Nathan to say that he wanted to see her, she broke my heart w/that sad sack look on her face. Poor kid. She's hurtin....
Who took Hiro now!?!? Jeesh!
Nikki/Jessica...I think Jessica was surprised twice, first when she looked at her reflection and it was just her and then Nikki appeared behind her on the stairs and then when Matt said he heard her talking. It surely has something to do with the "battle" they are having for control over the body/mind and Jessica realized that Nikki has somehow found a way to fight and get "out" and could take over. Or will there be 2 of them?!? Maybe...just a guess - one of them will die but the other will insure Ali Larter still has a job and she will remain in the cast as the one that didn't die!?!?

It is "someone flies ... someone dies". I am 100% on that.
Claire's mommy doesn't remember anything ... uh oh, someones got some splaining to do. What the hell happened to the little brother??? We haven't seen him since he found the tape.
So Zanes ability was to liquify things ... I have a few people I would like to do that to! Sylar has such control over all of his abilities, now only if Peter could have that. BTW ... I missed him tonight.
So is Hiro finally going to meet Linderman. Wouldn't that be where the cop is taking him ... and why was Ando so stupid enough to think that Hiro would leave him now so close to finding Linderman? The scene in the hotel room was so funny though!
I was actually liking the whole Nikki/Jessica plot this episode. I already like Matt ... its his wife I can not stand. You would think little Micah would notice that Jessica is there though.
Mohinder is way to gulible ... he is a man of science how? He is kinda annoying me now ... I am sending him to the shit list!
I though that Nathan and Claire were actually going to meet face to face ... not rock to car.
and I thought it was "someone flies...someone dies..."
I'm with you. After the episode, my daughter was running around saying someone flies, someone dies in a scary whisper voice. It was cute...then annoying.

That boy does seem to end up getting into more trouble.
and why was Ando so stupid enough to think that Hiro would leave him now so close to finding Linderman?

Did anyone notice that when Jessica attacked Matt and threw him out the window, she was wearing a different shirt than she had been when she was handcuffed to the railing? I think that it may have been the same outfit Niki was wearing when she was standing at the top of the steps arguing with Jessica. I think that they're starting to imply that, besides the split personality issue, that Niki and Jessica in some way can actually split physically. Matt told Jessica that he heard Niki, and Jessica got this look on her face like she had a new idea ... maybe she somehow 'jumped' into Niki. Also, if they can physically split, that would explain how Jessica contacted Linderman to get herself out of prison.
I hope that this Hiro/Ando storyline goes somewhere, and isn't just another time-killer. I'm starting to get a little frustrated with the lack of progress there. I did get a kick out of it when Hope called Hiro 'Sulu'...

I was thinking the same thing w/them splitting b/c of her surprise. Now I realize though that if he can hear people's thoughts, he may not have "heard" Nikki so much in reality as in Jessica's head!? I still kinda like my theory of the someone dying being either Jess or Nikki and the other one sticking around permanently, although that would be quite the cop out on the writers end.

Usually they make it kind of a whispering echo when Matt is reading minds, you didn't get that when he heard Niki & Jessica aruguing last night. Also, I don't remember him making that 'doggie questioning' look that he does when he's mind reading. I also keep wondering about the different outfit when she threw Matt out the window. But I do like the theory that the rumored death is going to be one of the two personalities ... I agree, kind of a copout if they do it that way, but I'd prefer that to one of the Heroes really dying! And if it is that way, I hope it's Niki that dies, Jessica is a much more interesting personality!

This could just be me naively sticking to a pet theory without substance, but I still maintain that the mirrors and reflections thing is more than just a device to show the two different sides of Niki/Jessica. Also, if she can split, it seems likely from what we've seen so far that the split is possible only where she can see her reflection.
I keep thinking that the split personality thing is a big, big red herring. Niki/Jessica is fixating on her split and so are we, but there's amazing potential here for the story to go somewhere completely different while staying true to all the clues they've given us so far. I know people hate the Niki/Jessica story and think it's boring, but I've felt like there was something bigger behind this since the beginning and ... well, I'm just stubborn! :D
I agree that there's no way Nathan recognized Claire. His reaction to the photo is exactly what his mother said it would be: a soft-hearted response to her big blue eyes and his own sense of personal responsibility.
And it seems unlikely that the guy who caught Hiro is taking him to Linderman. He said he was State Gaming Commission (although I'm not sure that explains the arsenal in his closet). To tell the truth, I left the room as Hiro's closet door was opening, so I didn't see whether the guy actually said "I'm taking you to Linderman", or what happened, so forgive my ignorance if that was made clear in the show.
And yeah, Matt and the diamonds. WTF? Okay so his feelings are hurt because the guy doesn't believe in him, but, dude, use your noggin!
Hope calling Hiro Sulu....priceless.
I don't think Nathan recognized Claire.
Matt keeping diamonds....stupid.

I just re-watched the show and Jess/Nikki were wearing the same black jacket with what appeared to be a black tank underneath. It only showed the very top at the bust line. After Matt left her in the stairwell, she must have shed the jacket while getting out of the hand cuffs. When they show her chucking him out the window, you don't see the front of the tank, only the back.( it is gray with black roses). Maybe the front at the bust line is black lace??? When she is back home, she is wearing the gray tank she put on in the morning when leaving Nikki in the bathroom.

Love this show.
I like the way that they're twisting our expectations ... Claire's mom was originally this goofy clueless woman, kind of a comic relief character. Now you see the big picture, that she's that way because of the memory wipes, that it's her husband who's done this to her; she's really become a sad character, and, IMO, it's more powerful because she started off as a joke.

Yes! I thought the same thing when Matt stole the diamonds and left the briefcase right there too! No wonder the cop thought Matt was a joke and "he couldn't make it as a rent-a-cop". But I don't think the writers are going to go anywhere with that.
I agree that Jessica looked very hot in this episode, maybe it was her combination of being an assassin and her outfit, but something about her made me say "Whoa! She looks hot!". Also I thought the scene where Matt knows that she is coming up the elevator and he cocks (heh) his gun and points it at the door and Jessica is does the same thing, was an edge of my seat moment...Too bad they didn't confront each other and instead matt went elsewhere (damn you writers).
Claire's bio-mom is a bitch, but she was right in that Nathan didn't want to see her. I wonder why she has to goto Mexico again, who is she running from. I so wanted Claire to confront Nathan as he was walking back to his limo..but the thrown rock was cool too lol.
Oh yeah I also LOVED the part when HRG tells claire that she is grounded and claire replies with "You aren't even my real father!". I definitely went "oooooooo HRG got owned" in that scene.
I thought it was stupid that Mohinder did not see the dead guy on the kitchen floor and even more dumb that Sylar didn't even attempt to hide him if he knew that Mohinder was going to be there. As for Sylar's new power, I think it only works on material objects, not humans, because then he could just kill anyone instantly. I thought the power was wierd/lame anyway, it could have been cooler.
It looks like Hiro is going to jail or at least be interrogated by the government agent, I think his story needs to pickup because it's becoming kind of too much of a joke/hijinx. Bring back his powers please.

I definitely think there's some merit (Mewwit!) to this because right before Nikki was over her on the stairs and she caught her reflection, she seemed surprised that it was really just her reflection and if I am not mistaken this is the first time ever we have seen them together w/out a mirror or reflective surface around so I definitely agree something BIG is going to happen.

Oh, wait. Sylar's wearing a Ramones shirt. I'm back!
Is it just me, or is anyone else worried Claire's going to turn into a man-hating lesbian since all the men in her life are such assholes? Hopefully her mom keeps acting like a real bitch so she realizes some women are just as bad as some men. Otherwise, if she joins the other team, how will I ever sleep with her?!
The biggest victim this episode was Mr. Muggles. I was close to tears watching Claire's heart break, but then when Mr. Muggles tripped on his own feet while dodging the towel, I broke down.

Ando was quite the annoying in this episode. Reminded me of the time when he failed to tell Hiro to stop time, and got them beat up in Vegas.

First, I love Matt Parkman. I love everything about Matt Parkman, including that the name of the actor who plays him is Greg Grunberg. That said, I didn't think it was a great idea for him to take the diamonds. While it isn't as though his family couldn't use the money, and I understand that his feelings were hurt, it seems like one of those decisions that will come back to bite him in the ass.
I was totally pissed at Claire's biological mother, the way she put the screws to Nathan for money and then offered Claire 1/4 of it, claiming it was half. And then she says she's leaving for Mexico. Gah! Poor Claire. And yet....
This might be putting the horse before the cart, but I can't wait until the heroes all get together, and everything is completely tense between Nathan and Claire. Especially since she won't know who he is, but he'll know exactly who she is, and then the fact that Peter saved her will add another delicious layer of awkward to the whole situation. I love this show!
Anyway. Can't wait until the next episode.
I really liked watching Nathan this episode.
Man! I can't figure this guy out!
Most of the time he acts like a cold, ruthless bastard. Then, at other times it looks like he has somewhat of a tenderness to him.
When he was in Bio-mom's trailer, he actually seemed sincerely touched about his daughter & seeing her picture. (I don't think he recognized her) But then he turned it right back off, probably when he realised what it would mean for his campaign. (Bastard again) Poor Claire! :crying:
But, I guess that's what makes a good character, someone with depth.
I love this show! Can't wait for next week!:w00t:

I have to disagree with the most here that say Nathan didn't recognize Claire. While I will agree that he didn't recognize her right away, he had that look of 'I know her but from where'. My guess is that he will remember once he gets back top NYC.
Bio mom is a bitch...who wanted to kill her? Someone that wanted or knew about her power or just some loser?
Nikki/Jessica can split into two people I am sure of it but Nikki never knew how to do it. But now she is learning and accepting her powers more, this should be interesting since Jessica cannot control her as much as she has in the past. But does this mean that they will go hand to hand against each other and if one dies does the other? Or only if they are sharing a body?
Matt....idiot at least hide the freaking case back in the ceiling, the police aren't going to look there.
Mohinder, you had such potential but now you fate is sealed in my opinion. You are an idiot and moron...use some of your science background to not go running blind into a situation and don't be so freakin' naive. What happened to all the doubt you had, employ it judiciously!
And I loved that Hiro was called Sulu, it was too funny at least for me.
Since Nathan is Claire's father, that just shot to hell the hope of a Peter/Claire hookup. eewwwww.

...he had that look of 'I know her but from where'. My guess is that he will remember once he gets back top NYC.
I respectfully disagree. There's nowhere he could know her from. He didn't see her after the Homecoming event. Also, Isaac conveniently lost his powers long enough for Peter to paint the dead-cheerleader-at-homecoming painting that Nathan ended up seeing, but as Peter is no real artist, he didn't get any kind of likeness, it was just a generic dead, blond cheerleader. And Nathan can't even make the cheerleader connection because Meredith never mentioned that. I think his look was exactly what his mother said it would be -- melting sympathy and paternal guilt.
I tend to think that the metal melting power is about molecular manipulation (sans heat). After all, what good would a bunch of plastic tarp be if the metal were at melting point? But then he appears to cause the water to come to a boil almost instantly when Mohinder mentioned the DNA sample, and how does he do that without heating the metal of the teapot? Maybe he can manipulate metal in a number of ways. Maybe at some point someone will point a gun at him and he'll tie it in a knot or burn their hands with it, or maybe he'll turn a lamp post into a metal golem and beat someone to death with it. (Good grief, that's a lot of maybes!) Metal manipulation is soooo Magneto. And incredibly powerful. This is not a skill you'd want a psychopath to have!
Maybe I spent too many years in art school, but there was a nice symmetry to us seeing Mme Petrelli's reflection while she was being uncommonly heartless in her speech to Nathan. I'm not saying it's a hint that she has duality, it's just a nice bit of visual repetition of theme (i.e. getting a glimpse of another side to someone). Another nice moment when they pan from the empty, almost claw-like hand of the scheming matriarch (for whom family represents a means to an end, and for whom power and wealth are the most important things -- as witnessed by the cold diamond ring) to the solid, baseball-filled hand of the son (for whom family is everything, and loyalty to causes outside of personal gain is honorable -- as witnessed by the "group affiliation" ring).

Too over my head for me to even comment, but I did enjoy reading your thoughts! I keep forgetting about their meeting, it seems so long ago. But that makes sense, doesn't it? That Sylar's powers would just be so strong and overpowering they would have to cause severe pain to Peter if he absorbed them all at once. But didn't Peter fall down in pain well after his meeting with Sylar? It was after he was being released from prison, right? Damn. Now I'm confused and I'm feeling the need to go rewatch some episodes. Thank goodness for the internet!

I hadn't thought if it, but it makes sense...now that Peter is learning to control it a bit better we'll have to watch for any powers we weren't aware of before - but since his method of controlling the powers is to concentrate on the person that he got them from (ie, healing by thinking of Claire), what would happen if he concentrated on Sylar? Would it be like a Wildcard?

I watched and rewatched that episode after it aired, and I remember thinking at the time that Peter looked really sick every time we saw him: while in his interrogation with Matt, while sitting in his cell waiting for his brother, etc. I remember thinking "Why isn't he healing?", because I assumed it was a physical response to the fall. I think now that it was power overload the whole time, which finally came to a head after he walked out of the jail. However, the final trigger wasn't Sylar: Sylar was a big ol' bale of hay, but Matt was the straw that broke that camel's back.
I like when a story is well-thought out enough that you can go back, see things from a new perspective, and have them make complete sense.

random and someone probably has notice it before but Matt is in the first episode of Lost. He is the pilot of the plane that crashed! It was funny cause I was introducing my cousin to Lost and then I saw him (his face is all bruised and swollen) but it was hard to notice and then I was like....oh....my...god! Thats Matt Parkman from heroes!! And he agreed with me. Anyway I thought it was cool
