Ok, so if i.m starting this early you can boot me back to bloody donkey status...
First impressions of tonight.s show: good god! what has happened to the show i knew and loved? i found that tonight the episode seemed off and unrealistic.
sure there were moments that brought a tear to my eye (christina basically the ENTIRE episode), but for the most part i felt like i was watching General Hospital with a better set design.
at least the storyline with alex and crushed lady looks promising...

Meredith crying? Worst acting I've seen. EVER. Okay okay, that's a little harsh. But how predictable was this? That whole "up in heaven, but still at the hospital" thing was so cheesy too. Super cheese. I used to love the show.. this is sweeps time. What is happening??

that was my reaction, too! and i.m over the whole izzie/denny thing.
and honestly, if you were dead why would you inhabit the hospital you died in? i would choose a well-stocked bar...

The only scenes that touched me were the scenes involving Addison. I can see why she's getting a spin-off show, sort of. I also liked how Izzie was saying to George, "Not now George, not at this time." As if HE were the one who was being cold. She is ridiculous..
Why are they making everyone so irritating? Alex and Addison are my favorites right now.

I like how you and I are having this back and forth dialogue with each other.

I must be the only one out there still liking the show, although last night's ep. was the weakest of the 3-parter. (C'mon, that was it for Kyle Chandler? More Bomb Squad Guy & less Denny, please!)
The whole limbo thing was stretched too far, but at least now we wrapped up Ellis's character, got Christine & Mere to grow their characters a little, & George is growing some balls.
Love Alex & Addison, hate that little peppy-bitch doc who helped in the clinic. She was just on Law & Order:SVU as a bitchy reporter, hated her on that too. I wanna see Bailey lay the smack down on her & Callie lay it down on Izzie. Although I think pretty soon there's going to be a scene like in "Airplane!" where people lined up to slap the woman who was freaking out-Izzie will be cornered in the locker room by Callie & everyone's going to line up to take a shot.

Yeah, I saw that ep of SVU too and I remember thinking, "hey! it's that annoyingly happy doctor from grey's." She definitely plays the character well. She kind of reminds me of the robot daughter from "Small Wonder" back in the 80s. Only with a perma-smile on her face.

I agree tvaholic, I don't think this show is that bad. I did like Denny to get her to admit that she really didn't get what the point was anymore.
I did like the part with Meredith and her mom. Trust me as an adult with a mom who died way before her time, we still seek that approval.
This episode was so bad. I'd say 99% stunk, 1% was okay.
Denny is even more annoying in his afterlife.
Addison is getiing prettier and prettier.
Alex is getting nicer and nicer.
I did like the end when Bailey implied she was going for chief resident.
Now people tell me, if Meredith was one of us (meaning just a patient) would the doc's have tried so hard to bring us back from death? Hell, they would have called it, and went off for coffee. I kept yelling at the tv, "just let her die".
Lennonwhore, is that you in your avatar?
If so, you are so pretty. Glad to see you put some meat on those bones.:D

I kept yelling at the tv, "just let her die".
It's what I've been saying since the first season. Damn the show being named after her!

it is indeed i, and it was taken at the end of a very long, drunk day/night (four in the morning when the pic was taken and we started drinking around 11:30 that morning).
so i.ve had time to think about the episode some more last night, and also really liked the moments with bailey when she was working on meredith. it was emotional because she is such a strong woman, and you could see her struggling to keep it together. her yelling at meredith.s body.classic.

I loved Bailey. Don't you love that...you aren't going to die on my watch attitude? I did also like the Chief talking to Ellis...that was touching.

Hey the make up artists or someone got the memo.. Callie's eyebrows are less ^ ^ lately. They're actually softer. She should've Bud Light slapped Izzie after that rant. Is Izzie harboring secret feelings for George or something? Or is she just jealous that her GBFF is now married and she's alone.. once again?
Although the writers always have to make us feel "bad" for Izzie because SOMEONE always throws the Denny card in her face. Cheap shots.. NEWMAN!!

That's how they kept teasing it. So my wife and I decided that Meredith was going to die and leave the show. That's the only devestating conclusion we could think of. But that didn't happen. So what was the devestating conclusion?

Holy crap you're right, that could totally be her!
I'm having a bigger problem with Izzie than Mere. It's getting harder to like Izzie with her self-righteousness & crazy talk. Ok, Bailey can be a bitch but we love her, Alex is a bitch but I love him. Christine's a bitch & I love her. I think they just need to cut down on her rants. I guess I'm a little biased-how can you not love someone (Mere) who was so happy to see her dead dog?

Yeah her holier than thou rants are a bit excessive. And yes, Mer seeing her dead dog was kind of cute. But I think the whole, bringing in Denny and the girl with a pole through her stomach to talk some sense into Mer made no sense.
I felt bad for Addison when she saw Derek so torn up over Mer. "He never felt that way about me." God I love Addison!
Oh and, I already looked on IMDB. The girl who played Vicki the Robot isn't the peppy doctor. Boo.. how cool would that have been?

Re-watching last night's ep and didn't notice this before, it was directed by Adam Arkin. Interesting tidbit - maybe just to me....

Did you also notice that Marti Noxon helped write this one, too?

She talks about Adam Arkin directing and how the cast really is just that pretty.

I did like that part Julie. It was one of the few b/c the whole episode was so BLAH!
I REALLY wish that Callie would have punched Izzie too. That girlfight would have been justified!:D

Her hair was softer too. She looked REALLY hot in that ep.
I thought it was boooooring beyond belief. Of course, it was Mere-centric and I can't stand her so... Bummer she did't die. And has no brain damage.
The 2 best parts... Callie calling Izzy out and Addy/McSteamy's bet.
Otherwise?

One Tree Hill just aired an episode before this that featured Lucas in a hospital hanging between life and death as well, deciding on love. What a shock to see the SAME thing here just a few weeks later.

I would love to replace their technical advisor. It is true that "you're not dead until you're warm and dead." But come on! How many times did I see them doing CPR and then walk away from the body when there was NO friggin' heart beat/pulse/rhythm on the scope for minutes at a time. Then all of sudden decide, oh we should pump on her chest for a bit. There were so many things that were contrary to advanced and basic life support that I won't bore y'all with more.
At the very least, Mer should have had a little memory lapse (maybe forget that McDreamy was the love of her life?), or some sort of neurological deficit. It might have made her more sympathetic. Maybe. Possibly.
