I'm sorry, I know this show was on, like, three years ago, but I just got really nostalgic about it for no reason. Did anyone else watch it when it was on MTV?

For those of you who don't know, The Assistant was Andy Dick's reality show where 12 or something douchebag kids whose dream it was to work in Hollywood competed for the job as Andy Dick's assistant. And it was quite possibly the greatest reality TV show ever. He treated the kids like a total asshole, such as making one wash his car, and then taking the car out for a drive halfway through her cleaning process, only to return with it absolutely covered in mud. Or when he made beautiful male model Colin search his swimming pool for a contact lens. Or when he made Colin, again, break up with his girlfriend for him. And there were no rules. Sometimes he'd clip you, and then bring you back in the next episode, only to clip you again an hour or so later. One girl got cut because she was the last person to walk into his room. Everything was completely unpredictable, including who won. Additionally, the show gave us Tanika, the white, less-famous Omarosa. I fucking hate Tanika.

Anyway, if you missed out on it, it's all on Andy Dick's website for you to watch. I suggest you do so, so someone can discuss it with me.

How can you not remember it? My friends and I threw huge Assistant parties every week to watch it.

The best parts were the tantrums Andy Dick would throw. Like when they were given the task of guarding the plate Diane Keaton gave him, and Dave Navarro broke it, so Andy destroyed Dave's guitar. None of it made any sense, but it was hilarious.

Oprah is accepting applications at her web site for a similar Primetime show... although i think she will have more class than Andy Dick.... you should look into it T-Bag

My mind is a total blank. I can remember the first eps when they ran for the beds (in the garage or something LOL), and I remember some scene with the fire or something.....

I know I loved the show, but I can't remember if I finished watching it....:huh:

Ugh. Oprah's assistant? Sounds boring.

The end was the best, Firecat. It came down Tanika and Melissa, who was the sweet little blonde girl, but then Mark, who totally kicked ass the whole time, wrote a letter to Andy asking to come back, so he let him. Then they did a Fear Factor-type elimination, with stuff like carrying cups of coffee across balance beams over pools, and then a gross eating challenge. Melissa had to eat a hot dog from a gas station, Mark had to eat a brownie with grass on top of it, and Tanika had to eat two head cheese popsicles. It was unbelievably unfair, but it was just a way to ensure Tanika left, which I was happy about. And then, for some reason, Andy chose Melissa. Because she had a nice laugh or something. But then I heard that Mark became his real assistant and Melissa became his girlfriend. So I guess it all worked out in the end.

That show was hilarious. The best was the one with Dave Navarro.

This show was so off the wall and if I remember correctly, the kids didn't even quite understand who he was or what they signed up for.
