Cycle 8 Season Premiere (2/28/07)

I don't have much to say (besides the fact that Renee is a straight up bitch) but I wanted to see if anyone else saw that annoying chick from Gilmore Girls (the one who referred to her boyfriend as "Boyfriend") in the audience at the Goodwill fashion show? I thought I recognized a few other people but it went by too quickly. Anyone else see any familiar faces?

I think these girls are the least experienced group yet, and they seem to know nothing about models/fashion. Lots of room for improvement, though.

I was disappointed that the girl with the enormous afro was eliminated last night. I would have loved to have seen what she looked like after the makeover episode. And I loved her whiny Brooklyn accent.

The only other girls I can remember are the know-it-all blonde photographer (god she brought back a lot of bad memories from when I was that age), and the girl who won the Goodwill challenge (who had the most annoying voice ever).

Oh, and Tyra "stepping" was craptastic. That woman seriously thinks she is good at everything. Maybe next cycle she can perform brain surgery for the premier episode.

I agree angie, I so wanted to see that afrobun gone. I thought she was cute, dumb as a box of tissue, but cute and likeable.

The one that won the challenge so reminds me of Courtney Love, heroin chic.

And Tyra is getting on my last nerves along with Mr and Miss J. For the most part I've enjoyed the show, but ego's are getting huge and I think some of their 15 minutes need to be reduced.

But I'll still watch :D

For some reason, it really bugged me that we didn't see more of the fashion show. I saw them walk the runway, went to the bathroom, came back and they were awarding Jael the check and everyone was in different clothing.

They all do seem very inexperienced this time, which seems so odd, because they have all watched any of the previous cycles and had some idea. I mean, on The Real World, all of those drunk goofballs know *exactly* what they are in for now, for example.

That Renee is one angry young woman. Everything seems to piss her off. Is Jael stoned 24/7? I will miss Kathleen. Her fantasy that fur coats come from animals fighting in the jungle was so misguided it was funny (except that to me, there is nothing funny about fur coats). I think the Chi Chi Rodriguez girl is Jaslene, not Kathleen because I was thinking she sounded like Chi Chi, too. Sounds like Chi Chi, looks a little like Jamie Gertz.

I didn't think I'd ever read Chi Chi Rodriquez' name again and hopefully y'all are talking about the golfer from years ago and I'm not embarrassing myself. One year when he played in the Colonial golf tournament here, my dad played in the pro-am with him and my dad said he wet his pants laughing at him. He then saw my dad and I in the gallery a few days later and told my dad he had a lovely daughter and did his trademark sword routine which embarrassed me half to death, but now look back on so fondly.

Okay now back to Top Model after that interruption.

Kathleen...dumb as dirt and I giggled over the animals fighting it out in the jungle. I thought she was prettier and her pic was better than the black plus sized model and Jael, but I don't think she was ever going to "get it".

Jael...I think heroin chic would be a compliment. That girl is not attractive and I don't see how they could beautify her. She looks strung out. I can see her in the 80's at a methadone clinic. Bleah.

Natasha the mail order bride. Somebody turn her down a few notches. That walk...she looks like a streetwalker on Harry Hines in Dallas, she's beautiful and my first pic, but she won't last.

Jaslene is beautiful, but just a little to out there.

I think the girl who did the pro-fur was great and should take it all now.

I might have been able to watch this season if they didn't eliminate the best model in the first episode. Kathleen was pure entertainment.
It's almost too painful to watch Tyra dance around like a coked-up dinosaur...roaring and stomping around like that. What a disaster... but that seems to be the theme of this season: "Keepin it real." Ugliness isn't a disqualifying feature as long as you came from the gutter or use the word "fierce" a few times.
Seriously though... that one chick- with the pro fur shoot -looks like her face was hit by a bus. Also, Jael sounds like an olympic weightlifter but she might be the only decent thing left after episode one.

When did the show turn into gangster girl's gone wrong? Almost all of them are "hardcore" from some . . . hood. I'm glad to see the aphro chick GONE, her voice made the show almost unbearable.
I like Jael but I think it's more of an perma fried kind of thing, not so much harder drugs. But her sounding like a man hurts me.
I have yet to pick a favorite . . .

No question about that one. You couldn't turn on the tv for weeks without seeing that photo of Tyra's fat ass squeezed into a sea lion costume on the beach. Naturally, she countered with an emotional campaign for plus-size acceptance. I think I even saw her on Dr. Phil the next day eating a box of donuts and wrestling a polar bear. Maybe I imagined that...
Anyway, my guess is she'll drive the point home by handing the competition to one of the big girls with a bow on it.

I didn't get to watch the first half all the way through unfortunatly.. but did see most of the last hour with all of the girls.

I was also sad seeing Kathleen go. Not that I think she did a fantastic job or anything.. I just found it hilarious how utterly clueless she was. Would've been SO funny watching her.

And b/c I'm bored.. here comes my opinons on all the girls! muahaha...

Brittany- Ugly hair, weird but decent photo
Cassandra- Good lord she has a HUUUUGE nose. They're going to have to come up with some interesting angles to hide it. Hated her photo.
Diane- HATED her photo. OMG it was just the cheesiest most amateur pic I've ever seen. Awkward doesn't even begin to describe how bad it was.
Dionne- I really loved her photo. All the colors playing off of her dark skin just had a nice look. Made her look like an amazon. heh
Felicia- Meh.... not impressed, but there's potential.
Jael- Most annoying coked out sounding voice EVER, but I actually really like her whole look.
Jaslene- Her face in her photo is great.. I hate the way she's posed though. Girl has a HUGE chin though.
Kathleen- Not the best, not the worst, but SO funny the watch.
Natasha- Very pretty, but pic was SO crappy.
Renee- BITCH with a capital everything, but her pic actually wasn't that bad.
Samantha- I really liked her half of the photo. You can see the affection on her side.
Sarah- VERY bad picture for someone who is supposed to know it all. And good god I hate her freaking helmet hair!
Whitney- You can't even focus on her in that picture b/c she disappears. Your eyes always go to the other girl b/c she's more believeable.

Ok I finally sat down and watched the first two episodes. Can't believe how bad these girls are. You'd think the quality would go UP each season. That first batch of photos was weak.

I can not wait for the make over show to see them give Diane some decent hair color. I agree that it would have been fun to see what they did with Kathleen's Sideshow Bob hair.

I am hoping Renee is the one who gets hair that makes her cry and throw a fit. She's so insecure and picking on everyone around her.

Jael's voice - if you close your eyes and listen - it's Adrienne Curry all over again. But with Adrienne, we know her voice is real because her Mother and Grandmother both had it too on her reality show with the Brady creep.

Each season Miss J tries to find a gimmick - remember the flowers he'd toss away the first season? None of his gimmicks work but here he is with ruffles now. It's weak.

I miss J-Unit's observations. :(
