Interesting article that I didn't see linked anywhere. It's basically about locke and how the actor feels regarding the direction they are taking him. More importantly, towards the end, the article states.

Now that Locke has blown up the submarine, it seems all of the castaways will have plenty of time for introspection. And fans will have lots of time to ponder. It will be five weeks before viewers see Locke and his father again, but when they do, the results will be an intense set-up for the season's climax, Lindelof said.

Does this mean 5 weeks till we get back to the others? No jack, sayid, kate, locke, ben? I hope not =(

I had read that article too and I wondered if "Now that Locke has blown up the submarine..." is a misdirection or a semi-spoiler.

I like the misdirection idea Clair. I can't see Locke blowing up a submarine - I could see him conspiring with Danielle to steal it and make it look like the submarine was blown up.

But Locke doesn't always do the rational thing (see hatch #1, bleeding ear patchman, giving kidney to a mean dad) so it wouldn't be out of character for him to do the stupid thing (blow up a sub).
