This sausage challenge is the best one ever!

I can't say it enough: I LOVE Danny and Oswald.
I HATE Shmirna.
The BQs got a raw deal.
Do you think they changed the challenges to bring teams back together?

"It's 2 a.m. and I'm crying and he's laughing at me...."
Waaaaah waaaah.
Yeah - he's not the only one you ass.
..
Charla falls not once but twice in the knight gear. I need to find a way to make that my freaking screensaver.

Definitely!

More awesome was everyone else's reaction.
Eric and Danielle - now there's a romance that warms the heart.

OH yeah - you shoulda seen the Guido's packing that sausage in.

Dani saying she couldn't eat a big sausage, the Guidos helping Eric pack a sausage, Charla praying for the meat to go down. All of that plus Charla falling in her mini-knight outfit. God, I love this show!

I didn't want to be laughing at Charla falling down, but that just made me laugh and laugh.
Miss California hurling...does it get any better than that? Oh wait...which one of them didn't know Chopin was dead?
Uchenna and Joyce really touched me, especially when Uchenna mentioned about the Auchwitz and the books that were never written. I cried during those scenes.

What about Danielle asking where Warsaw is? Her geography knowledge is non-existent.

Hey, I'm just happy they have personalities now.
Charla falling in her mini-knight outfit.
The first time was funny, the second time I actually felt bad for her. As much as that team annoys the hell out of me (while entertaining at the same time), that second one looked painful. Walking around in circles even though the horse wasn't really leading her, that was amusing.

One of the things I love about the BQs is that they're able to laugh about the vomit too. Yes, there's a million dollars at stake, but these two always look like they're having the time of their lives and enjoying the race for what it is.
As for Chopin, I'm willing to cut someone a break if they're not familiar with classical music so may not know he's dead. He's famous, yes, but not as famous as Beethoven or Mozart. And I do believe that was Kandice that didn't know (she's the taller one).
I did love the Chopin impersonator playing the piano outside (I would have hung around if not racing just to listen to that), and I loved the piano players inside too, all of whom were incredibly sexy.
Uchenna and Joyce really touched me, especially when Uchenna mentioned about the Auchwitz and the books that were never written. I cried during those scenes.
My biggest fear with Auschwitz was that there would be some stupid challenge there, so I'm glad they treated it with the dignity it deserves as a memorial to unimaginable suffering and inhumanity.

I too was afraid they would do something dumb or even worse, one of them say someting stupid. You are so right when you say they treated it with dignity.

I was struggling to find the right words to say it. It's not the place itself that deserves the dignity, because a concentration camp, especially one designed to slaughter countless human beings, is an abomination. It's the memory of the million who died there though, that's where the need for dignity comes in and it's the only reason the camp should continue standing, as a reminder of the depths we can sink to as a species.

Great episode.
Couldn't stop laughing at Charla in her knight outfit. The concentration camp bit was very touching.

and the Cha-chas made me cry at the camp too (especially Oswald). Plus they gave the prize up to Joychenna which I thought was incredibly nice.
I'm glad that all the vomiting happened after I ate my mac and cheese. Funny thing is that I WAS gonna cook sausage for dinner, but I changed my mind. Good call on my part I think.
for once the 30 min rule worked to oust the team marked for elimination. Dani and Eric knew that the whole time, and by teaming up with the Guidos they guaranteed that they weren't gonna come in last.

Sorry to be Debbie downer, but at some point during or just after the visit to the camp someone said something about how they really hope that something like that never happens again, or that we have to learn from the past to prevent that from happening, and all I could think of was Darfur and how once again a genocide is going on and we're basically ignoring it.
I don't know what we can do, but fuck it depresses me.

I must be a hell of a lot mean-spirited than you, Tabby. The second fall only made me laugh harder.

I was worried about this, too. I was really concerned that they had taken the Race there. I didn't want to see a clue box. They ended up handling it with class and not even making it a part of the race.

I thought that too. The holocaust was horrible but it wasn't the first or last genocide. Sadly....

I was in chat with Pek and Jamp and were discussing how there couldn't be a challenge that anyone could even focus on there. It was definitely a deep and emotional stop though.

Those were some pretty inventive and effective time equalizers.
Does anyone know how far apart the teams are spread now?
giffordsaz

I would say about 6 hours if you consider the buses were 4 hours apart and no one took unusually longer on the second bus to get through the concentration camp.....and the first two used the fast forward... but that took time too. I would guess at the most 6 hours between the Cha Cha's, J and U and the end of the pack.
At least we know the final three teams are neck and neck pretty much and AR can equal that out on one train trip or flight to another country.. There were sighted in Kuwait weren't they---- During the actual race? --- seems like that would have come after Africa..
I just hope they keep them out of English speaking counties that like Americans..... I thought the high-lite of this show was the way the Polish people disrespected Charla and Mirna.... repeatedly..Including the police! Imagine Charla running around a Muslim country in a burka or the beauty queens getting hit with canes and sticks because their elbows were showing... and no women driving car..... bring it on AR!!
Charla falls not once but twice in the knight gear. I need to find a way to make that my freaking screensaver.
Do it!
Mirna is the most ignorant, rude, disgusting person I've ever seen on this show. She speaks so fucking horribly to people, I would deck her. I'm glad the locals ignored her!!!!!!!!1
I love Oswald and Danny, also. Hope they win, with the BQ's second.

i thought this was an awesome episode! i thought it was a waste for the first two teams to use a fast forward when they KNEW how far ahead of the others they were...I would.ve saved it for later in the race when it would matter more...
LOVED the polish people giving Charla and Mirna hell! I.ve been to Poland a few times, and everyone is very respectful and quiet (they also have a tendency to dislike Americans very strongly, which I think we all saw happen to all the teams).
I too was scared that they were going to treat Auschwitz with disrespect, and I was wondering before they got there what they were going to do. They only offer guided tours by the two hours, and they are DETAILED and well posted rules on behavior inside and that people will be ARRESTED if they are rude or disrepectful. I was glad that it was treated with the amount of dignity and proper sadness and anger that such a place should invoke.
