Eighteen minutes in and I'm hooked. Lots of action (who doesn't love a good car chase?) and I'm already caring about everyone's stories. Captain Tightpants is awesome, of course. Seeing Fred Burkel and Jubal Early was the cherry on the sundae for me. Gotta love that Tim Minear... pullin' in all his faves.

Edit: Just looked on IMDB for something and noticed Jubal Early's character on Drive is Detective Ehrle. I'll admit it... I thought that was cute.

I enjoyed it, not sure if I'm hooked tho. I'll watch again tonight and see. Since there isn't anything on Monday nights that has me I may watch this anyway.

The lady with the baby didn't strike me as intelligent enough to figure out how to "eliminate" the blonde without shooting her. And I'm not sure I like all the jumping around from different people and vehicles.

Yup. I'm hooked for sure. All sorts of mini-mysteries going on. Who is the real Alex Tully? Where is Wendy's baby and how evil is her husband? Will Winston ever let Sean drive his car??? I'm tell you guys, I'm lovin' it! And the car chases seriously put my Monday-morning-I'm-in-a-pissy-mood and-I'm-late-for-work moves to shame.

Three seasons?!? Silly boy! This is Fox we're talking about. They'll air the episodes out of order, move it to Wednesday at 9, never promote it, and then cancel it after half a season. Poor Captain Tightpants; he deserves better.

But I love Mal. Nathan can throw a wonderful punch and I love how he portrays wounded dignity. I'm in it for the haul, no matter how long.

I know you guys are becoming short of staff lately, but can you please put up recaps for Drive? It seems like it's a good show that most likely will get canceled and since Fox isn't generating a buzz for it, then I think it is your duty to the people [and the couch potato] to know more about this show. Yeah, the location they shot it in sucks since it doesn't depict the setting it says it is in [ie, shots of mountains in South Florida], but I think they will clean mishaps like this up if there is a buzz going on for the show. I am so tired of decent shows getting canceled [The Black Donnellys] and being replaced by reality tv garbage [Wedding Crashers]. So please, pretty please, para mi [for me], have someone there right a quick-quip-witted synopsis of the show? Thanks!

I made that Ausiello-like hint a few days ago about one of the regular characters not being in the opening credits, while the episode description said, "And one of the racers leaves the race permanently," so I figured this person would die. And then during tonight's episode, I noticed that black woman wasn't in it. So I figured she would die, but I'm still waiting for the other one to go.

Yeah, the daughter is really odd-looking. I thought at first it was that Lohan-look-alike that was in RV, but apparently it's a new one. Just what we need.

The soldier's wife is so damn hot. Looks a lot like Rachel McAdams, which is always excellent. Ivy's kind of kermity as well. I really like the chick with the afro who was in the accident. She's pretty bangin'. Although that, "Oh, where Lee surrendered." "Not this time," exchange was so lame.

These people are all really stupid. The instant the clue came up, I said, "Oh, Yorktown." And then I realized that it was telling America to surrender, not Britain, so I changed it to Appomattox. It took, like, three minutes. I sure hope someone kidnaps one of my family members and forces me to run this race, because I could kick ass!

I agree with you on the betting thing, FC. Didn't that tiny dude say in the first episode something to Tully like, "A lot of people have lots riding on you"? Something that led me to believe that people are betting on it and he's the favorite to win.

I hope this isn't some conservative, religious FOX show, and that afro girl wins just to prove that God exists and is always right. If it is a show just pushing a Christian agenda on America, expect Ivy to die soon. She's a tramp.

OK. So there's nowhere else on this site to talk about Drive because apparently not a lot of people like it. Well, I want to speak out because I just found out it got cancelled and I'm pretty pissed.

This show blew me away when it first aired. The opening statement in the very beginning pretty much summed up everything that is wrong with television right now. And the reason this show did NOT succeed is because there are too many of those (you) out there who fall in that category!

This show was HILARIOUS and extremely DRAMATIC!!!! I honestly feel that people didn't like this show because either they weren't smart enough or they weren't paying enough attention.

Almost every episode had my eyes teary and also cracking up on the floor in other parts!!!

This show was taking a step toward better programming on television and no one gave it a chance, because everyone is so used to gettin fed the shit that other shows feed us.

Of course, I just might be crazy! I'm personally sad to see the season go. But who knows, maybe those old House episodes will do good to take its place.

So, go ahead and hit me with your insults! I'm ready! But Drive exhuded exactly what shows should aim toward.
