Lame season.
I'm shocked and surprised that Stefani won though. I didn't think she'd be able to do it, and I'd never bet on anyone who has never been PM. The set-up this season made getting the position harder though.
Was that Nicole's brother in the audience? I half expected him to come up and deck Trump when he fired her.

I said it in the last thread, out of the 4 left...i'd prefer if Stephanie won. So, i'm happy with the outcome. She was the sharpest during the finale also, very poignant (for the most part).
James and Frank picked Atlanta, which I thought was stupid. Nicole and Stephanie picked the Caribbean...but for such convoluted reasons.
George should have been on for the entire season. And I missed Carolyn. Having DJ and Ivanka there just didn't cut it for me.

I'm just glad it's over. The finale was boring and uneventful. I DID think that James was the shoe-in to win so I was suprised when Stephanie won. She basically coasted the whole season. I think this is the final season since DT didn't mention next season at the end.

Ugh. So boring, but I'm happy Stefani won since she was the only one out of those 4 that didn't irritate the crap out of me.
And what was Omorosa doing there? Wasn't her 15 minutes up like, 4 years ago?

It wasn't hard to be the sharpest during the finale. By comparison, Frank was a blithering idiot and Nicole and James were both just very shrill.
The finale was boring and uneventful.
It was so very dull. Trump's questions to each contestant over who should win were lame. Though, I think Stephanie's response about hiring her and letting her hire James to work under her is the single thing that won this position for her. I don't think it had anything to do with any task. The fact that Trump hires or fires based on such silly criteria is what undermines this entire program.
Ugh. So boring, but I'm happy Stefani won since she was the only one out of those 4 that didn't irritate the crap out of me.
Her glasses perched on the tip of her nose while her overlong bangs winged out on either side of her face bugged me - a lot! I know it doesn't make sense to judge a person based on the way they wear their glasses. But I'm doing it.
And what was Omorosa doing there? Wasn't her 15 minutes up like, 4 years ago?
I think it goes to show how desperate this show has become. That they have to pull some controversy from years ago to try to make this finale seem exciting.

OH, I've been meaning to post this: The Apprentice also has a UK version, with a guy named Sir Allen Sugar in the Trump role. He is worth about $50 million, is self-made, and is tough as nails. He also has 2 kick-ass sidekicks: Margaret is his Caroline, except she looks like an older, slightly more feminine Chris Farley, and Nick is his George. I'm pretty sure that Sam the Eagle (from The Muppet Show) was based on Nick.
I've heard they offer episodes on iTunes for free, but I haven't looked myself. Anyway, if you miss the good old days of The Apprentice, you're sure to like the UK version. I'll search around and see if I can find anywhere hosting it online (which is totally legal in the UK, BTW... they don't care because the BBC is state-funded, instead of ad-driven like in the US) if anyone wants.

Eh, the finale was very disapointing - I wish that Trump hadn't merely prolonged Episode 13 by having the REAL grill-session over the mini-movies during the finale. It was clear to me that neither Frankie or Nicole REALLY had "it", and that in the end it would come down to Stefani and James.
While I was impressed by Stefani, there were two things that stood out about why I didn't like her. First being that she never led - I thought that was a wise strategy up until episode 10 or so, but after that she SHOULD have stepped up. She was able to do this by the show's inane rule that project managers continue on. The other thing that bugged me is that, based on her background Trump could have/should have/would have found and hired Stefani (or someone like her) through his normal business channels. You don't have a program like this to simply hire someone who is already "inside the box". James - to his fault - never brought this out. To simply rebut Trump's praise of Stefani by saying "I've led and succeeded over a much broader career spectrum and will bring something new and exciting to the Trump organization - something I don't believe you have now." could have made a difference (well, maybe). But James just sat there as the Stefani bandwagon rolled right over the top of him.
I rolled my eyes when Don Jr. told one of the finalists (I can't remember which one) that he would be "proud of them". I'm not even ON THE SHOW and I could care less if Donny Jr. is proud of me.
I also noticed that there was a conspicious LACK of ANY mention of the NEXT season of The Apprentice, so it would seem the show is done - has anyone seen this topic raised in the media press yet?

I particularly liked Trump's signoff of "see you soon".
Producer Mark Burnett has said that if NBC cancels the show he will shop it to other networks and will not let it die. Sorry, Burnett, but just like with Terry Schiavo, sometimes it's more humane to pull the plug.
Plus, would the Donald's ego even allow him to have his show on the CW or USA Network? I can just see him at the press conference saying how he's so thrilled to be taking the number one show in the country to the CW, the highest rated network. Being a delusional blowhard is a THIRTY BILLION DOLLAR INDUSTRY!!

One observation about the finale itself. It lacked no drama at all. At least in past finales, they at least made it seem like it was possible Trump hadn't made up his mind (the Randall and Rebecca finale comes to mind). This time it seemed pretty clear that Trump knew Stefani was getting the nod the whole time.
Also, wasn't it a little weird when Trump introduced Stefani's video profile saying it would show her beautiful family and it showed absolutely nothing about her personal life?

I noticed that too - I immediately thought "I didn't know she was MARRIED" and, of course, she wasn't.
Did anyone else notice the AWKWARD cropping of Kristine's not-ample-but-still-on-display breasts during her closeups? Its not like Trump wanted to HELP PROMOTE HER APPEARANCE IN THE JUNE ISSUE OF PLAYBOY...

Stefani was done up HOT and we caught just a glmpse of her breasts under that snazzy blazer - they have spent the ENTIRE season trying to conceil the fact that she is sporting the cast's biggest/best breasts. When Trump announced the clip introducing Stefani's "family" I was sure that she was going to be a member of some kind of religious sect that discourages women from showing their breasts.

This was a good season for hotties. My scorecard has Stefani ahead of Heidi, largely because Stefani kept me intrigued by her...possibilities...while Heidi put what she had (which was quite nice) right out there. Kristine had her moments BUT also had moments where she looked way more spent than the others - perhaps owing to her bought with cancer. Marissa "Two Chickens!" was also quite yummy, especially in the opening credits, though I do have to say her personality would have driven me nuts.
Muna was an excellent touch, though I never was sure of exactly what she might have been saying...

Eh, to a certain extent the show jumped the shark when they lost (fired) Catherine and George - those two stiffies made the boardroom feel like a REAL boardroom. This nonsense of having a winning team leader and one of the Trump kids sit in judgement was a BOMB. As I have previously stated, being judged by Don Jr was/would be humiliating - Ivanka is a sharp kid and she had the advantage of slipping neatly into the "Catherine" role.
I think that The Apprentice needs to go to Miami. They need to do away with the stupid tent city construct, do away with team leaders continuing on, and have a season with FEWER openly gay men (not that there's anything wrong with that). I'd like to see George come back, more of Ivanka and none of Don Jr.
TinkerbellAPixie

Don Junior is trying to top his dad in the bad hair department - and he's coming close. I was half watching last night as I uploaded pics and just listening to him speak - what an ugly voice!
Ivanka is sharp - you're right about her. But I still don't think she has the years of experience and the presence that Carolyn and George had. I have never stopped missing those two. The only replacement I have liked in the board room is Bill Rancic.
What were your thoughts on the Martha Stuart spin off?

I was very dissappointed with this season. The finale also had a very weird "scripted" feel - like everyone already knew the outcome and they were just going through the motions. James and Frank were some of the most spirited voices in the boardroom - and each looked pretty deflated. (Unlike Stephani - who looked, well, inflated as Merv has pointed out).
One question for you fellow Apprentice fans. A friend of mine noted that the Trump said to James during the finale

Welcome Channel Dasher. I don't know exactly what Trump was talking about. I totally agree with you about the finale. It seemed totally perfunctory and lacked any drama at all. Scripted is the perfect word to describe it. It felt like the only thing that wasn't planned was Surya's Sanjaya remark - which Merv already mentioned. It seemed like it threw Donald off his memorized script for a second.

I really thought Frankie should have won. He is by far the best suited of all of the candidates to run a building job site. He knows how to handle the Supervisors, Foreman, Vendors, OSHA, etc., he has the total personality to bring a job together with quality workmanship, and on time (HUGE issues BTW).
I have no idea why Nicole was even there; she's rough around the edges, has shown bad judgement and is extremely inarticulate.
James and Stefani, while both talented IMO, are not contractor material.
I'd like to see the next inception of this show have WAY less marketing tasks, and more focus on dealing with logistical tasks that are geared toward what the job would actually entail. I think conducting the process more like a real-life interview process for an organization like Trump would add to the flavor of the show as well. By the time someone is being considered for a position like that, the hiring team usually wants to see you, and your SO in a social setting to determine if you will be a good OVERALL fit in the organization. For example, how you handle alcohol, tense internal political situations, how your SO interacts with everyone, etc.
I would also like to see the show start out with more people, out of which 4 would be selected as team leaders. Out of those four, they would have the ability and authority to delegate roles within their teams, and even fire people if necessary. Based on their success rates, or lack thereof they could be fired or re-assigned back into the team (or another team's) dynamic as a support member - but would not be able to regain a management role with their original team. However they may still have the potential to move up in another team.
I think that would be a really interesting, and more realistic aproach to how they would actually function in an actual position at Trump.
Just my opinion! :D

First and foremost, welcome from a fellow newb.
I noticed this, too, but didn't think much of it at the time. I did a bit of googling and the consensus seems to be that James did an interview post-Apprentice/ pre-finale stating that being on The Apprentice would be great marketing for his company and that's why he signed up. (He also screamed out the name of his company AND Surya's company on air, which is a first as far as I can remember.) The Donald no likey, apparently.
And BTW- good luck with that, James! You looked like an incompetent boob 90% of the time, so I can't imagine someone would seek out your company based on the strength of your performance on a crappy reality TV show.

Thanks for the info Here4Beer. If James really didn't care about working for the Donald - then that would explain his completely bland performance at "the board room." It also suggests that someone from the production company gave him a "talking to" about Burnett's Code - which I understand is pretty rigorously enforced.

If The Apprentice is going to come back for another season they definately need FEWER canned-advertising excercises. When the final task (which dragged out over two weeks, such as it was) was creating ANOTHER commercial (what the hell is a mini-movie commercial anyway, and why were people watching them in a theater?) I am pretty sure I let out an audible groan. Hadn't we seen this task before? And are we destined to see two or three derivations of the SAME exercise in EVERY show? Apparently so.
If the show is going to go out with a BANG they will need to create new and INTERESTING tasks such that we NEVER hear a phrase like "TWO CHICKENS!" ever again.
What I'd like to see is teams develop and present two project sketchplans to a real live municipal planning board. That'd be fun...

Sorry to keep harping on about Apprentice UK, but their challenge last week was genius- Trump UK (Alan Sugar) just dropped by the house after the boardroom and gave each team 200 bucks. He then gave each team a territory and told them they had from 6am until 10pm the next day to earn as much money as possible. It was a good challenge- and wouldn't you know it; some of the girls started selling themselves out of desperation towards the end of the task. (Kisses only!)
Anyway, I thought it was a good idea, and made the teams show creativity and true business management skills. There was lots of bickering, too, which is always a good time.

My guess is that the producers pulled some tourists in off the street and told them they'd have a chance to be on TV if they came in and watched these two stupid commercials and acted like they gave a shit. It was pretty pointless since the "audience" didn't even vote and their opinion didn't count for anything. Ugg, the more I think about how much this show sucks now I get annoyed.
