I can't believe nobody started a thread about this episode yet. I expected to wake up and have five pages of posts to read.

Well, all I have to say is "WTF?" Oceanic flight 815 was found and had no survivors? WTF! WTF! WTF!!!!!!!

I still don't know why the Losties wanna live on the beach when there are hatches (with cribs) and cabins to choose from.

So I'm calling it right now- Parachute Pants is a plant. We never saw the helicopter, right? And the only lights they saw came from in the forest, not from the sky, right? She's buddies with Ol' One-eye and the other Others, and they're planting her to take Juliette's place when Juliette flakes out and goes back to Otherville.

What do you think? Could it work?

We did see a big splash in the water then a blinking red light in the sky.

So, the island boosts the boys' swimmers, thus making it more likely that the girls get knocked up, but then makes the ladies die when they do. And are all the women on the island of "breeding" age? Nine got pregnant in three years. How many Others are there? and USE CONDOMS OR THE PILL PEOPLE!!!!

Poor Kate. Though it's really stupid to have unprotected nookie with Sawyer of all people, who's admitted to sleeping with prosties, and has been in jail (being that pretty, you know he was somebody's bitch), I'm sure she only expected to catch crabs, or herpes. Syphilis at most.

On the other hand, he's so fucking hot, it might be worth the risk. :drool:

LOL I too was thinking that as Juliette finished recording that the camera would pan and we would see Sun's face. I was actually expecting Juliette to tell the truth in the tape recorder and that Sun indeed was pregnant but that it was from the other guy. This would make sense since Jin's dad took care of Jin even though he might not have been the father since he made it seem that his mom was dead. So Jin would take care of a kid that wasn't his and that Sun would wind up dead.

Also as for the ending, I don't think she was planted by the others. Maybe the plane did crash but the government or whatever took the people who were barely alive and brought them to the island (healing powers remember) and made it appear that they crashed on the island. The outside world however thinks that since their were no survivors found they must be dead.

O yeah I didn't get the Sun flashback involving her father. I thought Jin knew that her dad was a mobster so why would she try and blackmail her dad by saying she would reveal what he really does?

I really liked this episode!

For some reason, tonight I was thinking about the scene that took place right before Juliet's book club, when she burned the muffins. Then, when we found out she's lost nine pregnant patients I thought, "Hmm, something ALWAYS goes wrong when Juliet has buns in the oven!"

Patchy's alive. That is cool! I am intrigued.

This episode made me sad, too. I am happy for Sun in her pregnancy, and that the baby belongs to the "right" father but it kept reminding me that I am supposed to be in my second trimester but I'm not. I got really emotional.

I still can't help but wonder if Jin really is the father. I keep remembering the flashback in the airport and Sun telling Jin that she doesn't know why she is so hungry. It seemed like a throwaway line at the time but now it makes me think she was already pregnant when they got on the plane.

Silentfire--I think that Sun was threatening to reveal her father's mob activities to 'the public', newspapers, police? etc. Thats how I interpreted her threat.

As far as Kate getting STD's from Sawyer..... I thought i recalled him having condoms in his stash of contraband he's keeping from everyone. However, he seems like the type of guy who would have them & not want to use them.

I am VERY glad they are showing us Juliette's actions behind the backs of the survivors. The writers are clueing us in to whether she is on the side of the 'others' or the survivors which really adds a great dynamic to the story line.

I love this show & am glad I can come here to talk about it. None of my friends are into the show & its kindof too late to explain it to them.

I was convinced she was lying to Sun, too. If you wants to earn these people's trust one by one, telling a woman that her life and the life of her unborn child depend on you is a pretty good way to get her on your side. I thought the scene with all the accents was really, really funny. Desmond yelling at Charlie and Jin while the Portuguese girl is speaking in three different languages. And then a Russian runs up. It's a miracle this group managed to function at all.

I thought that Parachute Girl had an Australian accent. It was definitely a WTF episode but I can't understand how the writers will explain Patchy being alive unless he has an identical twin. I never thought about the pregnant Kate idea as far as Juliet needing a "sample", but I did think that when ParaGirl mentioned 815 being found that she meant they found the dead bodies too. Didn't she say- "they were all dead"?

They never showed Patch dying when Locke threw him into the current. He said 'thank you' and started foaming at the mouth, blood coming out of his ears as the current flowed thru him. He then collapsed on the ground. Locke said 'sorry' and walked away, leaving everyone standing there with their mouths open. Sayid seems to think he suffered a cerebrial hemmorage, but he's looking at Patchy from the other side of the force field. Once Kate gets over the field she goes to him and rolls him over on his back. Locke joins her, as he is over the field too. They both just look at him, then at each other. No one checks for vitals. The next scene is when they come onto Jack playing football.

This is the 'Clair' flashback where she meets 'daddy' and she finds out that Desmond keeps saving Charlie. He catches the bird on the rocks so she can send the stupid note.

That would explain why she had a picture of Des & Penny, but wasn't looking for Oceanic flight 815 at all. I also think that the Others managed to make it seem like flight 815 crashed with no survivors so no one would come looking for them and find the Other's island.

I'm not trying to upset any Pro-life people, but couldn't Sun have an abortion? She's still in her first trimester and her health is very much at risk. Wouldn't Juliet at least suggest it? I'm sure Sun won't do it, but someone could at least ask.

I agree with you angie on just about evrything you said. I think that the Others that died from pregnancy really WANTED to get pregnant so the abortion issue wouldn't be there, but in Sun's case- Jack or Juliet would be able to do the operation if she really wanted to have one.

Jins was SUCH a badass with his fight moves. So was Sun when you consider what she said to his mother.

Amniotic fluid contains fetal cells that would contain the baby's DNA - so the two questions are not mutually exclusive. She could be gathering both or either, depending on what she can get?

As a formerly pregnant woman, I'm actually more curious about the HOW - sticking a needle into a pregnant woman's belly is risky without ultrasound to determine the position of the fetus to make sure you're not aiming straight into the baby. It's probably not integral to the plot, but it captures my interest.

Here's my LOST question for the day. If Sun is about 58 days pregnant and they've been on the island 90 days, she got that way 32 days ago, right? Was Jin with the others then? If not, weren't Jin and Sun mad at each other? Didn't they get all lovey after he got back from being captured? I wish I could find some nerd who's kept a timeline on this stuff. (or at least a stringline like A-Hiro)

My apologies chooch. I misunderstood your point, but now I get what you were saying. Along those same lines, I read another point (on another blog) that makes sense as well. Why wouldn't Juliet have already KNOWN about Sun's affair? Didin't the Others have detailed dossiers on the backstories of the crash survivors? Was she lying about that too?
