I would love Flipit to recap this show. The host is a rageaholic, the contestants are clueless, and Flipit has restaurant experience. A recap made in bitchy heaven!

I am glad you are picking up TC3...... I thought another recapper had called out they had it.... but even if you don't cap Gordon... you have to watch him.... he is the chef in the kitchen....... screaming bullshit... and other favorite comments at the chefs as they try to get the food out..... he makes grown men cry... nothing I like better than that.

As a fan of reality TV you really should watch Gordon scream "You bloody donkey" at least once. If Flipit does do both shows it would rock!!

Goddamn I love this fucking show.

Anyone watch his shows on the BBC America? I saw somewhere that they are doing an American version of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmare for the fall. Any fans of Hell's Kitchen should check them out. And while he does scream at people, he is a lot less of a character on those shows and pretty f'n funny.

I am sitting back after watching the first of season 3 and wondering the following::::

Did FOX just take the short bus from my high school and pick up some of the same kids >>> years later?

Where did they find the Asain guy that cried his eyeballs out... and will he live more that two weeks in this kitchen?

Is the kidney patient a plant?

Could these women have been pissy to each other?

How do they ever run out of .............
food........?
Vegtable stock.....?
Brains.........?

When you get no food to eat at Hell's Kitchen... do you then go to Dennys?

Did Ramsey's Sou Chef get freaking pissed tonight too?

Was this a GREAT show or what?

I agreed with the person who got kicked.... had to go..... back stabber of grand porportions!

So tell what you thought..... I for one am happily settling into super summer programming.

So glad Tiffany is gone, what a fuckin' bitch. I was cracking up that these morons couldn't even fry an egg. Green risotto? Yum.

The other girl that was picked for elimination kinda reminded me of Vivica Fox...just less hot.

So far my faves are Bonnie and Melissa (who looks kind of like Lauren Holly). BTW, i'm basing this on looks mostly (entirely).

Did you see in the face of the African American Chef... no clue what his name is... when he came forward to present his 'signature dish' he had the gap tooth Melinda gee whiz look... he looked exactly like her... strange!

And BITCHIER, if that's even possible.

Christmas has come early! Hell's Kitchen is back!

You know, I can see why they wouldn't let Waffle House (Julia) cook an egg. I mean, she's probably only cooked one or A MILLION in her employment! Duh.

Already, Gordon will have to try hard to beat what should be the phrase of the season- "Hell's Bitches". I missed you, Chef!

Oh, and this is for the Asian Marlboro Man: :cowboy:

Vinnie, who doesn't know what "rubbish" means, thinks stock is the same as water, but had the smarminess to refer to Gordon as a shar pei (okay, I admit, I laughed) needs to get GRRR's size 15's up his ass.

Other than that, they're all just fodder for my mean-girl pleasure. Fuckin' donkeys.

Love you Gordon. Who chooses these idiots. I wouldn't let any of them cook dinner for my worst enemy. Well let me rethink that. Yes, especially my husband's exwife. Can't wait to see the guys get down on Aaron for being such a wimp. I bet he wears ladie's panties too.

Fuck me, but I love Gordon Ramsey.

The girls team looks like a bunch of back-stabbing mean girls. Why wouldn't they let the short order cook make the quail eggs? I'm sure she has the most experience cooking fried eggs for heaven's sake.

And what was it that tasted like gnat's piss? It looked like water.

Amazing. My roommate and I paused that episode to read Creed's blog and were cracking up. My favorite part:

"What do you guys think is the best kind of car? To me, you can't beat motorcycles. They're small, and dangerous."

also:

"Last week at beach day, we were standing around these hot coals and some woman I have literally never seen before in my life starting yapping about something regarding Halpert."

Ryabusa
06-05-2007, 05:21 PM
"some woman I have literally never seen before in my life" made literally laugh out loud. I think I even choked on something when I read it. The fact that he names "Halpert" in the same sentence makes it even funnier. Creed is fantastic.

Who went to the hospital????
Did the girls get the dinner out?
did the insane cowboy get the boot??
did the boots have spurs on them????

Ryabusa
06-12-2007, 10:29 AM
No one went to the hospital, those fuckers are teasing that, yet again, for next week. The girls busted their asses and finished the whole service! I think that is the first time since the show started that they got through a whole service before the fifth or sixth week. Chunky Monkey didn't even get nominated to go! rock got to pick the nominations and I really believe that the producers told him he wasn't allowed to pick Aaron. That dude is pure gold. So he nominated Eddie and Joshua. Gordon picked Eddie, told him to take his coat off, and then, in one of his most beautifully, decadently, flat-out mean moments just said: "Now fuck off." I rewound it like five times and laughed harder every time.

Thank you... the show is rigged if the Asian Cowboy did not go home........ what a crazy insane... "i think i passed out" freak!-- next week if he dies it will be the producers fault because they left his incapable ass there. Wow. That was mean. But I have to admit I stole that from the British version of The Office and I've been meaning to refer to Eddie as that for weeks. I just realized that may have been my last chance. And again, all in good fun. I'm reasonably certain you are not Eddie.

I just watched this show for the first time ever last night and I am not sure what to think. Given that I was laid up most of the day with a raging migraine and I found it somewhat entertaining, I guess that is somewhat of an endorsement. But frankly, none of these people seem very competent in a professional kitchen. Was it just an off night or are they all crappy cooks?

Ryabusa
06-19-2007, 06:20 AM
For some reason they always seem to cast two competent cooks and a bunch of fucking nitwits. You can usually pick out the good ones early. I am betting Melissa and Rock to be the final two.

That's why the food is so SALTY!

Read Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain if you want the skinny on what really happens in professional kitchens. In fact, you might become extremely skinny after reading it, if you aren't already.

okay, before we move on to this weeks disaster I thought about the spagetti incident and why she really should have gone home

1. It was Julia's station and she just decided to dump the spagetti why?

2. Julia didn't have time to say..'don't throw that out' before she quickley ran it over to the bin and dumped.

3. Who was she (wtf is her name?) to decide they had no more orders for spagetti?

4. Julia was just being handled once again by the pack of racist, classist bitches.

5. she pulled it out and thought that was fine.

6. she should have gone home........

and answer me this...
does the 'crew' parboil the spagetti?
because they seem to say they need 'three minutes' to cook more spagetti but it looks like to me that they handle dry when putting it in water.....
How come at home it take 11-13 minutes to cook dry noodles......
their water cannnot boil any hotter than mine.......
AND............
it time is such a huge ass factor why don't they simply use fresh noddles that are not dry.........
they cook very very fast!

on to the next show...........................

I fully support an awesome 80's thread. It's a rainy day here--go for it! :)

I have thought many times about changing my avatar, but then I get sad. It's kind of like how I think about trading in my old, banged-up car (she has been in one major accident and has had a tree fall on her, and I don't have the money to do any real body work on her), but I almost cry when I actually come close and I just keep her around. I don't really drive her though. Except my avatar is not banged-up. She rocks.

I have a question....are they there to learn to be chefs or are they chefs and they're there to learn to put out food quickly?.....while being screamed at and humiliated? It's entertaining but I have yet to see anything worth eating.

Julie....I agree, hair-nets on all these cooking shows should be a must..... and the fact that no one wears gloves is a strict health violation....but it's showbiz and I'm not eating it, so what do I care!

I thought Ramsey was gonna send Melissa right out the door when she went to the men's side to get some of their stuff cuz she spilled hers in water.....instead he ends up putting her on their team. Can't wait for the next episode!!!

DS....after Rach compliments you on your avatar, you changed it! I, personally, love Link more! He rocks!.... and in the 'other TV shows' thread, I think there is a topic on '80's shows. I remember everyone talking about them.

RachWho?

Chooch, I complimented her on her old avvie after she changed it to Link. Not that I don't love Link, but Vickie holds a special place in my heart.

Back on topic, though, some of them are supposedly already chefs in a sense...like sous chefs or line cooks, but none have their own restaurants nor do they appear to have a lot of experience, although Melissa took YEARS to learn ALL THE HERBS! (what? why? I knew most of them by the time I was a teenager thanks to the Frugal Gourmet) Others are not as trained in the chefery (see: Bonnie the Barbie Nanny).

I guess they are supposed to sharpen their skills and show that they are able to get quality food out quickly in a professional kitchen. Which so far I would say none of them have convinced me of.

I fully support an awesome 80's thread. It's a rainy day here--go for it! :)

Chooch is right - we do have an 80's thread, I can dig it up if you guys want.

I was wondering the same thing about Melissa.s soul patch, it was confusing and distracting me to the point where I couldn.t focus. And why was her hair so large last night? It was taking over her whole body!!

I loved when Gordon ripped on her and called her a cavewoman (I think) which had to be a dig on that wild scary hair of hers.

and yes her hair must be contained... but did you all notice last week... the ponytail... no ponytail editing.... she did wear it back when things got busy... but with edits she had it back and down about 4 times..... she reminded me of a hag witch........ hate!

HATE HATE HATE. Why the hell didn't any of the girls tell Melissa to shut the F up? I was actually screaming at me TV! Then when given the opportunity to tell her she sucks ass and needs to shut the F up, they bitch amongst themselves and let her off the hook AGAIN.

Good TV my ass. The viewers get sick of this crap and the producers better get their shit together. This may have worked in TV reality of past, but now it just makes viewers turn the channel.

Also, wasn't this the girliest epi ever? Girly reward and girly "punishment". I'd decorate a wedding hall all night over humping and peeling 1000 lbs of taters and onions or eating offal.

I agree, it was good to have her ripped down to size on her way out since Melissa was so high on herself in her interviews. I guess they kept her around that extra week to make up for the week they lost 2 people (aaron dropped out?).

And i agree, Gordon's accent is very sexy. And theres something about someone that critical and demanding that is a turn on and it just makes me want to please him. He reminds me of Simon Cowell.

And theres something about someone that critical and demanding that is a turn on and it just makes me want to please him. He reminds me of Simon Cowell.

I find the difference is, Simon tends to be critical often just for the sake of being an asshole. While I don't seem to mind it so much in the later stages of the show, in those early rounds, when there are a lot of people who don't have a hope in hell of making it and should just get a simple, "No thank you" (because what is the point of cutting them down?), I often find it excruciating to watch. Whereas I think with Gordon, we don't have to see those painful early rounds- the donkeys we see have already been chosen out of a pool of donkeys, so when they get yelled at, I think, "Well, you made it this far; you had to know what you were getting into."

The other difference I find is, a man having a passion for food is much more attractive than a man having a passion for money. I don't believe for a second that Simon is remotely interested in finding talent- he's interested in finding a money-maker. Whereas, whether it's true or not, I believe Gordon is genuinely interested in finding someone who is equally passionate about food as he is. The money he makes is nice, to be sure, but I never get the feeling that's why he's in the business.

And, well, I've met Gordon and he is sex on a stick. :tongue_smilie:

Are any of you ging to see the new movie "No Reservations".. it has Kathren Zada Jones... (spelling?? she is married to Michael Douglas) As 'Top Chef' in her own place with an orphan niece and a hot young man thrown in.. looks like a really good chick flick!

And yeah, Rock has pissed me off to the point I do not like him anymore... Go Julia!!! I love the way GR asked her what reflected her on the menu and when she had the balls to say nothing he let her add the #1 seller of the night. and I think with none of the girls cooking Rabbit before Julia was the one who came up with bacon wrapping it wasn't she??? I still believe that Julia has what it takes to win this thing. While she might not know all her spices (and my GOD, it took Melissay YEARS!), she's got good instincts, a good work ethic, an ability to catch on quickly (or so she's demonstrated), and a fantastic work ethic.

I can overlook lack of experience. She has the foundation and the drive. She can be taught the rest.

It's a competition...do you really think she would put herself up for elimination?

When Gordon doesn't like the nominations, he vetos them. He knew it was Julia's time to go. As much as we all love her, she is not ready for her own restaurant. Yes, she has to support her family, so she will either find a way to go to culinary school and then she will be so kick ass she won't need this lame-ass show to make it because Le Bec Fin will be begging her to sauce their duck (ooh that sounded kinky!) OR she will work her way up through fancier restaurants, earn her chops that way, and still kick all their asses. Either way, she has more natural talent than anyone, and you can't learn or earn that. She luckily is young enough and smart enough that she will get the other piece she needs to be a raving success. She just can't get that other piece fast enough to have her own restaurant by the end of this show.

Doesn't mean I'm not as sad to see her go as the rest of you.

I can't imagine that someone would actually hand Bonnie her own restaurant - but then I wonder how much of it is actually "their's"? I thought that I heard that Heather, season 2 winner, just had a stake in the place she runs, but isn't the owner? I agree with ya'll - Bonnie was relieved that she didn't win. She actually said that she was happy that Rock won. I don't recall seeing any other competition show where the second place winner is so happy for the winner.

I thought Bonnie was a cocky bitch the entire episode but she did handle losing very well.

She certainly handled it better that Julia!!

I agree with you guys. Julia can piss up a pole, what an incurable bitch she turned out to be. And Bonnie, I think, really seemed like a genuinely sweet enough person that she was legit-happy for Rock. It most certainly did not seem like she was saying that just to be nice. I think she proved herself, she just does not have the experience that Rock has.

I read on realityblurred.com today that she did an interview and says that her ultimate goal wasn't to win, but to gain more experience. I say if you can survive working for Gordon, you can pretty much make it anywhere.

Julie,

I find that when dealing with Ramsey withdrawl - try to watch one of his shows on BBC America - I prefer Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares, it's the best! And don't forget that this fall they are doing Kitchen Nightmares here in the US, on Fox I think.

Last night it was so weird when I went to the DVR and all that was recorded yesterday was As the World Turns, Guiding Light, Big Medicine and The Hills.

I LOVE Kitchen Nightmares on BBC. I'm looking forward to the one on FOX this fall, but I'm worried that they'll screw it up. It seems to me that the Gordon they show on FOX is way more of a jerk then he is on his BBC shows. Don't get me wrong, he's still a jerk, but it seems so much more amped up on Hell's Kitchen. Of course, we get to see that he has a heart near the end of the season, but still. I have to wonder if it's Gordon, if it's the editing, or if it's all in my head. :confused1:

I think that it has to be Gordon, you can't totally blame editing - and it can't be in your head, since we all see it. They use what you give them, so it's gotta be him, right?

Yeah, that makes sense. :D It does make me wonder why he chooses to be so much more abrasive in the US. I blame FOX (they'er such an easy target).

gordon really hates the us of a so his behavior follows that lead, i think we are wankers to him.
he is gentle with the Brits because they would crumble under an iron fist.
monday night was different but I watched whife swap and just shook my head... people are idiots

Where did you see a quote from Gordon saying he hates America? I don't believe that's true, or he wouldn't have bothered to come over here for 2 reality shows.

I'd tell him (them) to go first, that I'm right behind him (them)!

I just saw this at dlisted.com and had to share with you guys....

Gordon Ramsay said he was recently rushed to hospital after he burned his nutsack on a burner while cooking.

He said, "I burnt my right bollock and I'm in absolutely agony. You wouldn't believe how much this hurts. The other day I was standing too close to the hob when I was cooking. I was wearing these cotton trousers and underneath I was going commando. Suddenly I felt this searing heat. I went, 'Fuck me, bollocks to that', and for once I was spot on. My balls were burning."

"I went to the hospital because of the excruciating pain. I had an ultrasound and I get the results on Friday. People think I went in for a knee injury, but that's bollocks."

Toasted bullock is a delicacy in England, no?

But seriously, I didn't need to know he goes commando.

 That Gordon can certainly paint a vivid picture with his words.

Gordon wasn't actually the first choice to do Hells Kitchen.

When they devised the show over here, Marco Pierre White was the original choice for the show but when he pulled out they asked Gordon to do the show.

Gordon was a success, the show got sold to the US, and Gordon went with it.

The UK version has had different chefs each season.

Hells Kitchen 1 - Gordon Ramsey
Hells Kitchen 2 - Gary Rhodes & Jean-Christope Novelli
Hells Kitchen 3 - Marco Pierre White
