5/21 - Finals!!

So I'm talking to my mom last night & she was telling me all about her system for voting for Apolo. She calls on the home phone, her cell phone, my dad's cell phone, and then votes on the internet.

She's very distraught that it won't be enough. She still hasn't gotten over "her Mario" being robbed last season.

I just wanted to relay this so you'll see where I get it. I had no chance. No chance in the world of being normal.

At least we're routing for the same contestant. I shudder to think what would happen if I told her I was voting for Laila or FatOne.

After last night, I actually think the Fat One should win. However, I won't be disappointed if any of them win...unlike EVERY OTHER STUPID SHOW THIS SEASON. Boo to ANTM. Boo to Survivor. Boo to American Idol. You all suck.

Last night was dissappointing. No one danced as good as they could have. Laila looked beautiful but her first dance didn't wow me. I loved her free-style. They all had great free-styles, Apolo's was by far the best.......but I love Joey and I hope he wins.

.....and Kelly, Drew, and Emmett will be on the Finale tonight. Hope they dance.

I voted for Apolo as much as i could (not being home) but i did get a Joey fan to throw a few votes.

My friend got us tix to tonight's show, so I'll be the one who bum rushes Apolo after his dance. wooo, the way that boy moves! :sneaky2:

Tabby, I totally disagree! Thought it was the perfect result! Although, when it came down to it, I wouldn't have minded if Joey had won. He seemed to REEEEAAAALLLLY want it!

I was SO happy!!! My friends are all disappointed, though. They both were excellent and both deserved it, IMO. It's a refreshing change from other reality shows, IMO. (especiallyAIcoughcough)

I loved the whole show. It was wonderful to see all the fallen dancers......even tho I don't remember the first girl at all. It was great to see Kelly, Drew, and Emmett, but I wish they had danced.


.........and Joey didn't win........ oh well, I loved Apolo too, I'm fickle like that.

As a dancer myself (though not ballroom-specialized, I've taken a number of classes and can recognize good technique), Apolo and Julianne, who I think is absolutely adorable, rightfully earned the gaudy disco ball trophy. As a fan, I was glad to see one of my two favorites (Apolo & Joey) win it. Maybe this is a little stereotypical but Laila was too man-ish for me. She did have a certain grace and elegance about her when she danced but it wasn't the grace and elegance that you look for in a dancer. Granted, she was very good but... I don't really know, it's kind of hard to explain. She was very aware of her body and that's a good thing but the way she moved just seemed awkward and unnatural for her? I don't think I'm saying that right. Anyway, yay for Apolo!

I don't know--I figure it's a show that appeals to women more, and women may be more likely to vote for an attractive man than a woman. Vice versa, if it was a show that appealed to men, a good looking woman would have an advantage. I think Kelly won the first season because she had the soap opera pull, which works well when most of the viewing audience is women.

The women need to dance better than the professional women and that is soooo hard to do. Every one on the show agrees that the dance steps are harder and more demanding for the women. When I watch, I tend to watch the female dancer. Laila was a great dancer, just not as good as the girl pros.
