The Idol concert in Houston last night was fantastic. I'm pleased to say that Blake recieved far louder cheers than Miss American Idol herself, Jordin. Sanjaya was actually good (I never thought I'd say that) and managed to pull off Michael Jackson without being entirely too cheesy, Lakisha blew Whitney Houston out of the water, Phil's rendition of America the Beautiful was incredible and chilling, Chris Sligh is a badass guitar/bass player, Melinda's Natural Woman, Chris Rich seemed to be in the whole show and is heartstoppingly charismatic in person, Haley was pleasant and cute but forgettable, Gina shocked the hell out of me with her performance of Who Knew because she was so good, Jordin is really pretty in person and sang decently but of course, Blake was the highlight of the show for me with more advanced dance moves and ridiculously sick beatboxing.

Other highlights:

- Blake comes out on stage before the show starts in a janitor's outfit, complete with blonde wig and dark mustache. No one picks up on it except for a few, including myself. Aha.
- American Idol Band: Chris Rich (drums), Sanjaya (guitar/tambourine), Chris Sligh (guitar/bass), Blake (guitar) and Phil (keyboard). Gnarls Barkley has nothing on their rendition of Crazy. Their Hey Jude performance was decent as well. And the tour band actually does sit this one out so the boys have the stage presence completely to themselves.
-Jordin's A Broken Wing was surprisingly good live. I love the song and Martina's one of my favorite singers. I didn't like it when Jordin did it on the show but she did great on tour.
-Sanjaya held his own against Melinda during Proud Mary, where Melinda could have easily overpowered him.

That's about it, I think. I had fun. I'm sore now, but I had fun. ;*)
