So the nominations for the 2007 Emmys are out, and there are some I agree with and some I don't.

For heavens sake, though, someone please tell me I am not alone here...when there are actually good shows on television WHY OH WHY does the academy nominate a show like Two and a Half Men for anything, much less BEST COMEDY? How could it beat out a show like Weeds for best comedy? I mean honestly?!? And I am sure you guys can think of a zillion others that would be better options. And then there's Charlie Sheen as a nominee for best leading actor in a comedy.

To see all the nominees, go here: http://www.emmys.org/awards/2007pt/59thnominations.php

Anyone else have any thoughts about the nominations?

I am pissy that Lauren Graham didn't receive a nomination again - she is fierce on Gilmore Girls and I hate that she hasn't been recognized. Glad Heroes got some Emmy love!

Word to all that. It's like the nominators don't actually watch TV. Peter Berg got a Directing nom for Friday Night Lights, but the show should have received some acting noms, IMO. Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton both deserve nods for their acting. And Grey's Anatomy gets nom'd for outstanding drama, but FNL doesn't? Grey's completely blew last season. Whatevs.

Boo: Grey's Anatomy, no Lauren Graham

Yay: Elaine Stritch, Alec Baldwin, Lewis Black, Masi Oka, Judy
Davis, Denis Leary, Michael Emerson, Dick in a box

I'm with you Bevo. "FNL" got screwed. I'm a "Sopranos" fan, but this past season was totally undeserving of all those nominations. "FNL" definitely deserved some writing and acting noms.

And I agree with anyone who is pissed about Lauren Graham and Kristen Bell being overlooked. For crying out loud. grr

They don't. They just watch small clips of the show. QED. And it stinks.

I have come to the conclusion that Secrest has pictures of a top Hollywood studio owner fondling small children or something along those lines. It seems there are certain people that Hollywood 'wants' to be stars despite no particular talent: Secrest, Dan Cortese, Chelsea Handler, Anthony Michael Hall and Jim Belushi to name a few.

OMG - Birdie - I met Dan Cortese 10 years ago when the Super Bowl was in Miami. It was on the field about a half hour before kick off and he looked at me and told me to get him a drink - I didn't know who he was at first - then it dawned on me - I said sorry I don't work here I am a guest - he said oohhh I didn't realized they let other people beside workers and celebrities on the field - me being a young 18 looked at him and walked away - looking back I should have said I didn't either, who are you again - but I didn't!

This is the teeny bopper in me coming out, but I hope "So You Think You Can Dance" wins best choreography b/c Wade Robson is the choreographer and I so loved him back in the day. He was on all the Making the Videos for NSync and Britney and stuff like that. He had his own show for a while... AND I think that Britney cheated on Justin with Wade... hence where she is now in life.

I noticed they have the show then a specific episode listed. How do they decide which episode gets to compete? It's all very strange to me. I don't agree with any award show that doesn't let the public vote. What does the academy know anyway?

When you submit to be considered you usually submit one episode. Thats where they get the clip they use at the ceremony.

my favorite part of all the award shows with the exception of i guess teen choice is, its all the people who are in the industry voting for each other. For example the oscars are awarded by the academy which membership is made up of everyone in the industry with the largest bloc of voters being actors. In my opinion its just a fancy way for hollywood people to pat each other on the back, when the people, meaning us moviegoers should be voting, and yes i know we semi-vote with our money at theaters, but that isnt enough because now adays even a box office bomb can make good money when you factor in overseas and dvds etc etc

Do you guys REALLY want the public to vote on stuff like this? Do you KNOW who is in the public? That crazy guy who admitted to killing Jon Benet Ramsey, even though he didn't, is in the public. Larry the Cable Guy, he's in the public too. The public voted to keep Dick in the house by evicting Dustin. The public voted Taylor Hicks as the winner of American Idol. I'm just sayin.

Good point! I guess i'm just sayin that the awards would be have more value if they werent awarded to the hollywood people by the hollywood people.....instead they award themselves then pat themselves on the back, and get paid more after that because they got that award. Yeah the public is scary, just look at the dumbest criminals, jaywalking on the tonight show, and miss south carolina......i fear for humanitys future:(

The Emmy's are tonight and I'm gonna be watching them. I will probably surf while keeping my eye on the winners. I will definitly be watching the red carpet beforehand. I LOVE seeing what those whores are wearing. I'm watching the TV Guide channel with Joey Fatone and that soap opera bitch with the huge lips. My buddy, Ross Mathews, will be helping them. I will give you my choices for Best and Worst dressed after the show.

........ where did Joan Rivers go???? Is she even on tonight?

Hi everyone!

Here I am at the Emmy's and I'm so excited to rub elbows witha ll these TV people.

The pre-pre red carpet show had those two annoying girls from "Idol Chat". Remember.... that's the show Flipit was on. They're both trying to be glamourous. Kimberly Caldwell is wearing a white V-neck wrap around type dress and Rosanna Taverez is wearing almost the same style but in red. Kim has 'Daniele' bangs and a long, fake ponytail over her right shoulder. Rosa has her hair pulled back with her long, fake ponytail over her left shoulder. The only reason I'm watching these two is because my buddy Ross is going to be on the show. I couldn't take those scanky bitches, so I just taped the whole thing and went back and FF'd to Ross's segments.

Ross was so cute in his tux, but I think it was a tad small. He's lost a tremendous amount of weight and is thin as a rail but his jacket didn't fit right. The sleeves were too short and you could see his shirt hanging out the bottom. Not good. Oh well, he showed us where the celebs came in, went thru security and down the red carpet. He also showed us the stars porta-potties. He took us on a tour of what happens after a nominee wins and where they go for pics and interviews. He did a great job and was very funny.

Ok, enough of the Ross bullshit..... I'm here for fashion and fashion only!

It's going to be a long night.

One of the first to arrive is Mario Lopez and he's absolutely fabulous. He hasn't got a date tho. Is he still with his dance partner from DWTS or was that just a fling?

Oh good lord... Judith Lighht from Ugly Betty.... yuk, old people shouldn't wear strapless gowns. Her armpit fat is bulging over the top..... her hair looks like she just got out of bed and peachy-white just makes her look more wrinkly and old.

Daniel (don't know real name) from UB is right behind her.... his old lady is wearing a brown satiny drapey thing... let's move on....

The brown-haired chick from CSI Miami.... tuxedo top without sleeves with a cumberbun belt and a black slim skirt bottom.... not bad

Eva Longorna from Desperate Housewives ...... yucky-pooo. She looks like the gold tinsel from the xmas tree.... come on.... and it's knee length...

Sylar is wearing a charcoal gray suit and black tie

I saw Debra Messing... just a glimpse....they say she's the "height of fashion".... she's never made me go "WOW" and from what I saw... it ain't happenin' tonight. Strapless light colored dress (can't tell if it's off-white, beige, or peach, maybe even pale pink) with a black strip around the top.

No one seems to be wearing full skirted gowns... all are form-fitting in soft materials.

OH GOD THAT'S UGLY...... Sarah Chalke may just make my worst dressed list already.....some lavendery-beige yucky thing with v-neck ruffles going down the front all the way to the bottom and a chinzy gold belt..... oh lord.... wait till you see it for yourself!

Oh there's Padma on the red carpet.... she saved my eyes! Classic white gown with thin staps. She looks wonderful!

chooch850
09-16-2007, 04:33 PM
Jennifer Love-Hewitt looks great in a strapless navy dress or maybe it's black.... it has sparklies on the top half. Her hair is down and kinda messy.

Al Gore is there.

Padma has some great jewels around her neck....look like very expensive diamonds...

Ana Ortiz, Ugly Betty's sister is sooooo hot in her strapless gown. She could be my best dressed. WOW I wishI looked like her. It's black and sleek and flares out just a bit at the bottom. It is to die for!

chooch850
09-16-2007, 04:46 PM
Another Yuck!! Minnie Driver.... but she never looks good at award shows.... yellow....low cut....awful...

Sally Field is wearing a strapless, empire waist fushia clored gown. She looks classy. She's skinny so she doesn't have underarm fat. Her hair is down in the hair style she wears in her Boriva ads. (those once a month calsium pills)

Oh... Kathy Griffen is here tonight with a heavy set guy with a beard. I say her with him on a gossip site... they must be going steady. Do you guys think she's here tonight to apologize to Jesus? She's wearinng a brown thin stapped gown and has her hhair up. She looks really nice. Do you think she'll behave tonight. I hope not. .... but I do miss old hubby Matt....too bad he was a thief.

I'm watching FOX now. The Kluminator was just on and her lipstick clashed big time with her dress. Hooker red matt lipstick with a maroonish/ brownish dress.
It didn't work at all...

Cuddy from "House" is the first I've seen in red tonight. .... halter style gown... very flowing and feminine.... I give her a "9". Her hair is done up and it looks good to see her in something so pretty after watching her on TV in those riddiculous tweed suits.

Geezzz... Debra Messing again.... Long hair to one side with a really long diamond earring in the uncovered ear... don't know if she's wearing a match....

America (Ugly Betty) is wearing a royal blue strapless gown.

Hayden has arrived with, I hope, her dad. I don't like her gownn. It's almost a nude color. Little straps and a fitted bodice, empire waist that explodes into this wrinkled looking full skirt. Not good...... her hair is up.

I must end my red carpet play-by-play... hope someone read it..... see ya

From what I'm hearing this morning - that was FOX's (stupid) method of censoring comments they didn't want aired, such as Sally Field's comment about "If mothers ran the world there would be no goddamn wars" - one of those technical difficulties came when she said goddamn.
