On Monday, I learned that Wyoming is actually the most boring state to drive through, not Kansas as I had previously believed.
Also on Monday, I learned that it is not necessary for anybody to live within a hundred-mile radius, it is still possible to encounter a traffic jam.
Last week I learned that it is much easier to buy a new outfit at Wal-mart than try to find clean clothes in a packed truck.
RachWho?

Those are important lessons, Pek.
Along those lines, my sister learned, when she was about 25, that the state is called Wyoming and not Wyomee, as she had believed. I should mention that she is a PhD candidate, tenure-track professor.

I learned that trees are either hardwood (oak, maple, hickory) or softwood (like pine). Hardwood trees grow very slow, softwood trees grow very fast. Hardwood firewood burns slower and longer, softwood firewood burns very fast and very hot.

I learned today that the '10th planet' Xena and her moon Gabriella were given new names. Planet Xena is now Eris and her moon is named Dysnomia.
Eris is the Greek goddess of strife and discord. She stirs up jealousy and envy to cause fighting and anger among men.
Eris appeared in her Latin version of Discordia as a recurring character on Xena: Warrior Princess."

I was a huge fan of the "Hercules" series as well as "Xena, Warrior Princess", so I was thrilled when they named the planet Xena.

Who said anything about a bedroom? This dance takes place on the edge of the wetlands. Just watch out for marsh grass-it's awfully sharp!

I learned that if you want to cut calories you should have your salad dressing on the side, dip your empty fork in the dressing, then take a bite of salad. You get the flavor in every bite without all the calories.
