why were all the events changed to being over water? i like it but it seems like getting all wet might be a problem in like Hang Tough and other events. the new eliminator was RIDICULOUS! i was tired just watching it!

OMG!!! If I can't have The Office, at least I can double over laughing at Toa's chants and Wolf's Howls. Awesome awesome family fun. It's like the WWE but only slightly less fake.

The guys last night SUCKED! They could NOT make it up the treadmill thing to save their lives. I thought we were going to go into double digits there.
And Wolf's howls are so fucking annoying I am thinking of writing a letter to NBC.

I was thinking it was probably a safety thing. I would imagine it's safer to fall into water than onto mats. Falling into mats they still run the risk of landing wrong and breaking something or having a concussion from having their heads bounce hard on them.

Plus it probably makes for a more dramatic replay - a big splash and all.
As for Wolf's howls, I find them hilarious - mostly because my husband cracks up every time he does it, and my husband has the best laugh ever. Only two other things make him laugh like that - The Simpsons and The Office.
As for me, when Toa did his fake-chanting the first night I laughed so hard I cried. Oh! And Toddler Pek loves this show - we all get so into it, and he mimics the clapping on TV and starts yelling at the screen, but he's still too young to follow the action so he yells at all the wrong times, and that's hilarious too. Come to think of it, this is the funniest show on TV right now.

Yeah, Toa did the Haka (which the New Zealand Rugby team does to intimidate the other team before the match starts)....it's cool when they do it, but I found it odd when I watched it on AG.

My boyfriend loves Wolf.s howls, as does my room mate. My dog freaks out and starts barking. It.s been funny the first two episodes, but I have a feeling it.s going to get old...soon.

i think the female host may be a tranny.
i want the old theme song back!
i think the challeneges are revamped and grueling and sweet! well except the one where the gladiator is shooting at you with tennis balls. there's just too much going on with the lights and set and shit. kinda distracting.
i want to learn more about the gladiators. they are very funny.
and i want cameos from the old gladiators. ice was a hottie.

nurseratched..... glad to see you, you've been missed..... please join us for BB9 in February!!!! We'll have so much to talk about......
I love the Gladiators and the fact that they kept alot of the challenges the same was great. The water reminds me of "Ninja Warriors" and their water pits, only theirs are muddy.

we almost saw all of Militia's hinney!!!
i think they could tone down the hulkster, brother! seriously, he said brother 4 times in one interview. plus i dont think that we need an interview with the contestants after every event!

I wish they would bring back Mike Adamle - he was so perfectly self-important with his crazy-wide neck and non-moving hair.
Did any of you catch Ty Murray's Bull Riding Challenge? Nitro was on it and he looked like a raisin (you know - cuz a grape is all big and pumped up and a raisin is all shriveled up, tan and wrinkly)

Only watched the first show, got the 2nd episode waiting to be watched but with Big Brother and Ghost Whisperer on tonight it has had to wait until tomorrow, glad to see it back.
I loved the British Gladiators show and used to watch the US version when it was shown over here as well and enjoyed it when they done the International one with competitors and gladiators from around the world.
I don't think much of Wolf on the show, but thats probably because for me there is only 1 Wolf and thats the one who was on our verison.
One of the new games, Hit & Run? was originally on our show as well.
Hopefully TV networks over here will take note if the show is a success and bring ours back as well.

I watched it last night. It was amusing but please stop with the cheesy quotes. And Wolf? He sounded more like a hoarse rat there at the end. And he looks very very odd. LOL> I like it though. But those women scare me. Yikes.

Oh my, I have been LOVING this show! It is too much fun to watch. I love it when Wolf howls (although he does it a little too often) because I often howl randomly, too. Usually when I see that the moon is full. I have no idea why, it is something I have done most of my life. I'm weird. So it makes me laugh when Wolf howls. My absolute favorite is Crush. She is awesome, and hot. I have a girl crush!

I thought when i seen Toa on the show that he had a bit of a look of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, just seen that he's his cousin.

How awesome is Monica? That little soccer mom kicked butt and has the lowest Eliminator time of ANY contender to date, male or female. I was very impressed!

Last night's episode was just meh. Even though Evan got the best score in the Eliminator to date, the contestants weren't very exciting and I didn't find myself really rooting for (or against) anyone. Hopefully it will be better next week.

i wouldnt want to do that travalator thing with no shoes on like that one chick. the other parts were probably okay but i bet that one would hurt! the women seemed so drained by the end of the eliminator.

Yeah--so I guess one of her shoes fell off and she took the other one off because it was easier to be totally shoe less than halfsies?

Another so-so episode last week. I was rooting for the 46 year old woman, but she didn't quite make it. I wonder if the woman in the audience with her kids was her girlfriend. They never mentioned any kind of significant other-just that she has two kids.

Actually, I used to know Toni. She is a lesbian but is no longer involved with the two girl's mother. I haven't seen her in years but I was pleased to see that she was still in her girl's lives since it was my understanding that they were Anne's biological children.

As well as being Dave Navarro's (a la Jane's Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers and former Mr. Carmen Electra fame) little brother. The man is well-connected!

I like Monica, too. I was rooting for her from her first night on.
Did anyone notice that early in the season, someone was disqualified on Joust for putting both knees down on the platform, but in the grand finale, Shanay had both her knees down several times and they never called her on it or disqualified her? I wonder why.

It was a gladiator that lost when went down on her knees, Shanay done the same the last time in Joust and didn't get disqualified then either.

Really? Thanks for clarifying that. I think the rules should be the same for everyone, though.

Anyone watch the season premier this week?
Really admired John for doing it despite only having 1 leg.

i watched most of it. I felt bad for John when he was on the cargo net at the end. All that aside, he did an amazing job!
any thoughts on the new eliminator and games? the new gladiators that used to be contestants were funny. they stood out like a sore thumb compared to the regular gladiators. Not so much Jet but Rocket is so skinny compared to Titan or Wolf.

Of the 2 new games that were on, the first one where they had to put the balls in the basket was similar to a game we had on our original show where they had to bounce down and collect balls from a pole in the middle. The 2nd one, Vertigo, i thought had been an old game from American Gladiators because ive seen that one before, if it wasn't on the US one it must have been on the UK one.
The new gladiators, i didn't think much of Jet and i can't remember her from last season. It was hard to tell on Rocket as he has only done 1 event and that was the wall where if i remember right he used to break the record time on it last season.

yeah the one with the balls was similar to an old one in the US. Vertigo must have been from the UK because i dont remember it and i used to watch gladiators all the time!
they need to put the travelator at the beginning of the eliminator. I'm afraid that the people are going to drown in the water at the finish line!

Just looked it up and yes Vertigo was originally on the UK show along with Hit & Run from season 1 and a new game coming in season 2 - Tilt.
The UK show started again on Sunday night, they have copied the US show with the games over water and also the Eliminator was similar to the US one in season one.
