Oh I loved it! I jumped a mile and a half when Hurley was seeing Jacob's cabin and then the EYE and Charlie was so cute and then it was sad and Jack pulled the trigger! OMG! OMG! OMG!
I'll be more coherent tomorrow I'm too excited right now!

This show continues to create more questions than answers. Who is the "Oceanic 6"? We know Jack, Kate, and Hurley are three of them, so who are the other 3 and why are there no more? How many are still alive on the island and who is dead? Why did Hurley tell Jack he should have stayed with him instead of going with Locke? Were the people who stayed with Jack killed?
I am so happy this show is back so I can lay in my bed at night trying to figure this all out. It was so sad when Hurley told Clair about Charlie. Sawyer was even bummed. I knew we'd see Charlie this episode 'cuz his name was in the opening credits, but alas, it was as a ghost. He didn't miraculously survive. Did anyone else just want to smack Jack on the island when he wouldn't listen to Kate.
This episode gave me almost everything I asked for and left me wanting more..... that's what LOST is all about.

My brain is over-loaded! I am so used to flashbacks that I am having a hard time adjusting to these flashforwards.
Chooch, I wanted to smack Kate as first when they were disagreeing over which trail to take... until Ben revealed that Kate had taken Jack's phone... then I wanted to kiss her.
So, gasmiis.... Team Locke or Team Jack?

I don't know why I love the fact that this show confuses me so much, because I'm a control freak and I really don't like not knowing the answers in general. But last night, opening scene, and I'm thinking "Yes! I'm confused already!!!"
Then hubby turns to me and says "I dunno, I think I might be over it" - so I'm going to be very busy today, what with the lawyers and divorce papers.

LOL. poor hubby didn't stand a chance after that comment.
i didn't realize the 2 hour premiere "event" included a recap. good thing though cuz i was late getting home and had forgotten to set my new HD Tivo... phew.
no one does recaps better than Lost. that thing was brilliant.

Does anyone else think that 'George' who parachuted in looked very familiar? The way the camera lingered on him when he took his helmet off made me think that we are suppossed to recognize him. But then again, maybe my old Lost paranoia is kicking back in ;)

PDS I love you. I swear I do. And I'm happy to see you. I really am. But could you please for the love of mental illness GET RID OF DANIELE? :p
*Dear Lord please let there be a skinny NON whiney girl for PDS to obsess over on BB9*
And as far as last nights episode, I still cannot form a coherent explanmation for what I am feeling! Just WOW.
Pek, I might be headed for divorce too because when Hubby came home he was too "tired" to watch the episode. How is that even possible?

I have this private little test for LOST - I always see if it is going to be so good that something will make me jump up from a laying down position to sitting and then jump from sitting to standing.
LOST manages to do it EVERY Single episode. Yipes that cabin scene with Hurley was freaky.
It's funny how I forget how really big Hurley is - but when they do a close up his face really fills the entire screen.
I agree with PDS - LOST does the best recaps ever. As if I wasn't already fired up for last night's premiere, the recap had me goosebumping with anticipation.
Jack - my darling Jack - looks so much better without his beard. I'm dying to know what Jack is afraid Hurley might reveal. And who was Hurley's visitor? Someone from Dharma? An Other? Or one of these freighter folks? Do we even have a name for the freighter people?
And Penny Widmore - how did she just happen to be right by the computer to talk to Charlie. Poor Charlie. :(
Will the one-eyed dude be back? And if he comes back will he be after Ben?
I loved when Ben said to Jack "Jack, if it's ok with you, I'd prefer to go with John." So polite you little sociopath.

This was an awesome episode and when it was over, I was wanting MORE!
I am hoping that Charlie's return as a ghost won't turn out to be lame and cheesy later on. When he said he was dead, but still there with Hurley, I was thinking, "That's kind of dumb" but hopefully the show can make it work. I didn't think Charlie really needed to slap Hurley to show him he was there, since another person also could see Charlie.
I am DYING to know what happens with the Jack camp vs. the Locke camp. Hurley told Jack that he (Hurley) should have gone with Jack which makes me think Jack and company were safe, and not in danger of being killed by the rescuers. Or maybe Hurley means he should have been with Jack even if something bad did happen because he realized too late that his loyalties should have been with Jack and not with Locke. I'm driving myself crazy! Then I think the Locke camp had the right idea to get away from the rescuers because Ben and Alex went with them and Ben had told Danielle to get Alex away from the rescuers. I believe Ben wants to protect Alex because he once said he wanted to make sure she didn't get pregnant so she wouldn't die. If he was telling the truth when he said that then he must honestly believe that the rescuers are bad. So if the rescuers ARE bad then what happened to everyone in the Locke camp to make Hurley wish he had stayed with Jack?? I am making myself crazy here!
What ever happened to the kids, anyway? I read a brief interview with Michael Emerson where he said everyone is divided up into different groups and kind of nomadically roaming around the island. So if everyone is uprooted where is Richard, and where are the kids? Have we just not seen them yet or are they gone or dead?
If Charlie can come back from the dead to talk to Hurley then is Locke dead, too? He got shot right in the gut by Ben but then Walt came and told Locke he needed to get up-he had important things to do. So is he dead? Was Locke's eye the eye that Hurley saw in Jacob's hut? It seemed like there were two "people" in there-Jacob in the chair and Locke at the window-maybe?
I can't imagine what is going to happen next but I can't wait. Lost is BACK, baby!

LOL. When you're ready to get back in the dating pool, I know several single Lost fans that you might like, Pek.
I thought this was a fantastic first episode. I am loving the flash forwards, I was so over the flashbacks. Hurley is so cute when he's trying to ignore his "visions". The black guy who visited Hurley is on another of my favorite shows, The Wire. I was like, Cedric, why are you being so mean to Hurley?
My favorite little bit of the show was when Henry was talking to Rousseau and she punched him in the face for calling Alex his daughter.
I cried like a baby when Hurley told Clair Charlie was dead. It was so sad, even though the actress playing Clair acted like she just heard someone lost their credit card or something. I never realized what a terrible actor she is before.
Can't wait to see what drama the new freighter people bring!

Now that those pop ups filled us in on some of the motivations of the director and writers, i am seeing more Star Wars connections. Walt talking to Locke and Charlie talking to Hurly is very reminiscent of Obi Wan guiding Luke on his quests.

I thought it was the one-eyed dude who blew up Charlie. Wouldn't he have died, too?

I don't think anyone saw Charlie. And Hurley made him go away by counting to five, so doesn't that imply he was a figment of Hurley's imagination? Hmmm, Hurley also made the mysterious shack go away, too. They made us think that Hurley imagined the shack was moving every time he turned to get away, but maybe it WAS moving and maybe Hurley made it stop. Oh, that sounds stupid when I write it, but in my head it sounded really good.
Actually we have a thread for LOST spoilers. Many of us like to keep our LOST experiences as pure as possible.
Take heart. They were probably wrong, tink. Nobody knows what's in the minds of those crazy writer/producer/whoever dudes. Damon, Carlton, whatever.

I really thought someone told Hurley, "That guy is staring at you" or something like that, and pointed, and when Hurley looked, Charlie was standing there.

You are right Lonna. A guy in a housecoat pointed out to Hurley that someone was staring at him, then Charlie came walking up to him.
I rewatched the show this afternoon and I'm curiuos about the Jacob's cabin scenes. The cabin was dark at first and then a light came on. That's what caused Hurley to go take a look inside. When I watched the first time, I thought or assumed it was Locke's eye that startled him. On second viewing, it's apparent that it's not. Now I have a new question.... who's eye was it? .... and Hurley turning and seeing the cabin in another place, well, remember there is an ash ring around the area... kinda voodoo type stuff... I'm grasping at straws here.....
One final question.... do you guys think the last scene with Jack and Hurley happened before Jack's big suicide attempt so now we have flashbacks of the flashforwards.....

One final question.... do you guys think the last scene with Jack and Hurley happened before Jack's big suicide attempt so now we have flashbacks of the flashforwards.....
I think it is pre-Jack suicide attempt. When Jack told Hurley "I'm thinking about growing a beard." was the big tip-off for me.
Here is a crazy idea I thought of at work today: (hey... it's Friday... did you expect me to actually do anything?): Remember that newspaper clipping that Future Jack was reading and crying about? Wasn't it about someone driving all crazy and killing themselves? This episode, we saw Hurley driving all nuts. He told Jack that he needs to go back. Maybe Hurley ends up "commiting suicide" to get back to the island. Future bearded Jack thinks about throwing himself off a bridge in order to get back too.
Of course, this would mean the island is like a purgatory, which the writers have denied. And that it was Hurley in the coffin at the funeral home... it was WAY too small! Just a thought though.
Ahhh... how I have missed my racking my brain with conspiracy theories about this show! Welcome back, LOST.

I watched Eli Stone and I really liked it. Why couldn't you force yourself to watch it?
Anyway, yes, I saw the commercial. Too bad I can't remember it. I think they were talking about a contest and the winner can go anywhere in the world, then they gave a website to visit to sign up. I think they're just trying to recreate the excitement of the Lost game from a couple of years ago.
