Anyone else watch this show on A&E on Sunday nights? I caught it one night and have been kinda addicted to it in an incredibly odd way ever since. The people on the show annoy me in the way only rich, southern, cocky real estate folks can but it's impossible to look away and the show is kept pretty interesting.

Yes! I love this show too! I know what you mean about Richard. I think I'd hate him in real life but he's ok on TV.

Did you see the one where they flipped The Crab Shack? I think that is my favorite.

I love all these home makeover shows. I also like Sell This House, Clean Sweep and that one on HGTV with that British guy, Clive, and that short lady, Lisa Laporta. My new favorite home show is called National Open House. It's on HGTV and they compare homes in various price ranges all across the country. I love it. Real estate is like my porn.

Is this the one based in North Carolina (I think)? My sister turned me on to it. If I'm thinking of the right one, it has the brunette who wears heels all the time & bought herself a little dog & she seems to have a knack for buying really crappy places. (All for the good of the show, of course.) Then there's the blonde who just had a baby & can really bust the guys balls but also keeps them in line when they bicker. And the two guys are somewhat arrogant but funny, & the one guy likes to show off his helicopter. I never know when it's on but sister always seems to be able to find it on some cable channel when she's over. It is kind of addicting.

Yep. That's the one. Ginger is the girl that is always dressed to the nines. I mean honestly, who goes to a construction site in stilettos? It's fairly ridiculous but I guess she's the white collar end of the business.

I know, the first show I watched Ginger went to "help out" because they were behind schedule. (Big surprise) She did wear jeans & a T-shirt, but then she had frickin' stilettos on! Oh well, I guess if you're on tv...

That's the show!

Has anyone else ever noticed that in almost every scene someone is carrying around a drink from a fast food place?

...just something I picked up on.

I do have to say, for as annoying as they can be, they do a damn good job on those houses. And the crab shack. Watching that episode made me hungry.

I loved the beach house they did recently. Although they sold it for over a million... just a bit outta my price range.

I used to watch this show when they aired reruns along with Sell This House (one of my favorite home shows, by the way) on Sunday afternoons. I didn't have a clue it was actually a current show and that it aired during prime time. I know a lot of time and expense goes into flipping a house, but it sure does make it look like any of us can do it too, doesn't it? Some of the people on these shows (like the one on TLC) make more in one flip than I do in a whole year. :(

What they show on Sundays are actually reruns of the last season. The first run episodes used to run on Tuesday night at 8pm est. I don't know if they are doing another season or not, but I hope so, because my husband and I both love watching it.

Initially, I liked this show. But then it became more & more scripted, and eventually I couldn't even stand to watch it any more.

I think it has POTENTIAL to be a great show...I like the concept. But as it's been done, it wasn't good (IMO).

They had a commerical tonight that said that there is a new season debuting soon. The commercial said it was a "new look" or something along those lines so I hope it's still about the Trademark Properties group. They're starting to grow on me...

I enjoy watching this show, too. I don't mind the southern accents 'cause I have a pretty strong one myself.

Grossest flip they did was on a house where this older woman lived that had been standing "as is" since she passed. Roaches - I mean water bugs - were everywhere. Personal stuff had to be shoveled out the doors and windows. They even threw away the entire refrigerator (rotted food and all). Nasty!! The end result was amazing.

Funniest flip was when Richard and the burly construction guy staked out one of the flip houses trying to catch a thief. They were sitting in the cab of a truck in the wee hours of the morning drinking beer, after beer, after beer. The thief showed up, but they didn't catch him. True southern vigilantes

I saw the beachhouse flip. Turned out nice, but I couldn't get over the fact that they used grout to put down the hardwood floors. Wonder if that's the way it has to be down on ocean property, so it won't buckle?

International Househunters is a show that I will usually stop to watch while I'm channel surfing. I think a condo in Sao Paulo, ocean front home in Belize, or a nice historic home on the Seine River would be great places to live.

There's another show I liked to watch on TLC that I haven't seen on in a long time. It was called In a Fix. Anybody else watch that show?

Wasn't In a Fix the one where they made the homeowner wear the t-shirt that said "It's all my fault" since they started to do work on the house and then left it half-completed until some pissed-off relative called TLC and asked them to help finally make the renovations?

If so, yeah, I loved that show. I am the pissed off relative (girlfriend) and would love if they came save my boyfriend's house. I kept threatening him with it but I haven't seen it on tv lately either.

I haven't seen it it at least a year and just yesterday I turned on the TV and there was a rerun on. I miss the show almost as much as I miss Nani "The Naninator". :(

Hey!

I just received an e-mail from A&E (I'm an A&E club member) that said that the new season of Flip this House will have two management groups, one from San Antonio and one from Atlanta. So I'm sorry to say that there will be no more southern-accented Trademark Properties and Ginger in heels.

It premiers this Sunday at 8pm.

So last night I was finishing up some laundry and started watching the new season of Flip This House. Now maybe it was because I'd gotten used to the Trademark Properties group but my god, these folks were awful!

I mean seriously evil human beings. They were so incredibly rude to the contractors I kept thinking that it had to be for "show". Has anyone else caught these new folks yet?

susanarosa,
I've caught a few of the new episodes. I saw last nights, which was set in Texas and had the girls vs. boys theme. Then, I saw last week's with the Atlanta folks. I have to say, I don't think either groups' results were as good as those of the Trademark team. The Trademark team had more taste than either of the new teams, IMO. Although, having said that, I thought the Texas women's house turned out all right. I certainly looked better than the boys' house.

Mulv,

The one I saw last night was the Texas girls vs. boys episode. The Trademark group would always try to make their houses look welcoming and have a little party, etc it seemed like these folks just showed a completely empty house... kinda ugly and boring. But they didn't put as much money into it either.

And the way they treated that one poor contractor who was just trying to get his work done. If I were that one guy I would've stolen their cabinets too... throw my ice cream across the yard after your wife bought it for me, jackass.

And we thought Ginger dressed inappropriately...
