Well...I didn't watch last season, I didn't see Episode (Week) 1 of this season...but I caught some of last night's show. It was, erm, interesting?

I was embarrassed for the aging rockers who are going to assemble this new group (called Supernova? Are they kidding? What a STUPID name for a band! I can't imagine myself going to buy a CD by "Supernova" :p ). The whole bunch of them look ridiculous, and behave just as ridiculously. C'mon, guys. Seriously. I love my rock music as much as the next person, but I'm in my 40s now...if I walked around dressed like THESE guys, I'd look as silly as they do!

Which brings me to the performers. And the audience. The show just oozes desperation and shouts "SEE!!! I'm DIFFERENT, and UNIQUE!!! SEE!!! I've got TATS and EARRINGS and PIERCINGS and I CAN MAKE COOL HAND GESTURES and SCREAM MY LYRICS and ... oh, what? You mean that none of that's original any more? It's all been done to death? By people 20-30+ years ago?"

Sorry, I sound like a crabby old lady! But I couldn't even stick with the show through it's entirety. I doubt that I'll be tuning back in for more :rolleyes:

And the egos! Good lord... even Dave has one and what has he done lately? But I have to admit... I love this show, I love this music, I love the bands these people represent and I will watch it till the bitter end.

My early favorites are Dilana (mezmerizing) and Toby (the least annoying, fake, theatrical guy on the show).

I want to know who is dressing these people. I haven't seen so many bad "rocker" outfits in one place since I was at Hot Topic in the mall.

Take every trend from the last 10 years and combine into one fugly outfit. Yay! :rolleyes:

I couldn't sign in on Typekey to comment on the blog page, but I'll say it here. Zayra not only SUCKS as a singer, there is no reason for her to be on this show at all! There's beter eye candy, better performers, and a whole HELL of a lot of people who respect the band members enough to know what they're playing for. It's painful to watch her and I want her to go...away...now!:mad:

Wow! That's exactly what I thought about her. Plus, I think she's unjustly cocky and wears too much polyester and spandex.

I had problems logging on to typekey yesterday too. So here's what I wanted to say-copygodd, I'm now having nightmares thanks to that TheDave pic you had on the recap. He scared me already. There'll be a new phobia named after him, just you wait. And is it just me or does Phil (he's the guy who sucked but they said he was great but just needed better stage presence. Oh wait, I need to be more specific-he's the guy who did Tonic Tues. night) remind anyone of Napoleon Dynamite?

Also awfully convenient that they just happened to announce it now, while he's got a TV show going....even though they've been apart for at least 5 months or so.

Ok guys- I just finished watching the internet preshow. It looks like our girl zayra is going to suck again tonight b/c she's singing "Everybody Hurts" and has tried to rearrange it. even the band think she's in over her head. i guess that everybody's eardrums will be hurting again. Phil is singing "White Rabbit" which I think will suck royally too, and the twist is that one of the Supernova band members will be accompanying the house band on one of the songs but the contestants don't know which song it is.

I still like Patrice as the strongest female, and Toby as the strongest male.
