Where's my BLOODY RISOTTO?!?!?
I am so excited, I didn't even realize a new season was starting. Huzzah!
It's so funny, I always love this show when it's on, but I can't think of who won last season, or even anyone's name. I guess it's all about Gordon to me.

So true, Ang...I've also heard that the winners don't get the prizes they are exactly promised.
Can't wait! Thanks for the heads up, Jashba...I hadn't heard it was premiering so soon.

Ok this show is new to me too...so do I watch this AND Top Chef? Or is Top Chef better?

They are apples and oranges. You can't even watch this with Top Chef on your mind. Total different experience. And it's bloody brilliant!!
RachWho?
03-18-2008, 11:25 AM
Top Chef is MUCH more about cooking. Hell's Kitchen is MUCH more about the experience of trying to be a chef in a kitchen when your boss wants to rip your testicles off if you make a mistake.
Jashba

Top Chef is all about the food, Hell's Kitchen is all about the Gordon - they are two totally seperate experiences, but both should be had fully. I think I heard Gordon call someone a smelly pig during the commercial - and he throws some of the food across the kitchen! Love It!!!!!!

This show is worth the effort... it will pay off big time RT8 and Gasmili.......
I saw an interview this morning with Ramsay and he talked about 10 years ago being a 'fat chef' and now he runs marathons ans double marathons.. He even stood up and showed his 'six pack' which I must say was not a six pack like any I recognized. His hair was also reminisent of Christian except opposite... a big wing over his right eye brow.
He also talked of the 'cooks' he is bring on this year. This is the first time he has made the selection of who was cominginto the kitchen. He has an electrician, and stay at home dad, and many others who havn't worked in a pressure situation like he wil offer. He also thinks the girls are better then the men this season. The final prize will be becoming a chef in HIS new resturant opening in California soon.
iIcan't wait till later!

Oh MY... what a way to kick off a new season.
I would have so totally known my Ramsay in that stupid wig.
Hates?
Likes?
I do not like the way Bobby is a mouth breather already. If he could just keep his mouth shut and his tounge in he would look 30 points higher on the giff intelligence chart.

I just can't understand why anyone would want to be on this show to get yelled at and demoralized in front over millions of viewers.......
The stay-at-home dad had the worst hair I've ever seen. He needed to go home just for that reason alone, but throwing away all those scallops was just wrong. He should have bagged them up to take home to the kids.
..... and Chef Ramsey looked like Ozzy Osbourne in that get-up he was wearing.......
Girls Rule!.... they made the guys look like assholes, but I guess it doesn't take much with this bunch......... can't wait till next week.

I love watching Gordo yell at people.
I only watched parts of the show because I was flipping between HK and BB. But I did catch the guy who made a cornish hen in the pumpkin. That was the ugliest dish I've ever seen on tv. lol.

Ok, I'm not sure how I feel about this show. All of those chefs look like they had no idea what they were doing and half of their food looked down right gross. Hen in a pumpkin? Fried fish sticks? HUH!? As of now Laross is my favorite. Little fireball, that one.
I think in a Top Chef vs. Hells Kitchen throw down, the Top Chef-ers dominate.
I'm a newbie to Hells Kitchen though, so I'll give it at least another week.

You guys.... It's all about Chef Ramsey! Bloody hell and all..... the cooking DOES get better, it really does..... and the winning team gets to do something great and the losers have to do something nasty like pick thru the trash and sort the recycling items.....
It's not about the food, it's about feeding a dining room full of people without killing them all!

Chef Ramsey kind of reminds me of Simon Cowell at this point. He is kind of annoying and spit is constantly spewing out of his mouth, which can't be sanitary for anyone lol. I hope he grows on me so I can continue watching this with you guys.

You guys are looking at the show dackwards.... the show IS GORDON RAMSAY... the wannabe cooks are just that... why they come on the show is a ggod question.....
but you have to love Ramsay first and then the abuse he gives out will be what you are watching. Remember this is not a cooking show.... That is the ticket. I like his resturant turn around show better because he actually has to be nice to get anything done..... but this is a classic prision abuse show.

you know some of them are not chefs..
maybe a backyard cook right..
guys who worked the line at Denny's or Macaroni Grill....
and they went on here knowing what he does to people and he is hiring someone to RUN the kitchen of HIS resturant..
these are not really intelligent chefs looking for a job interview..
you understand that part of the show right??
it is not anything like Top Chef..
which is a brilliant masterpiece for up and coming chefs to make it...
Gordon Ramsay is da bomb.

Is anyone still watching this? What did you think of Matt's redemption and Ben's fall from grace? And why was Gordo so hard on Jen? She wasn't doing anything wrong just being quiet.
I'm ready for the wicked witch of the west to go home.

I was SO glad to see Ben leave last night. He was a real prick, saying he'd nominate himself and then backtracking when LouRoss was out of the room. Even though LouRoss kind of sucks, I can't help but sort of love the little femme.
Gordo is so hard to predict, what with how he was treating Jen, or how he was so nice to Petrozza for nominating himself. On another day he would have ripped off Petrozza's testicles and made him serve them up to the crew for being so spineless.

Ben was such of a bully. Matt wasn't that bad except that he wouldn't stand up for himself. He found the weakest guy and bullied him into the position of being the wealling. When Matt was gone, then he turned to LouRoss.
Now are they sending Matt back to the boys?

I'm soooo fucking happy that Matt is finally gone!!!!!! He is possibly one of the worst contestants ever. He was such a hissy-fitter. I wish someone would have hit him upside the head with a frying pan last night..... and to think, he really thought Ramsey felt bad for him and his "migraine". Perky blonde lost her mojo when Matt started his melt-down and then snooty-blonde burnt her hand and tried to be a martyre and keep on cooking, all the while shiny-lips Jen was eating it all up... but Ramsey sent her ass packing too. Great night for Gordon....great meltdown!!! I like messy chef... he and the 'General' should be our final two.

I haven't tried the game yet but I just read this on gamezebo.com:
Hell's Kitchen - Uncensored!
If you've already played Hell's Kitchen you might have noticed that it features a strangely well-behaved Gordon Ramsay, whose mild insults don't come close to matching the vulgarity-filled rants that he unleashes on the hapless contestants of his television show. However, for a limited time you can download an uncensored version of the game, which is being offered exclusively by Ludia (the game's developer) and will be available only until the finale of the Hell's Kitchen television show in July.
Click here (http://www.playhk.com/hk_download.php) to download Hell's Kitchen uncensored (make sure you click the UNCENSORED! box). It goes without saying that this version contains language that is unsuitable for all audience and might offend some players.
I don't know why I find this so funny. I think "UNCENSORED!" makes me think there's going to be college girls flashing their boobies for Snoop Dogg in Gordon Ramsay's kitchen.

WooHoo.... Jen and her shiney-ass lips and big mouth got sent packing. Why the hell didn't she have to wear a hair net over that wild mess she had on her head! I just wanted tohit her with that hot frying pan !!! Ramsey should have known better than to pick up that fuckin' pan, not once, but twice!! He's the pro!
Now we're down to 'homely' blonde, 'cute' blonde, and Petrozza. I'm thinking the girls are going to try and sabatoge him so they can be the final two, but I think he'll slather-ass his way through it all and come out the winner.

This is my favorite part of HK.... when each finalist gets the chance to tell off Chef Ramsey to prove they can belittle the workers in a fancy restaurant. Petrozza did a great job of that and during the 'head chef' challenge, he barked orders like a pro, upsetting Christina to the point of a melt-down at the fish station.
I'm happy with the final two. Corey was a good cook, but she hid behind others mistakes to promote herself. In reality, she was a wimp.
I'd like to take a moment to post a rant........ I know that's uncommon for me but this really bugs me......
When you finally get to work in a fancy restaurant that charges $50+ for an entree, does basic health dept. rules not count anymore. I watch these cooking competition shows and see people touching, tasting, and handling food with no concern or regard for sanitation or basic customer safety. No one wears a hair or beard net. They sweat profusely, wiping it away and handling the food. They touch the meat to see if it is warm with bare hands. They wipe off the plates before serving and then wipe off the counter with the same towel. They stick their fingers in sauces to test their flavors and then send them on to the patrons. The local Purina factory here has more sanitary measures for their dog food than these places. I never want to eat in a fancy restaurant...... you don't know what's happening to your high-priced food.
I'm rooting for Petrozza.... he deserves to win....Christina needs more experience before she runs a restaurant herself.... maybe "touch my crotch before I touch your food" classes.

I'm with you Rach. I was really hoping that Chef Ramsey would keep her. I think she's been really adorable all along, even though I'm amazed that burning his hands didn't get her thrown off the show.
I found it off that Petrozza's dad looked his same age. How old was he when he had Petrozza if Petrozza is already 47?

She was fair Rach but Petrozza has, in my opinion, much more authority. I am confused also because Gordon makes you think the winner is going to run one of his resturants ... and then last weeks show we see that they will be another chef under the head chef???
Christina, even though she is from Missouri, just needs life experience to deal with people before she steps in a kitchen and tells 30+ somethings men what to do.
I think she will be eaten alive.
And her mother losing it ... stability questionable. The Hubby told me I would lose it too but I believe I would recover much quicker.

I just copied this from dlisted.com. We almost lost bloody Gordon!
The always sunny Gordon Ramsay almost met his maker (Satan) after he fell off of a cliff in Iceland while filming his show, "The F Word."
Gordon told The Sun that he fell from a 28-foot cliff and landed in icy cold water. He said, “I remember thinking, ‘Oh fuck’. My boots and my waterproofs were dragging me down. I’m an extremely good swimmer, but I couldn’t get to the surface. I was panicking and my lungs were filling with water. When I got to the top after getting my boots off I was dazed and my head was totally numb.”
Gordon's crew pulled him back up with a rope. He only had a cut on his leg.
Falling off a cliff wasn't his only brush with death. Gordon was in Iceland to hunt poor, little puffins for his show. One of the puffins bit his nose which required three stitches. The puffin should have aimed lower.
Gordon defended his decision to hunt them, “We had a license to cull 1,000. I didn’t realize how difficult they are to cook, but they’re very tasty!”
The next time Gordon is in Iceland, the puffins should push him from a higher cliff.

I had to look up "puffin" (http://www.thescreamonline.com/photo/photo2-2/isaac/images/puffin.jpg)to figure out what the heck it was... it looks too cute to eat. It would be like eating a parrot or a Pekingese or something. Blech.

Puffin's are too cute to eat. I subscribe to the principle that only ugly animals should be consumed. The puffin, on the other hand, should be treated humanely: caught and put in cages to be purchased by rich, bored housewives;and then given stupid names and fed gourmet, organic foods.
angiemarie
07-30-2008, 10:17 AM
I think pigs are cute, but I also think they are delicious. So that's a tough call. I wouldn't eat a puffin because I bet they have a really gamey, tough texture.
