I just booked my memorial day weekend flight to Louisville, KY. My friend mentioned that we will be going to Abbey Road on River... which got me thinking... sounds like something Lennonwhore would be attending... hey, doesn't she live in Louisville?

I do, and it is something I.m going to be doing! It is probably one of the best ways to spend a weekend in the Ville!
Are you really coming? B/c I so can tell you some great places to go to and would love to meet up!

I booked my flight this morning. I get there around noon on Friday, May 23 and leave on Monday the 26th.
We definately have to meet up!!! Not sure which days we are going to Abbey Road... I will have to check with my old college roommate (she is the one originally from that area and is in charge of all coordination) and I will let ya know.

You wouldn.t be jealous if you were here!
Roadtripper, I.ll PM you my contact info, but I guarantee I.ll be at the River every day. I.ll also look up some free shows and other things going on that week that you might be interested in. I think for Memorial Day Weekend we have a public dig if you wanted to see me in my native work surroundings!

Isn't there a drink/shot called Snakebite? I think we may have to make that our first one in celebration of Len's tangle with the snake!
Edit: According to Wikipedia: The basic snakebite is a mixture of equal parts of lager and cider (or alternatively a 1:2 mix).

Hell yeah! They are delicious! One part beer, one part hard cider. Usually Guiness.

We always used Yukon Jack & lime juice for a snakebite. Interesting difference.

Interesting, or just plain wrong? Well, I take that back. If you are drinking and having fun, there's nothing wrong about that!

Interesting that Guinness would be used in a snakebite, considering there are no snakes in Ireland (thanks for checking, Chooch!). Guinness is my fave, by the way. It's what got me in bed with Mr. Saur, many years ago.

Ahhh... but good ol' Saint Patrick (patron saint of Ireland) is known best for driving the snakes out of Ireland. (even though science supports the theory that there were never any snakes there in the first place... maybe it is a metaphor for evil). Still... I could see how Guinness would be a good choice, even if it is based on folklore.
Len... there is no way around it... we have to have at least one Snakebite now in honor of all of our gasmiis!

St Patrick driving the snakes out of Ireland was a metaphor for bringing Christianity to Ireland. The druids/celts, the priests of the major religion before St. Pat would tattoo snakes on their bodies. So convert the Irish, drive out the druids = driving the snakes out of Ireland.

Hey Len... we are going to Abbey Road on the River both Saturday and Sunday. I am currently searching hotels for Saturday so we don't have to worry about driving home that night (my friend's folks live over in Sellersburg, IN). What is your weekend looking like?

Looking open! I would recommend the Galt House if you can afford it, Abbey Road is hosted on their back lawn (called the Belvedere), or there are some cheap hotels near campus (about ten minutes down the road).

Dirt and bat crap!?!? I just knew you were a girl who really knows how to have fun! :p
I am excited too! In fact, I am already starting to pack even though my plane doesn't leave until Friday morning. That is saying a lot because I am a complete procrastinater usually.
