Will Dilana continue eating brains? Will Zayra wear a swan dress? Will Lukas be sent back to Middle Earth? Can we put Jill back into her box? All this and more! Discuss this week of Rock Star: Supernova.

Will Zayra wear a swan dress?
Well, the blue spandex space suit was damn close. She looked insane! It kinda makes me love her a little, that embracing the crazy thing she does. She still can't sing though.
I was really surprised how tough they were on Magni last night. He was better than I thought he's been throughout the whole show. Other than that, it was just kinda blah-no big standouts for me. I still love Dilana and I'm less afraid of her nowadays. I think Josh is in danger again, which makes me sad because I love him but I don't think he's right for our band Supernova.

I love Dilana-who else can take an ok Cyndi Lauper song & make everyone love it? I didn't realize how tiny she was though-was she sitting next to Brooke at the end? And what's up with Storm doing the arms-up field goal stance during Dilana's song? That girl would rock out to "Amazing Grace" to get the camera on her.
Here's my bottom 3 after last night-Zayra, Zayra, Zayra. Oh wait, I mean Zayra, Patrice, & Phil. Phil's too Napoleon Dynamite to be in Supernova, Patrice thinks she's better than she really is (then again, who on the show doesn't believe that?), and I don't think I need to explain Zaney.

 Phil was robbed! I'm haven't been a big fan of his, but his song tonight was really good! I'd never heard of the band Failure before, but I'm going to check out the rest of their stuff. Zayara's performance was O.K. (it pains me to admit it). Her odd voice worked well with that song, and it was nice not to watch her contort herself for once. Patrice did a good job with the Radiohead song, I knew she wasn't going home.
On a different note, the house band is really solid. They do so many different types of songs each week, and they always sound really good. I wonder if they are all studio musicians, and are used to doing other people's material on short notice?

I don't think it's bribery DL. I think she's sucking a SUPERNOVA- sized cock backstage somewhere. It's the only way to explain her not going home tonight. How can they ditch Phil (who had his best performance ever), and keep her when not only does she SUCK-but she keeps singing weird ballads that in no way shape or form fit the kind of music that Supernova will be playing.
She cannot "rock out" on a stage
She cannot "rock out" in a cage
She cannot "rock out' in a dress
She can't 'cuz she a FUCKING MESS!!!
send her home guys- you're killing me! We keep putting her in the bottom 3 for a reason!

HeeHee, you crack me up! On the other hand, your boy Gilby said that Z-Crazy-Lady doesn't seem to be a good fit for Supernova. I don't get why the Hatchet Man does not give her the axe? He must be afraid of the toxic rays shooting from her vaginal orifice.

I know Ms.- that's the thing that confuses me. They let Phil go for not being "committed' to the band, and yet Gilby flat out TOLD Zayra that she's not bringing what they want as far as their lead singer is concerned. They ask her to sing some harder stuff, and she comes out with another weird ballad. That should have made them kick her out right there. Don't blame Tommy though- they all have to agree and his cock is probably the biggest so she has to spend the most time on him.

...do any of you think this band will actually get off the ground?
In the first season, there was a real band at a crossroads. INXS tried to make a go of it after Michael's auto-erotic hanging, but couldn't find the right singer. The band had a viable catalog and wanted to tour. So picking a singer was crucial. And it paid off...the band went into the studio a day after the winner was revealed. (the album became a hit and they're touring the world).
I get the sense that the network needed a summer replacement show and the numbers were okay from the first one, so they threw together this band.
Prediction: band will play the finale, make some half-hearted attempts to record a demo and then just dissapear.

I read on another site that Phil had given an interview to his hometown paper saying that he was mainly there to promote his own band and that he didn't care for the music that much. I'm sooo skeptical, and it might be a lie (it was posted under an article about the show, and the post did not name the paper the interview appeared in), but it would explain why they kept saying they questioned his "commitment". The commitment stuff seemed to come out of nowhere.
I know they are just keeping Zayra around to bring the crazy and keep her mom placated.

I think you're totally right. The music they played for the contestants didn't really sound like anything that would stand out on the radio or elsewhere.

Seriously. Would this Supernovashit get any press at all if not for Tommy-the -Long-Dong-of-Death? This "group" is as bad as the Monkees. A group put together just for the TV show and will be gone after the first demo as Whawha thoughtfully pointed out.

Yeah...but the Monkees had top songwriters penning for them. I think Neil Diamond (regardless of the cheese factor of his Vegas schtick, he still is a great songwriter) wrote some of thier hits.
Supernova has...um, Gilby Clarke.

True enough: Boyce & Hart, Neil Diamond, and on and on. I have to admit the Monkees actually had a talent machine behind them. Supernovashit has a major PR machine behind them.

When I was younger the only thing my cousins and I loved more than swimming was The Monkees. We swam from sunrise to well after sunset. We even ate lunch in the pool! But we watched The Monkees religiously and the half hour that their show was on was the only time we'd get out and let our wrinkly skin rest. Anyway, we idolized them so much, we formed a band called The Monkees II. We were the shit, man! We even had matching jackets. Oh, we didn't have instruments or anything and we didn't know how to sing and we never performed, but we were The Monkees II, dammit, and we kicked ass!

Just don't start singing the "nobody likes me/eat worms all day" song, 'k?
And maybe next time don't threaten people with incapacitation. Nobody likes being incapacitated. It ranks somewhere between incontinence and incorporeal and I wouldn't want to be any of those things.

It was a curling iron (it has a real cord!) but it wasn't me. I was on air guitar. I owned a SuperStar 3000 Guitar (endorsed by Wolfman Jack!) but we didn't use it in the band. But it did teach me the concept of the whammy bar.

I thought the same thing when I heard it. I was embarrassed for the contestants when they were acting like it was the most awesome thing they had ever heard. Then, the other day at work, I was sitting at my desk and I could hear someone's radio playing really quietly. I couldn't hear any vocals, just the background. And it was really boring and annoying and repetitive but I recognized it instantly as Michael Jackson's Billie Jean. Now, I'm not comparing MJ to a hard rock band, but Billie Jean was a #1 hit for weeks, right? I guess my point is that the background music doesn't matter nearly as much as the vocals or, more importantly, the performer. (Yet another reason to make sure Zayra gets her ass kicked off the show next week, people!)
