if you've seen the commercial what do you think of it?
survival remake with different name?
personally i think the idea is pretty old, but i'd still like to watch it for the drama

It looks kind of like Survivor with a little Paradise Hotel thrown in. I went on the BBC America website and it looks like the object is to keep people on your side and they get to vote in new people all the time, and there's lots of hooking up and skanky shenanigans going on. I'm at least going to watch the first episode :)

BBC America. Premieres tonight at 9pm et. And it's followed by something called Bump n Grind that looks like a cooler version of So You Think You Can Dance!! I believe BBC repeats them later during the night so I'm recording the later ones so as not to interfere with all my other primetime addictions :)

I was turned onto this show by my fella (the Brit), they are further along in the series on that side of the pond. He said it might seem to start out slow but it will definitely pick up in excitement.

I find it's not that similar to Survivor as they seem to have it rather cushy. They are supplied with tools, instructions on building shelter, food and other amenities. I mean when you are sitting around the campfire eating chips and drinking beer you really can't complain about the hardships.

Hi Tink! missed ya girlie :)
yes, I agree it does seem a little easier than Survivor. It doesn't appear that beyond building a hut or whatever that they'll have any physical challenges. I enjoyed the first episode-it did seem like a long hour, I'm glad to know that it picks up!! I'll definitely stick with it a little while. I was amazed that they spend five months on the islands-that is such a long time!! All I could think of is that no one I know could miss that much work, but they all seem kind of young on the show so I the work stuff doesn't apply.
