Can you believe it.... Jack got a raise for S#5. He went from $150,000 episode to $225,000 episode..... for crying out loud!

I heard he wasn't the only one asking for a raise. Does anyone know if any of the "others" got one too?

I can't believe this is only season #5 for Lost. It seems like it has been on forever.

I'm not surprised he got a raise for next season. With the shorter seasons, that means less money for the actors since they are paid per episode.

Isn't this season only going to be 13 episodes or something? I guess maybe that factors into the mathematics of it all, as angie pointed out.

And isn't this also going to be the last season? Seems like all the actors should hurry up and try to get a piece of the pie while it lasts... it's not like they can just kill characters off at random, due to the complex storylines. I would be holding out for the megabucks!!

The writers plan on wrapping the storyline up in the 5th season. Will we have the answers to all our questions.... they say yes.... I say no, because then they couldn't make a movie a few years later!

So true! My husband and I rented "Vantage Point" recently and I said that "Jack" was in the movie. My husband immediately said, "Oh, will he be crying?" It was SO funny because he does not watch "Lost" and yet even he knows how much Jack cries!

Next Monday (Sept. 15th) at 7pm est, the Sci-Fi channel will begin airing S#1 of Lost...... alot of the old shows will be tying in with the new season.

I agree. I try to really stay to the stuff that the show divulges and not get too wrapped up in that outside stuff. Maybe it's just because I hardly have time anymore! :tongue_smilie:

Sorry, I'm really diligent about not reading them, too, so I should have mentioned that it's not a spoiler. As chooch said, it's just a theory. I'm sure it's completely wrong because there are too many holes in it, but it is a fantastic theory nonetheless (and it will make your brain EXPLODE! for realz!).

so... Primal Fear came on Bravo last night (BTW, it's a fantastic movie, so if you've never seen it Netflix it RIGHT NOW!) and I recorded it because I haven't seen it in ages. I read on MSN:

Set your "Lost" countdown clocks to 75 days: ABC has set the show's season premiere date.

The show will open its fifth season with a two-hour premiere starting at 9 p.m. ET Wednesday, Jan. 21. It marks a return to Wednesdays for the show, which aired after "Grey's Anatomy" on Thursday nights at the end of last season.

and that was yesterday so it is down to 74 days!

I remember now, Sayid was incredibly hot and a total badass, Kate was still torn between Jack and Sawyer, Hurley saw people who weren't there, Ben was creepy and intense, and Locke put his absolute faith in boneheaded ideas.

Hubby has never been interested in Lost. The kids and I don't miss it. For Christmas he gave me Season 4 on Blue Ray...and a Blue Ray player to go with it. So we sit down to watch it and we first watch the 8:15 show and then we go into the first show of Season 4 with Hurley watching through the one way mirror and then it turns into the fish tank and then explodes. After I peeled him off the ceiling we removed the Season 4 disc and put in Season 1. We are almost through watching that and he bought Season 2 & 3 which we now have to watch before Season 5. Sheeeesh, but it's been fun.

I can't get anyone in my family interested in it. They all think it's stupid from the 2-3 minutes they've happened to see when I've been watching. I keep telling them to watch the first episode and they'll be hooked, but I've had no takers.

I have to say my all time favorite character is Kate. It was nice to go back and see what a real bad ass she was way back when. I had totally forgotten about the bank robbery. Efren just said he likes Locke and can't wait to find out how he got to walking again.

I seriously had a Lostgasm last night. We freaking stayed up until 2:15 watching the end of season one. We had to watch eight shows last night and then of course the finale was two hours.

I can't believe how much I had forgotten. I can't believe after seeing it before, it still has the capability of making me jump and hide my eyes.

I have to add to my favorite character....I also love Sun. She is a force to be reckoned with. I know she had worked so hard to leave her husband and chose to stay at the last moment...oh yeah and the guy threatening Jin in the bathroom at the airport....totally forgotten.

Gawd I can't wait.

I should go back to the beginning like you Julie. It will really get all my mind-boggling, sleepless nights, questions rushing thru my head again! I have a week!

i watched the season finale last night too! thank god i did cause i felt like i forgot so much. like jack knowing that claire was his sister and all those little details. i was getting annoyed at the pop-up things. i dont need to read "this is richard alpert. he doesnt seem to age" 15 times!

just think - this time next week we shall all be discussing new mind-boogling things!

So, this is so embarrassing, but I never saw last year's finale until last night. :blushing:

I turned it on last night and was so confused, the satellite guide said it was a repeat but it was all new to me. Then I realized it was the finale from last year, but I hadn't seen it. So weird. If you had asked me yesterday, I would have told you I saw last year's finale. I don't know if I'm getting alzheimer's or what.

well, the tv season used to be 26 episodes, then it went down to 24 and now it's probably even less, and Lost doesn't air the full number of episodes per season since each episode takes more than a week to film......

so you might be able to squeeze them in somehow....not sure that really makes it seem any better!

i need to rebuild some brain cells, because when so much time passes between episodes i forget half of what happened. a friend today said "what do you think happened with locke? was he really dead in that coffin or is he faking it?" and for a second i thought LOCKE DIED HOLY CRAP and felt the twist hit me all over again.

The grey haired woman told Desmond about his abilities to know what would happen before it did. He met her in the antique store where he was buying Penny's engagement ring. (season #3)

Her name is Ms. Hawkin. When Desmond was blown from the hatch, he went back to 1996 & that is when we find out his backstory with Penny & the picture which he has no money to pay for. It's also when he confronts Widmore & asks to marry Penny. When he leaves there, he meets Charlie in the streets playing his guitar. He then has a flash-forward & remembers the island...... anyhoo....

Ms. Hawkin takes Desmond outside the shop & points to the guy with red shoes & tells him what is going to happen to him & it does, which freaks Des out. She tells him, it's his destiny to be on the island. She explains that the universe has a specific way in which things must take place, anywhere that things go off course, the universe will correct itself.

Desmond's full name is Desmond David Humes. David Humes is a real Scottish philosopher who discussed the ideas of free will & determinism & this is reflected in Desmond's time-traveling.

This is why he needs to go back. He knows about time-traveling because he is one.
