PR 9/17 - Kenley Finds Her Mini-Me

I can't believe I'm the first to comment on last night's Project Runway. What a great episode. I loved the challenge of having mother's and daughters.

- Ferrell (sp?) is really shaping up to be a contender. I liked the whole styling he did for his tall awkward make over. "Girl you ARE pretty".

- Suede's jacket was so disappointing. I think if he had just shown the dress he would have fared better.

- Leanne's dress was cute and the jacket wasn't awful but it made the poor girl seem a bit more squat. The girl was adorable though. I can totally see her as an elementary ed teacher.

- Kotto (sp?) designed a beautiful jacket - but I was sad the judges didn't mention her dress, I really liked the dress too.

- Kenley, I know she isn't popular around here, but I still just love her style. I loved the dress she designed. I thought the feather in her girls' hair was a little too matchy matchy. I just didn't like when she and her mini-me were laughing at Suede's expense. Not nice. Mean girls are never fun.

Which leads us to poor Joe. He's done some nice stuff along the way so why did he fail so miserably this week? Once he found out she was going to be a graphic designer he should have felt like he won the lottery. It meant he could do ANYTHING fun and wild and it would fit her career. Hate that he played it safe, stodgy and then didn't even make it well.

I know you didn't really ask Tink - but it is Jerrell, and Korto (prounced Cut-toe), and one final, small correction - they were laughing at Joe when one of the judges mentioned his pocket square. It harked back to Kenley giving him such crab in the design room about the pocket square. Regarless of who the judges were talking about, she behaved badly on the runway - again.

As for the show, I kind of liked it. I thought most of the designs were just okay. I didn't mind Kenley's dress - but felt like I had seen it or a version of it already, same with Suede and to some extent Korto. Her jackets are lovely, but I would really like to see her do something other than a wrap dress. Joe just missed the mark completely - even is she had been interviewing for jobs at a law firm or a bank, that suit did not fit her and was just ugly and old looking.

I liked Jerrell's outfit - I just wish the skirt hadn't pulled quite so tight across the hips, I really feel it could have been tailored a bit better and so been more flattering. I am fine with his win though that feathered hat was too too much!

I hate Kenley with a burning passion. I really liked her style at first, but this is the 2nd time she's laughed at someone on the runway when they are getting picked apart. I hope every single person on the runway laughs at her when she gets sent home, and I hope Tim shatters her dreams with an icepick on her way out. MAKE IT WORK, TIM!

Oh good point - I don't like when ANYONE dismisses Tim. If they watched the show they would know that Tim is NEVER wrong. Every time someone ignores him it ends in their downfall. The man knows fashion and they are very fortunate to have him and his sage advice at the ready. They should be lapping it up.

I am pulling for Korto for the win at this point. I dispise what Kenley did AGAIN on the runway and am surprised they didn't stop action to ask her to share. What a prat.
The right man want home sadly. I thought Joe might have done better on this, it was so ill fitting even if he could have pulled that off in style the construction would have ate his hiney up.
I am astounded by the previews!!

I cannot wait to see who is laughing next week.

This isn't so much a comment on this weeks show just how my mom ruined part of the show for me. One of the designers moms regularly shops at my moms Ann Taylor and the mom and mom have become chatty. After watching the show last night my mom calls to see if I watched yet and comment on it - then she busts out with oh (blank)'s mom was in last week and she was buying clothes to go to fashion week to see her kid's show! OMG, I know know who a finalist is! Mom is sucking right now!

poo on mom today! And that is only one of 4 going to fashion week and there is only 5 left on the show right? So don't be so hard on mom, she couldn't hold in her excitment.... I couldn't either!

minda- don't know if this helps, but I read on the fug girls' site that they had all 6 remaining designers show a collection at fashion week to prevent leaks. Just because they show at fashion week doesn't mean they are a finalist! For anyone who is into spoilers, you can find all the collections online already (I haven't peeked).

This does a little bit! I am still mad at her because all along she has ruined things for me with the gossip she has been getting from the designer's mom. I guess if I had an "in" I would be excited too!
