WARNING!!! WARNING!!! CBS has football on this afternoon and it will probably make everything run a little late. Remember that when setting your DVR's & VCR's. Andy Rooney will most likely start off the AR season!!!

I loved the episode last night - it had most of what you look for although it's still too early to tell who I love I can already get a sense of who I don't.
That would be the team with the girl who's whiny boyfriend doesn't like when she talks to other people. Did you catch him on the cargo net talking FOR Her? Scary.
Hippy V. 2.0 did not stand a chance - but they seemed pleasant enough. I can just picture them on some HBO episode of Real Sex talking about how they can give each other the big ones just by stroking their beards.
The Brother/Sister team seemed cute enough, though I think they upset retired football/cheater guy's wife when they dubbed them Mom and Dad.
Mom and Dad - speaking of the football/cheater guy's wife - were her eyebrows scary enough? I feel bad for him that he is going to have to constantly talk about his cheating. Wait - he cheated, I take it back. She'd be more sympathetic if she had eyebrows that could emote.
Divorced Women - Not sure what I think about these two yet.
Frat Boys - too funny that they were putting a curse on plane #1 to be delayed - but it kinda sorta worked.
Nerds - Cute that they wear their geekdom like a badge of honor. Sadly, they were so far back in the pack we didn't get to see much of them. They may be good for some humor.
Long Distance People - so far they seem to be getting a long well. It will be interesting to see how this journey affects their relationship.
Mother/Son - they are cute, I like how sweet he is with his mom. Also think it's cute how Starr is flirting with him. Wonder how long before her bro gets jealous.
Those are the only people I remember.
Phil was his usual adorable self - though I thought his eyebrow arch seemed a little less genuine at the beginning.
The challenge to push tiny little semi's was interesting -would have been cool to see someone show up without all the blowpops they were supposed to have on their truck.
Was shocked the frat boys opted to climb the stairs bet that hurt like heck. I'm not good with heights and even I'd have done the cargo net.
Well that's all I could think of for now.

I was fairly sad to see the beekeepers go so soon. I knew they weren't going to win it, but they were so sweet! Maybe I have a soft spot for them since they like me are from Oregon, but they didn't seem to have a mean bone in them and that is so refreshing.

I can totally understand why that ex-football player cheated on his wife, she's a harpy and her eyebrows are awful. They age her about 10 years.
If that runner guy said "I love you to death but ..." one more time, I was going to strangle him.
I was surprised that the beekeepers were eliminated, they didn't get much air time so I thought the frat boys were a goner.
And speaking of frat boys, ouch! And they had to do it twice!
I'm just so happy this show is on again, it's been way to long.

I'd have never climbed those stairs either. The tiny truck task wasn't very dramatic. I was hoping someone lost a box too. We have a great mix of people to hate this season. I'm rooting for the geeks & the nerds! (which one's are the frat boys?) I do like mom & son and am on board with disliking 'runner guy'. We can't escape "the Blondes".

A link to our lovely Bee Keepers as they have left the Race but have found themselves in a Villa in Mexico to wait for the other racetestants to come in last and join them.
For me.....3 minutes of wishing they were still in the race and Terence had been the one to go to Mexico,

I really hate that stupid couple with the guy who hates when his girl talks to other people. The divorcees seem like fun ladies, and besides that I really have no one who stands out as a team I would either root for or hate.
I just about died with joy when the familiar music came on last night.

I was so excited for TAR last night!
I can see why Ken & Tina are separated. I don't agree with cheating (obviously) but if you stay together and forgive the person don't you owe it to the marriage to try and start clean and go on from there...otherwise why waste time staying married if you are going to constantly remind that person they cheated? I would think it's doomed if trust can't be established again. (I, personally, have no experience with this and I'm sure it is extremely hard to deal with. I hope I didn't offend anyone.)
So, Terence must be really insecure because he didn't like when Sara talked to other racers whether they were racing or at a pitstop ("she should be holding me", what are you a baby and you need to be rocked to sleep?); and then he got mad when she overtook him when they were running. I can see why that would be a bit embarassing for him since he is the running coach. BUT then she started to whine because someone didn't say hi to her. Oh puhhllease.
I like the mom and son team, but I hope they don't sing the entire race. I also like the brother and sister team, they seem nice...so far.
I can't wait to see where they go next. I love this show!

Sorry for my little rant above...I guess I just don't see why people go on TAR to "fix" or "see" where the relationship is going. I travel quite a bit and anyone who travels knows how stressful it can be at times; let alone the added pressures from the race ie: challenges, foriegn languages, navigating and now to fix a relationship! ok, i'm done now.
Also, am I the only one who didn't know Nick & Starr's last name is Spangler. So, her name is Starr Spangler. Anyone else find this funny?

I agree with you, Mel. You need to end the marriage or forgive and forget. Using the same issue as a weapon all the time isn't good for anyone.
And using The Amazing Race as relationship therapy is just dumb, but it's kind of entertaining for the rest of us.

Well, I have a feeling that Nick the brother will be jealous of Starr's flirtations w/ Dallas because HE wants a piece of that action...not because his sister is spending time with someone else...did anyone else get the gay vibe from him??? C'mon, he stars in "The Fantasticks" Off-Broadway...
Sadly, though, he's one of those rare straight guys in musical theatre...I did some investigating and discovered that he's not a 'mo...*sigh* a boy can dream, though, right?

I'm glad to see that I wasn't the only one a little annoyed by the bro/sis combo wanting to call the mccheatersons 'mom' and 'dad'.....especially since that was their strategedy! Maybe its because I turned forty this year, but I swear to god I would have shown that girl what a psychotic 'mom' is capable of these days

Lol - yeah I think that's what Mrs. McCheaterson was wanting to do. (Love that name for them!)
Welcome to the forums ralphie :)

I throughly enjoyed the episode - I really like the brother/sister team (so far), they are my current faves. I didn't like the McCheaterson's - but I know they will give us good tv. I also found myself yelling at the runner guy, for being such a whiny baby. He's more clingy than my 4 month old! I found that I didn't really like the mother/son team - well, the mother more specifically. But it is always interesting to see a family try to work this race out. Should be a great season!
And I do agree that the Philbrow in the beginning seemed disingenuious.
Over a week late, but I thought the premiere was one of the less interesting ones. So much to pack into one hour, and even then, there's some questions that just went unanswered.
I'd have done Soft Way Down, for sure, even though I'm scared of heights. Hard Way Up looked so painful, so I'm surprised Andrew & Dan took it.
Nick & Starr seemed nice enough in this episode, and I liked them in the premiere. (Writing solely based on first episode opinion. See my second episode comments for my current opinion on them, though.) Good on them for getting first
I like Ken & Tina, Terence & Sarah, Kelly & Christy, Toni & Dallas, Aja & Ty, and Marisa & Brooke.
I also liked Anita & Arthur, so I was sad to see them go out first, especially since the oldsters never have been out first till right now.
Finally, I went away for a few months simply because of all the fanboying and fangirling of that cowardly, overrated douchebag who won BB10. But I grudgingly decided to give the site another chance.
SO JUST BE GRATEFUL!
