From the CNN website:
Britney burps, munches on camera (3:53)
Will Britney Spears' image be hurt by a new Internet video? Showbiz Tonight's A.J. Hammer reports
Are they kidding? I can't believe that this is even a 'news' story to begin with. But on top of that, I can't believe that this person is even wondering if her 'image' will be hurt by a video showing her burping and munching (and God knows what else she's doing and saying on the inane video). Does this person KNOW who Britney is? This video sounds like it perfectly MATCHES her 'image', which is one of white trashdom and classlessness!

While I totally agree with you, ObstinantGirl, about this not being news and it fitting pretty well with Britney's image, I have to add that I LOVED this video. I think she's stoned in it; if not, then it is truly frightening that this person is allowed to reproduce. I saw it a couple of weeks ago and it totally made my Friday. (It's sad how small my life is....)

i agree with both of you guys, I saw the video last week & thot it was dumb & fascinating in a car-wreck-by-the-rode kinda way---I thot she must've been drunk, but I'm not around 2 many stoners so I can't say. Anywys, i'm a little surprised that it's on CNN's website, Obstinant, I wouldn't expect that from them at all, for shame! But Britney definitely fits your description, to a T!

No, it's not news but that "news" bit is from ShowBiz Tonight, the entertainment show on CNN so it's appropriate to be on that show. You can make a case a lot of celebrity culture is NOT news yet people still are interested. People still buy tabloids and people still watch Entertainment Tonight and Access Hollywood and care about celebrities. If there's no demand, they won't share it. The war in Iraq and Lebanon aren't as interesting as a drunk Mel Gibson to some people. That's the sad reality.

Thanks, Double L, that makes more sense as 2 why that clip would b on CNN site---i ddn't know they had such a show. Celebrity culture is not news but I'll shamefully admit I follow a lot of that dumb stuff. It's fluff, it's filler, but it's a break from the hard-hitting, serious, albeit, more important stuff (which I follow as well).

Believe me, I'm as into celebrity gossip and photos as the next person :o
But...to me the CNN (or whatever news source) website should keep itself strictly 'news' in the classic sense of the word if they want to be taken seriously...and keep the 'entertainment' section very, very separate. But these sorts of 'stories' make their way into mainstream newscasts and reports every single day.

Anyway, my main point was that the whole basis of the story was ridiculous anyway, because it was wondering if B's image would be SOILED by such a nasty and questionable video. HehHehHehHehHeh. Oh,
This IS the girl/woman who did all those skanky videos, right? And had photos taken of her driving with her baby NOT in a carseat? And is married to the disgusting Kevin Federline? I mean, I could go on & on... blech, she's just gross and stupid.

Ah, now i get your point, Obstinant!! You are completely correct---it's too late for any1, let alone the media, to worry about whether Britney's image mite be soiled b/c of the video! It's about 1 trashy hubby, 1 dumb reality show, & several baby mishaps 2 late to start worrying about such things!

But in a sidenote, I read that Esquire mag. named her baby 'worst-dressed man of the year'---poor form, I thot---he's just a baby!! 16 mos!! 10 years from now will the poor little guy grow up & google his name & learn he was named worst-dressed as a toddler? Anywys, he's a really cute baby, but if anything, stick to naming Mom worst-dressed, don't involve the little one, that's kinda mean.

Oh, don't worry...with parents like those rearing him and teaching him how to dress and behave, I'm sure he'll remain on the Worst Dressed Lists for the rest of his life. He might as well get used to it now! And if that's the worst list he's on, then he'll be doing much better than they are

Aren't they just the classiest, most well-dressed couple you've ever seen? oh dear, poor thing, you're rite tho! It's quite possible he'll have bigger issues to deal w/ than being worst-dressed when he grows up & realizes his Dad is KFed, a man who's single-handedly populated 1/2 of Alabama or wherever he's from. (4 Kids!! poor kiddies)

oh i ddn't see the picture 'til just now, but yea, Britney has never been a beacon of high-fashion---in fact, she seems to naturally go to the opposite end of the spectrum. did u happen 2 see that pix of her pregnant in shorts & sleeveless top & platform flip-flops? I believe the websites were referring to it as 'the Penguin'! Given all the money she has, can't she find cute, comfortable maternity clothes? all the other celeb moms seem to, but she seems like she's just shopping a coupla sizes bigger than her usual juniors-dept. type of thing.

I can't remember who the talking-news-head was that I was watching (does it really matter as they are all interchangeable) but he was "reporting" about a group of nutcases who were predicting the end of the world...
Then he says "People since the beginning of time have predicted the end of the world and most of them have been wrong."

WHAT?

Did I miss a chapter in World History? Most of the time????

I loved that video as well.
It's not quite news IMO.
