No kidding! Even if that was a good idea on any level, wouldn't it look suspicious that the tube had been cut?

But I'm totally ok with this, because I've been over Denny since the first time we saw him.

ok, so whenever i read the recaps one of the things i think to myself is "izzie isn't that insane... whatever. she's just an optimist".

nope.

totally fucking mental. crazy bitch.

but how could denny just lie there and listen to her and think "oh sure, that makes sense" and not page someone and say "UM, HI, DO YOU THINK YOU COULD GO AHEAD AND GET CRAZY OUT OF MY ROOM?! THANKS."

man alive.

I think Denny needs to switch into his character from "Supernatural" and knock Izzie out. She's crazy!

The finale tomorrow should be good, but I won't be able to watch/record it. Why do they have to air it on monday?!?

HAHAHAHA.. and seriously, the girl is PSYCHO. I thought Ellen fake crying was as bad as it gets, but Izzie going hysterical trying to convince Denny to KILL HIMSELF?! Insane..

And yea, why air it on a Monday night? I have things to do! Hopefully the recap will be absolutely fantastic (*cough*cough*) so I'll feel like I watched it...

I figure if ABC doesn't offer it for free (like they are for eps of Lost, Desperate Housewives, Alias, and Commander)....I'll d-load it from other sources (that's how I watched the entire 1st season and part of season 2).

Is it really the end of season 2. For some reaseon I thought this was season 1. Right now it is all one big blur I guess. must stay awake...

last night was awesome.

when i saw izzy cut the tube then we see burke on the ground i was like THANK GOD DENNY WILL FINALLY DIE.

but wtf? izzy was a psycho and her over the top histrionics were really v v annoying.

also, if burke flew back to seattle grace from mercy via helicopter, then WHY was he outside the ground level entrance? THANKS

I just watched the tape from last night. OMG!!!

jash posed a good question. We'll see if they explain that tonight. Maybe Denny will get a heart after all (one way or another). I was totally sucked in by Izzie's craziness. Not so much to condone doing what she did, but the overly-emotional "love conquers all" kind of thing. I'll definitely be watching tonight!

btw- I heard that ABC moved the coverage of Oprah's ball until next week, so as long as the Prez's speech only takes an hour, GA should air at the normal time tonight.

m_ruv -that first post was classic!

If I ever got that crazy hysterical with my boyfriend he'd have cut the cord to the machine himself just to get the f*$K away from me.

I was so hyped up at the end of this episode. Burke has to be okay, dagnabit!

I couldn't believe it when I saw Burke on the ground (and also wondered why he wasn't on the roof considering he left in a helicopter and probaby came back in one:confused:). Of course, none of our questions will be answered on tonight's two hour finale...we'll have to wait for next season.

It was definitely an on the edge of your seat show! Intense! I was also thinking that Izzy isn't all that bad, but last night she did go off the edge. I saw in the previews that Christina tells Burke, "I forgive you". Jeez, I think I love you would have been better. I know it is a competetive program, but "let it go". I have to work tonight :(, so I am having several people tape it for me. Yes, I will get a DVR someday.

My power went off at 9:53 last night, and came back on at 11:20. It tanked right as Shane got up to ask his jury question on Survivor, stayed off all through Grey's Anatomy and the Survivor reunion show, and came back on after I'd given up and gone to bed. Hopefully (hint, hint) there will be a good recap before tonight's episode, I hate that I only have 24 hours to get caught up on the episode. ABC's website shows Grey's on at 8, 9 and 10, which would mean they're reshowing last night's part at 8, but TV Guide and such still show Oprah's dinner party at 8, and the other networks are showing the president's speech anyway. Argh!

re) Oprah's ball---they were advertising heavily for it on TV last night, but I'm pretty sure they've moved it to next Monday, the 22nd. Some1 else in the forum said the same.

can't wait for tonight's finale---Izzie is crazy!!! the whole time i kept thinking, are you serious, do u've any idea how much trouble (legal & otherwise) she could get into?!!! My b'frnd, who dsn't watch the show, came in2 the room when she was delivering her histrionic speech abt how Denny should consider ths dying thing for her---he was like, WTF?? i had 2 hit the mute button, couldn't take it anymore.

the ending with Burke on the floor was a total shock---i hope he's gonna b OK, i thnk he's the coolest one on the show.

i realize ths is a TV show & nowhere near real time, but it seems like George & Callie have gone on how many dates, how long have they been togethr? seemed a li'l premature for her to be blurting out the 'I luv you' bit. Ah well. i'm glad they've made George normal ag'n, for a while there he was really wimpy & annoying.

enuf w/ Denny!! oh & poor Addison, she seems so sad & hurt now.

After I watched last night's episode, I remembered reading something somewhere that said one of the interns would be leaving the program (not the show though). At that point the only one I could think of was Alex, because he had to take his tests again and he's been a general jackass to his superiors. But now it looks like it's going to be Izzy. Even if Denny doesn't die, there's pretty much no way she can continue to practice medicine. She cut the cord when she should have just unplugged something; then maybe it would have looked more like an accident.

Also, it seems as though Finn has a little trouble picking up on metaphors, lol.

Okay, Izzie is crazy. I was with her up until: "This will be the end of your medical career." "I don't care about my medical career!" Shut up Izzie, you idiot. Just keep him on that heart machine until he gets a heart. It is NOT that serious.

Well, between Meredith sobbing uncontrollably in bed with George and Izzie screaming hysterically about death, we now have a tie for the most achingly uncomfortable moment on television.

I think my internal dialogue during both was something like "this-is-so-so-so-creepy-please-be-over-please-be-over-please-be-how-is-this-still-going-on?"

I'm placing my bet now that Isaiah Washington is leaving us for greener pastures. Controversial, I know, but I stand by it (for now.) =)

Edit: Okay, that didn't last long. Heigl's got a film in pre-production? So I take it back. I think.

Ugh. I have some general problems with this show (Mer's voiceovers, the fact that everyone in this one surgical program is/has been/will be hooking up) but usually find it engrossing nontheless. Last night though, it kinda jumped the shark for me. I just think the whole Izzie cutting Denny's tube plotline is RETARDED. Everyone has raised good questions. Why not just unplug the machine? He was responding well to treatment, couldn't he have waited until the next heart came along? After all, he was now at the top of the list. Um, and Izzie knows that Denny is DNR. She watched him sign the papers. Should anything go wrong, he's screwed. I know she's not the brightest bulb but, for god's sake, she made surgical resident. You'd think she'd be able to think this through a little better. She's acting like she doesn't have a firing synapse in her entire brain. I mean, I know her character is supposed to be a little loopy but last night she officially qualified for BATSHIT levels of insanity.

All this being said though, I don't really care if Denny dies either. I just wish they had thought of another way to do it. Or at least made this storyline a little more plausible.

Oh, and Dr. Burke will be fine. He's bionic.

Ahh... am I the only one here that actually kinda likes Denny? Hah, and Izzie crying hysterically that she wanted to kill him (essentially) kinda got to me too. I guess I'm just a big sucker for insanity.

I'm really, really glad I taped Grey's last night so I could watch the Survivor reunion... now I only have to wait a few hours to see how this craziness ends. Oh and also, poor Addison. I used to hate her but I love her more and more the sadder she gets. Is that weird?

i think there are a lot of Addison fans out there, from the sound of it. I, too, remember thnkg when she 1st showed up on the scene, 'that bitch!' But now i totally sympathize, esp. b/c McDreamy is being so cold & harsh, a total McAsshole!

Pandaren, u're not alone! i know there's a lot of Denny fans out there, i've heard them on the reg. TVgasm posts. Personally, that storyline has gotten a li'l drawn out for my tastes. Too much crying, too much drama, too much unlikelihood---how often do u thnk that happens, that an intern falls for a patient? This is a show so of course, but this kinda scenario hardly seems believable in real life. nywys, enjoy tonite's finale!!

What kind of wine? That's funny b/c I bough a bottle of Tuaca so I can blame any crying on the alcohol instead of the fact that I'm a sentimental crybaby.

Do you know that when I was at happy hour today and trying to talk to the regs about this show, one of the guys loudly proclaimed "Zoobabe- you do know that it's just a television show right? You have to pull yourself away and get into the real world!" How dare he! That's why I would rather go to a TVgasm happy hour.:)

I like Denny but I bet he was probably like, yeah go ahead cut the cord, I'll die and be in heaven and you can hate me all you want. I just wonder what's going to happen if he gets the heart, lives, they start dating, her job is too envolved they break up and then what??? Hello, she works at a hospital 20 hours a day. I don't think this virle, young, horse of a man is gonna hang out all day waiting for her to come home every night. I taped the finale and haven't watched it yet. Why Monday? I had Prison Break, 24 and How I met your Mother. Kill me why don't you.

well, i SHOCKINGLY thought the way denny died was sort of sad. but thats due more to the human condition and how izzy will question if her actions were fully worth it or not.

poor she shep, i like her too much to have her be sad. thats like having dr bailey be sad! and thank god dr torres and george made up so she'll be returning with her girls.

I thought this was a very good finale, and Mondays ep. didn't seem like two hours. I think I got my sister-in-law hooked, she had never seen the show before. I was sad too, as a Denny fan, when he died, but Alex scored some good points with me. I kinda hope Mer picks the vet, thats what I would do, so she can be like, oh no bitch, you had your chance with me. Be unhappy.
