I copied this from another site. It's about the announcement of the new season's Stars.....

Usually, there's a one shot announcement on "Good Morning America" or something.

But because the announcement of the cast of "Dancing with the Stars" creates its own momentary buzz, ABC hopes to capitalize on it by sprinkling the announcements of the new cast that starts next month throughout Sunday night's roster of regular programming.

So amid the running of new episodes of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," "Desperate Housewives" and "Brothers & Sisters," the names will slowly be revealed. All this opposite a formidable ratings foe: The Grammy Awards on CBS.

But many people hereabouts may well be tuned to ABC anyway, since the "Extreme Makeover" episode will be the one shot in Connecticut in December, when Ty Pennington and company built a new home in seven days for the Girard family Voluntown.

"Dancing with the Stars," for its part, returns for its new season March 9.

Who else thinks that this list of "Who?" sucks big time! I'm so sad about this season's picks. For such a hugely high-rated show, they could find a little more known "stars".

Yeah, this year does seem a little lackluster. But TBH I don't know a lot of the competitors until the show actually starts (I mean, who ever heard of Brooke Burke before last year's show?)

I was just looking at the pairing for this season and there are 3 pros who were on So You Think You Can Dance. Lacey is back along with Chelsie from season 4 and Dmitry from season 2. It's interesting what a crossover seems to be happening.

I was excited to watch this season until I saw the cast. I have no clue who most of those people are and even after googling them I am still in the dark.

Oh well, I will tune in just to watch Samantha flub all her lines, Tom act like an idiot and listen to the judges squabble - and who can resist that many sequins in one spot? LOL

I just found out who Gilles Marini is. He's the hunky neighbor of Samantha from the Sex in the City movie. YUMMMMM.

I just heard that Jewel has already been injured on DWTS & will be replaced by Holly Madison of "Girls Next Door". Jewel will be on the first show & it will be explained why she is leaving. They probably have video of the injury & will show it repeatedly over the course of the show.

I'm happy Holly will be dancing. It will be fun to see if those boobs can shake & shimmy through a Samba!

Now Nancy O'Dell is out too. O'Dell suffered a twist to her right knee during rehearsals and has been diagnosed with a torn meniscus. Her replacement won't be announced until Monday on the show's premiere.

"The Bachelor"s jilted Melissa Rycroft will join "Dancing With the Stars" & replace Nancy O'Dell. She has been a cheerleader & has had ballet lessons.

Can you guys believe it! The two Steve's are still in it! I agree that Denise & Holly are awful, but they didn't totally forget their routine like Steve-O did & at least got higher scores than Waz. It shows that viewer voting is the way to stay in this thing.

I've been a bit irritated that the dancing is so lop-sided. It seemed to me that you could see who would make it to the finals the first week. Now I'm not so sure.

......and the costumes really suck this season.

Chooch, I agree! Denise was totally awkward and I wasn't exactly sorry to see her go, but no way she should have gone before Wozniak! I wouldn't have expected him to have a fan base big enough to survive this long, especially with scores like that from the judges!

My favorites are Melissa, Gilles, and Shawn.

I'm not sure I like the "new" tango but I sure love Gilles! I finally got to see the "Sex in the City" movie on HBO this weekend. WOW! Do you think that was his peen or a stand-in? hahaha! Now that's all I see when I watch him dance.

Holly, Waz, & Steve-O continue to suck at dancing & tonight's a double elimination so who will go home. I think Holly is a 'for sure' but I don't know about the other two. One should go, but will they. Who else is there that sucks? Lawrence or Chuck?

I'm finding our bull-riding cowboy Ty really adorable & I've got a school girl type crush on him. He's charming & that boy can cut a rug. I love him.

Yes, either Woz, Holly or Stevo should go, but I think Chooch & Tink were right about Woz writing the program to dial in and vote for him. The ones that are good are exceptionally good, 10's & 9's so early on! I'm not much of a Lil' Kim fan, but she looked absolutely stunning last night and her Tango was beautiful. She should do her makeup like that always.

Len was in a mood last night. I don't think he had a nice thing to say about anyone's performance.

I thought Lil' Kim was great. I see she was wearing nipple flowers & Tom helped her stuff them back in place!

I agree that Cheryl's choreography for her & Gilles dances are hectic & really fast-paced. I don't know what the hell she's trying to prove. She thinks she's got a winner this time. I agree with Len on this one. They need to slow it down.

The bottom two in the dance-off tonight..... I'm guessing it will be Lawrence & Steve-O. Because of Steve-O's huge fan base, it could be Ty instead. I really love Ty, so I hope he sticks around another week.

I thought Shawn was AWESOME last night! Her technique was great and her attitude was perfect. Perfect score worthy, in my opinion. :thumbup:

So last week on the results show, there was no dance-off. Did I miss the explanation on why that's not happening anymore?

The dancing is great this season. Ty & Lawrence are the only two who are not consistant, so I'm pretty sure they will not go too much further. After that, anyone of them could win. I'm favoring Gilles but that doesn't mean he'll win.

I don't think they ever explained the dance-off being dropped. I think it was because they had eliminated enough that it wasn't necessary anymore. The show isn't two-hours (it's an hour & a half) anymore either, so they don't need to fill in the time.

We were definitely a little befuddled by the song choices - Beyonce (okay, it's not the WHO, it's the WHAT in that case... can't stand that song!) and Britney? Although Womanizer actually worked pretty well with Team Tango's routine. The part at the end when everyone was in sync was pretty bad-ass.

I was really worried that Melissa was going home last night - it looked like she was too! Last night I realized that there's no one that I want to see go home at this point. I actually like them all!

I almost forgot - did anyone else just have to giggle when, before they announced who was going home and who was safe between Melissa and Chuck, Useless Samantha specified that it was "in no particular order"? :rolleyes2:

Maybe the point was that Melissa wasn't necessarily the 2nd lowest vote-getter, but it still seemed a little off.

Poor Ty. He's so sweet but he's soooo gone.

My favorite dance of the night... the one that "WOW"d me was Lil Kim's. The rest were good but none of them thrilled me.

The judges can't seem to be consistant on anything this season, especially Len. Tom's right when he said: "I don't know you anymore!"

Tonight will be fun watching the pro-wannabes with the ex-celebs. I really like Mayo. Too bad he's paired up with 'monster lips' Lisa Rhinna... ugh!

I agree! I thought last week during the group dances, the singing was horrific, especially when they danced to Single Ladies. It actually distracted me from the dancers. I wonder if there is a reason they don't just use the real music. Maybe too expensive? But the real question, who is worse, the singing or Samantha? I put my money on Samantha.

Oh lord! How could I forget about Melissa's boob falling out when she was walking over to the judges after her Samba! The camera didn't catch it, but the band got an eyefull..... hahahahaha!

Bruno can be such an ass sometimes with his flowery descriptions but this is my all-time favorite. He remarked on Lil' Kim's performance: ".... try to be a lady but more comfortable being a tramp."

I wish Cheryl Burke would quit trying to be the winner of this show... she's making Gilles look like an idiot! He's getting worse, not better.

:scared: what the?! I can't believe Lil Kim went home. I had her pegged to go to the finals!

Also, since when did the results show get so good? I never used to bother watching it, but I started recording it a few weeks ago because someone I liked was performing, and it's actually been worth watching each week. The performances are really good -although Jaime Callum saying he gets a kick out of cocaine was a little surprising haha-, and I've seen a ton of SYTYCD alumni (PASHA! :infatuated2:), which is a super bonus.

Speaking of... did anyone else notice Travis in the "stars of dance" performance piece? He looked great, and he is still one of my faves!

Also, I love the DanceCenter spots. They always manage to crack me up.

I wasn't all that surprised by Li'l Kim getting the boot, and I have no idea why. I figured it was either her or Ty, and even though she's the better dancer, I still thought she might be the one to go.

The boyfriend isn't really a fan of DWTS but he saw Dance Center last night for the first time and laughed his ass off. He liked it enough to say "you know what? I'd watch 2 hours of THAT and actually enjoy it." DWTS does a much better job of making their results shows entertaining than Idol does.

Choochie, you hit the nail on the head with Cheryl. Hasn't she been bitched at for dancing around her partner before? I wasn't a big Lil Kim fan (she graduated from the school of Mel B Stomping) so she won't be missed by me. I missed the boob flash....but then I usually do. I say Shawn and Melissa in the finals with melissa taking all.

The intertet gossip said that Lil Kim would probably be the one to go so I wasn't all that shocked either. I know she was tho.... and Samantha jumps right in there & asks "How does it feel?" hahaha! How can you not love her & her stupid 'filler' questions.

I've always liked the results shows. They aren't as long & are usually full of variety style entertainment. They really get some good musical guest altho all my cats ran out of the room when that douchebag Callum sang....awful, absolutely awful. Does he really make money singing like that???

Then the last 2 hours, they dance a third dance and the winner is announced.

He was amazing and Shawn was good - ok she was great - but he was AMAZING.

What did you guys think about the finale? I liked the performances by Lady Gaga and it was nice to revisit all the voted off dancers. I thought the roast was a bit harsh - but then that is how they tend to be.

I was okay with Shawn winning - I totally agree, Gilles was ridiculously good, but I would have been fine if any of the final 3 won. I thought it was adorable how shocked Shawn and Mark were when their names were announced; you could tell they expected Gilles to win too.

Lady Gaga was really good - I liked her a lot when she performed on Idol too.

I enjoyed seeing everyone dance one more time. I'm with Tom about Lil' Kim being in the final three. Oh well... I think Gilles was soooo much better than the girls. I think he lost votes because of Cheryl. She has quite the 'hate' fan base. I was surprised when they said Shawn's name. She was too!

I really didn't care for any of the free-style dances the night before. None of them "wow"ed me. They should have had more elegance to them, not all the crazy lifts & acrobatics.

I can't wait to see who they get for next season.... and yes, the 'roast' was brutal at times.... but I did like "Smokin', Croakin' & Flamin' "!

The worst part of this season was song choices. Some of the songs they danced to just didn't work. Who picks the songs?

I didn't know that, but I'm not surprised. She comes across as a condescending jerk. And she seems to have no problem hanging all over other peoples' husbands, which I find a tad inappropriate.

Who picks the songs?

Nigel Lythgoe, who is approximately 106 years old. I think the contestants have some input, but he's the guy.

Did anyone else think that LT was going to punch Jeffrey Ross out? lol. The roast was pretty funny, even though some of the jokes were just plain mean.

Also, I loved that Carrie Ann, Bruno, and Len all got out there with the contestants to give them some pointers. I love when the judges show what they're made of.
