Now we're all friends here, let's mention our first TVgasm experience.

Innocently, I was looking for a clip of a guy named "Tom Cruise." I think some of you might've heard of him. Apparently there was this incident on a little show called "Oprah" hosted by some chick "Oprah." And oddly enough this "Tom Cruise" fellow started jumping up and down on a couch. TVgasm had this awesome clip of it that I thoroughly enjoyed watching over and over again and showed everyone in the office. This was way back when that cute Asian family were in the headline... whatever happened to them? Anyways, TVgasm followed that gasm with the excellent coverage of The Friendship vs. The Sovereign (6 -> 5 -> 4 -> 3 ->2 -> 1 -> 0 ) and of course The Chenbot. Now I read TVgasm everyday and I hope I don't go blind doing it.

So when did you have your first TVgasm?

I'm not sure exactly how it came about, but somehow I found myself reading the BB6 recaps...and I had multiple TVgasms.

Same for me, around the time Michael got booted.

I followed a link from PerezHilton.com to this site and realized that not only was the snark highly appreciated, but the writers actually love the shows I love as much as I do (and are not ashamed to admit it)! Now I have a TVGasm every day, and I want a shirt for my birthday in September!:)

Last summer during BB6 - I was reading the daily recaps on Jokers Updates when I clicked on a link to here. Reading the articles by EdHill, B-Side and J-Unit reminded me of when I read my first National Lampoon. I had found MY people.
Most of my friends are NOT into the kind of crap TV shows I love and would roll their eyes at me when I needed to snark about Pumpkin on Flav or about Santino on PR.
Now I have my gasm to get me off each time I log on!

Sorry, I didn't have a first gasm by finding the site in an obscure fashion. It was Mischa Barton's nip slip. I have been a fan ever since and pass the site along to all. Zoobabe, I think a T-shirt would also be a great gift!

I don't even remember how I found TVgasm, but I remember that the first thing I read was the coverage of the Amazing Race: Family Edition. TVgasm made the rest of that season watchable for me! Couldn't have done it without you, B-Side!

I know my first real tvgasm was during BB6 when Howie won head of household and I cheered and screamed (oh, little did I know how he'd muck that up)..I had already found the site and just thought it was a funny quirky little name, but when that happened the light bulb went on and it was like, ohhhh this is what they're talking about!!!

My first time was while I was watching RR/RW Challenge: Gauntlet II. I needed to feel that I wasn't alone in thinking what a self-righteous fool Kina was. I got so much more than I was looking for. Goodness, it felt so wonderful.

I used to log on a Weight Watcher's suport network board & I got to where I didn't care about what people had to say about what they ate that day & crap & only posted on threads about tv shows. Someone there let the cat out of the bag about TVGasm & I haven't been back since. Is that wrong? I don't think so. :p

^ That's the most interesting story so far. If loving TVGasm is wrong, I don't want to be right!

What a cool avatar. Reminds me of watching Star Trek. I miss that show (all the different versions).

I had my first TVgasm while searching for information on Pat the Insider guy and his attempts at wooing some poor woman in a restaurant in NYC. This was the place where I could hear how gross he was for myself...then I got hooked on all the snarkiness in the recaps and the hilarious commentary from everyone here--thank "yew" all!

Was in January when I was looking for that crazy dude from Taxi who was on Celebrity Fit Club last season. I googled something about it and "Celebrity Benadryl Club" came up and it was love. I work night shift...shared it w/ my night shift buddy and we gasm all night long regularly.

It was BB5, I was googling naked pictures of Scott (don't judge me) and got a link to TVGASM where I saw the oh-so-hilarious video of Scott and Jase, a love story.

It was an instant recapgasm and I bookmarked the site on the (wet) spot!

Btw, I eventually found the Playgirl photos - what a disappointment. Blecch. then again I always hated him and wasn't expecting to see anything that was going to change THAT opinion.

I innocently enough followed a link from a poster on another board about some great theories (Probably his own) on Lost.

I read the recap... snarky, yet serious. Dry, but moist. Cutting and healing.

I couldn't help myself. I needed more of that good stuff.

Before I knew it, found myself reading recaps of shows I'd never even heard of, much less watched.

Now, I'm ashamed to say (yet tingle inside) that those shows are now on my dvr schedule. Its been a passionate road that I hope never ends.

Can we cuddle?

I'm a newbie to TVgasm. As I shared under the 'getting to know you' thread, I was becoming disillusioned about the site/forums where I had been participating, and was looking for a new site that was a better fit for me. I'm impressed with y'all's (!) intelligent, well-written, funny, and friendly posts :) And I believe that I'll be sticking around for awhile!

My husband watches some of the shows with me, but he isn't INTO them as deeply as I am, and doesn't fully understand. It's fun to come here and feel as though I've found "my people" :p

Funny story? I love all shows along the lines of "101 Things Removed from the Humany Body"...and when I find someone else who also loves those shows/stories & doesn't go all queasy, it's like the floodgates open! Suddenly we're talking about all sorts of strange, gross, scary, nasty things...and yesterday at a pool party/BBQ a few of us got going like that, and suddenly we realized that people were getting up & moving away from the table/area! :o We sort of shrugged our shoulders, muttered "whimps!" and kept talking and laughing! Hee.

her's funny story to share OG. My friend's wife works as a nurse and she told him about a time that a very obese woman was brought in for surgery. As they were prepping/cleaning her - they found some coins, lint and a m&m stuck in her stomach rolls! Gross huh? We died laughing!

OMG, you reminded me of a story a friend of mine who is a surgery tech told me. A patient asked that while she was under anesthesia could they clean her belly button because something "smells funny." When they got a good look in there, she had a dead fly decomposing in there--eewww!

I just thought of one, though...
When I worked at an innercity Detox, one of our "regulars" came in. He was a homeless man, and when he took off his sock, he had an infection on his foot. Maggots started crawling out of his foot and across the floor. One of the nurses called my office and was like "You have to come see this now!!" It was the grossest thing I have ever witnessed.

Oh I wish I could say I've never seen maggots coming out of a wound, but alas I have. We also get our share of lice and scabies too

Okay that's really gross.

My first gasm was during BB5 and the infamous 5-fingered plan was devised to oust Jase. The look on his face when he realized he had been played was pure wonderful.

Aww scabies - makes me think of Real World's Mel - isn't it funny how all things come back round to Reality TV.

I first found TVgasm during season 4 of "24," you know the one where we first met President Pussy after Air Force One crashed in the desert. And thanks to you guys, I got addicted to BB6 - I had never watched it before and only did so because you were so excited. I'll be watching again this summer!

My name is Jelliepair and I am a tvgasm addict. It all started while traveling to a funeral across the state and being trapped in a motel room with nothing to do for an entire afternoon. I happened upon a marathon of the show Top Chef on Bravo. I watched all the episodes (pausing only to go to the funeral home - the reason I went across state to begin with) well into the evening.

Upon returning home and attempting to add this show to my dvr, I found that our cable company didnt offer Bravo anymore - I was outraged. So I started surfing the net for things about Top Chef - I was obsessed with this show.

Thats how I found TVgasm while searching for Top Chef (Reality tv) blogs. While Tvgasm doesnt blog Top Chef, they did blog just about everything else and I have been hooked every since. Its like a disease for me which has spread because I now read about shows I dont watch just to hear the snarky comments and I post my most witty or bitter thoughts. It is an obsession.

I am addicted.

At another forum I go to, one of my friends mentioned TVgasm as a place for a recap of a show that I had missed. I think it was an episode of Survivor (All Stars?, Panama? can't remember which one). I have been hooked ever since. It is nice to have a place to share obsessions over certain shows. Can't wait for Lost to have some new episodes. Especially with a new hunky guy coming aboard!!!

Change is in the air and I think it's time we reflect back on what has made TVgasm so great to so many people. It's an ending of an era and time to mark a memorial before The Change becomes complete and we say goodbye once again.

- Tom Cruise jumping on a couch on Oprah

- J-Unit & B-Side go on a search for Shane's Blackberry

- Countless laughs from B-Side's Amazing Race & Survivor recaps

- The Summer of Big Brother Recaps and The Chenbot

- Watching Amazing Race and waiting for PhilDeath or PhilPackage

What are some of your classic TVgasm memories?

Good bump...
I will state quickley that I had been reading recaps on the left side of the forum but it wasnot until I opened the forum chat threads that I had my first gasm..... just like Christmas for me, which I have already stated....

so on to the new Q

I go back only to the competion for new recapper in charge of Top Chef... I first bumped into B-side there and quickly fell under the spell.... but what made it great here for me was cheering on, voting for, and celebrating Flipit's win on the Top Chef Thread.... He was brought in by the old guard and I can't imagine tvgasm without him........

-Flipit branding Marcel with the nickname 'Monkey boy' on Top Chef

I've gone one step further and started a list of links to my favourite posts during the golden age of TVgasm.

For the record. We are now in the post-Apocalyptic age.

Anywho, for those of you who want to remember the good old days, or those of you who don't realize what you missed:

Are you saying Skeet Ulrich will now be doing recaps because really... what can't he do? Or can we expect Tina Turner to return to the forums... Two Bloggers enter, one Blogger leaves! I was reading online about Lost--not sure where, and there was mention of TVgasm. I checked it out, and I've been hooked ever since. Now I read it for everything--ANTM, American Idol, Amazing Race, and even Grease! I am so glad I found it!
