I, EdHill, received this today in my inbox from sg-dub...
I'm alive and well. My sudden disappearance didn't exactly make national news - I guess since I didn't get eaten by a shark, didn't start a War on Christmas, and I'm not a missing blond girl, you didn't hear about me on the news. Alas, the truth is much less exciting.
A confluence of events occurred all at once that worked against me finishing out the seasons of the two shows I was recapping. I work at a Fortune 100 company and was on a 3 person team in charge of moving an entire database from one vendor to another. Blah, blah, blah... Put it this way - I worked yesterday, Mother's Day, for several hours. I also took several days off to visit my family a couple weeks ago who aren't exactly Tivo/iMovie/Broadband equipped. Upon my return home, I tried to install the new Mac OS which didn't go so well and suffice it to say, I haven't been able to log on since.
Not enough for ya? Well, my wife returned to work after her maternity leave and I don't have to tell anyone with a baby what that means. Bottom line: Increased work hours + severely increased baby-dub responsibilities = severely diminished recapping ability. Put it this way, after the next two weeks of finales, I will be wiping my two TiVos pretty much clean of the shows we all love to hate, never to return again. We have planned the sacrifice ceremony for Saturday, May 27. Say a little prayer for me.
Oh, I'll still be around and will hopefully post some Paula Deen Coronary Watches as well as some other little stuff. And who knows, once I get in a groove with my little family, I may find time to skewer some show in the not-too-distant future.
I don't mean to whine and I don't expect your pity - just thought I'd explain myself a bit. But rest assured, I will definitely find time to make it to the hypothetical CT Happy Hour. If only to cock-block EdHill all night long.
