The makeovers really should be renamed to "fug-overs." Also, I'm not sure if I'm on board with the whole short models thing. Where/ how will they work when it's all over? It's silly. Actually... not many of the winners actually work, anyway, though, so maybe it doesn't matter?

If we're going just by looks....Courtney is my fave. Shes got the potential to be super glam, but can rock the natural look as well. Everyone else looks kinda frumpy (i think thats the word im looking for)

I think so. I like it because it's only 30 minutes long, there aren't any challenges, no Tyra and no judging with critiques that make no sense - "You're too Carmen Miranda in this Carmen Miranda challenge."

i really liked the photoshoot concept this week. it was cute. and i liked most of the pictures too. loved jennifer's photo in the sand! i also like nicole, although it seems like she smoked copious amounts of pot prior to talking. but she really brought it to the photo shoot and i was impressed. i like Lulu's new hair and i like Laura's picture too. although i think her southern drawl is going to bother the hell out of me.

kara's mouth is crazy big. i'll have to see how she works it in additional photo shoots. and bianca was a pain in the ass. i wish they would have sent her home as well.

i was on the phone with my mom when tyra was picking her models of the season. so who was picked & then dropped out? and why? was it that amber super religious girl? cause she was annoying as i dont know what.

The red headed girl may have no personality, but she BROUGHT IT during her photo shoot. Bianca needs to get over herself right quick. Who cares if you don't like your make-up? And her photo was bad, she had a big shiny light on the top of her head. The shoes they made Rae wear were ridiculous, I would have not put them on until they were ready to photograph me.

I like Miss Tyra's new darker long weave. And it looks like she lost some weight, was I imagining things or was she showing her belly at panel last night?

I went to the CW website and looked at the pics of all the girls and im NOT digging the icy white blonde OR the fact that they have NO EYEBROWS. its HORRID. Im rather disappointed in Courtney's makeover as well :( She was my favorite from the very first photos

I DO like what they did with Kara (straight brown hair to wavy lighter hair), and Sundai (from long not so healthy look hair to a short Rhianna kinda thing).

I hate that they go to such extreme with the hair color, like the bleach blonde or really dark or the flaming red. I guess they do that to make them stand out, but I still think a lot of times it looks crappy. And why do they always have to give them weaves if they have real hair?

Definitely didn't like the bleaching of the eyebrows. I don't think that looks all that good either.

I was shocked that Sundai's picture was so awful. I thought she was such a standout at the beginning - but, her picture was definitely yuck. So was that girl's who got to come back and replace Jesus-Freak.

I was happy to see the model with the baby had the best picture for the week. I was a young mom (I'm oooold now), so I usually find myself pulling for the mommies.

I had a friend who was 5'8 and 145 lbs and they (a modeling company, not tyra :P) told her she needed to "knock off a few" and come back and try again.

If they didn't keep Bianca, there would be no drama. She's similar to Jade a few seasons back: needing to learn to be humble, realize she doesn't know everything, mix it up with a bunch of girls in the house, go on the trip, do well on go-sees, but blow it big time during the Cover Girl commercial.

I also felt mortified for Rachel (the girl who got cut at Wilhemina). How horrible it was for her that she couldn't sing anything or come up with anything remotely interesting about herself? Apparently, she's never been on a job interview. Always have something to say, even if it's bullshit! LMAO. The drama of her elim was terrible, though, since they really didn't show any other girl tanking.

First I have to say that is was bullshit putting that horrid blonde wig on Bianca, no one and I mean no one - including Tyra could have pulled off a good picture with that rat thing on her head. Besides which none of the other black/ethnic girls had wigs that were so awful on them.

Having said that, her picture would have looked bad even without that wig. She just looked awful. No way should Courtney have gone home instead of Bianca. Even if she didn't "smize" (*shudder*) properly, her picture was so much better than Bianca's.

I did feel bad for the girl who got trashed at the modeling agency, but she was bad to begin with so I wasn't too upset to see her go.

You know, I don't think it was particularly fair of the judges to say she had no neck after giving her a ruff made of squeegee balls. A ruff made of thick squeegees does not make anyone's neck look swanlike and graceful. *Iman* wouldn't have a neck in an outfit like that. This is true. Also, "petite" is technically 5"3 (sometimes 5"4 depending on the line) and above. Girls who are 5"6 or 5"7 would be much better off wearing "normal" sizes unless they are extremely narrow through the shoulders. Some of these girls are def not petite. :D

Not with that eye, I'm afraid. It wouldn't be practical to hire a girl who can't show a wide range of expressions. She would be quite limited and it might end up hurting her eye more. Photoshoots can take a long time. She really has to show more range than she might be able to show. Kind of sad b/c she is so pretty and has lovely proportions. Who knows in Tyra world though?

I am a big fan of the portmanteaux. I make them up all the time. That being said, not just ANYTHING can be a portmanteaux. For example "smiling eyes" does not need to be shortened. "Portmanteaux fanaticism" should be. Therefore, I am guilty of portmanticism.

I am a big fan of the portmanteaux. I make them up all the time. That being said, not just ANYTHING can be a portmanteaux. For example "smiling eyes" does not need to be shortened. "Portmanteaux fanaticism" should be. Therefore, I am guilty of portmanticism.

I love TvGasm; it provides such stress relief and keeps me from killing all the innocent souls in my office for things like "breathes too loudly through nose" or "steals from my Dr Pepper stash." Grr.

Anyhoo, I was really, really excited about this cycle because I am quite short ... right up until Tyra opened her mouth for the first time. Apparently, smaller models = super-sized Tyra smarm. Good job, Tyra, of feeding these girls’ short complexes. Most of them shouldn’t even have those complexes to begin with as they aren't that short. But I know I have one and, as such, have spent most of these episodes twitching like a ferret, muttering obscenities under my breath about a skank-weaved, condescending Amazonian t#@ts given not one, but two, TV shows to show exactly how much of a skank-weaved, condescending Amazonian t#@t she is. Grr. (Not only am I Napoleon, I live in a town formerly known as Waterloo. How fitting.)

So, Tyra is a certifiable dead-horse beater. Shetland ponies, fear her greatly! She is going to beat it into her captive midget audience exactly how poor and defenseless they are in the big, bad modeling industry and how no one defends them except Super Smize. Damn, they are going to need extensive therapy.

All the while, Kate Moss, legitimately short for a model at 5"6 and-a-half, prances around in her knickers, smoking and shagging various anemic rock stars, and scores a cool $10 mill a year as the 2nd richest supermodel. See, I don't buy Tyra’s petite line here. Seven of the girls are 5”6 and over. She has only two women under 5”5 (the rest are 5”5) – Sundai (a very pretty girl, for sure, but she isn’t really model material) and Courtney (who is highly commercial, would do well for print ads, but is now gone). They are all pretty girls, but there aren’t really any standouts that I can see so far, except, maybe Laura or Nicole. Laura b/c she has a bit of the “It” face – not too pretty without makeup, but damn, when its on, she is. And then she opens her mouth. (Wow, that accent.) Nicole because, really, there are tons of girls in the modeling world who look like her. She is very photogenic when she doesn't look comatose. Laura and Nicole are Moss’ size or taller.

Lots of potential breakdown material on this show. I kept rolling my eyes whenever Tyra passed over a model-looking girl during the auditions for a sob story like Sundai. (Oh how do I hate that girl’s name? It makes me grind my teeth.)

So I’m betting every short girl has had a memorable moment in their life where it was really rubbed in how different they are. Mine happened at 16. I was sitting with some friends at an ice cream shop in the mall and a man stopped by our table and asked me if I had ever thought of modeling b/c my features were "absolutely stunning." I said "no," and honestly, as much as I love fashion, I knew I wasn’t model material in the least. The very least, in fact, as I was about 4”5 and 75 pounds at the time. He was leaving as I stood up to get a refill on my drink and as he passed by me he said, "Oh, what a tragedy!" and looked me up and down. I said, “Huh?" and he said, "Well, when you were sitting down, you were absolutely beautiful, but when you stood you became ... cute."

I don't think there are words to put the amount of loathing that man managed to twist into the word "cute;" suffice to say *I* now loathe the word "cute" more than any other word in the English language (except for "squelch" which sounds icky, and "specific" because I always end up saying it with a lisp for some odd reason). I bet these girls do, too. (Loathe cute, not the other things.) And if they don’t, they will soon, with Tyra playing the short card all damn cycle. Showing only "petite" models? Fine. Putting them in a house modeled off of Alice in Wonderland? Kiss my arse. Repeatedly beating into them they are short? Maybe it’s meant to be a reality check, but, for real, it gets tiring. Seriously, there are a limited number of short jokes in the world, and most shorties have heard them a zillion times. Tyra pulling every pathetic one out of the cliche bag is making this cycle tiring before it really even begins. Jockies, rulers and pint-sized pics, oh my! If she wanted this to be taken seriously, she'd quit the short shtick and treat these young ladies like actual models instead of being a cow. Get off your pedestal, literally; you are tall enough already. But wait, this is Ty-Ty. Shtick is what makes her tick. Well, that and pimping herself.

I bet many of the "chips on the shoulder" these girls are displaying come from this sort of treatment every day of their life (I know mine does). Take Sundai (*gag, name, gag*). NOT ONLY is she poor and blah blah blah … she’s also short. Double whammied! And Bianca, not only is she “short” (at 5”7, the bitch is nearly a foot taller than me, but evs), but she also has no eyebrows and looks like an alien! Awesome. None of these girls are Naomis or Kates or Lilys. They are going to have to work to earn their living. And Bianca should sue whichever makeup artist pointed out to the judges the harshness of her face by turning her into a Tranny Jockey. Learn your angles before you audition and don’t expect natural beauty to work for you! She looked like a Rupaul mini-me in the Jockey shoot, only more mannish. There will always be someone prettier or more interesting or, hell, taller. I have to admit when I'm dressing a tall woman for a show, I get jealous, and I am just a stylist. These girls would be surrounded by the crème de la crème of the tall bitches. You gotta walk like you are taller than them and they are beneath you. I realize that most of these girls probably wanted to be models growing up, but I doubt they have any idea of the constant rejection they are going to face in the industry. If they even toed a foot into it, they will get it handed right back to them every time. And that is before they even get backstage at a show.

I mean, I *hate* getting pet on the head (“Woof”) by a stick insect who weighs less than I do (!!!), is two feet taller and looks great in everything. This will happen in the fashion industry when you are short and surrounded by Amazons. You have to bite your lip and imagine the tub of ice cream you are going to eat tonight that they can’t because they have to diet to be small. (Ha, take that, Twig Lady! Enjoy your Altoid-Champers cocktail! I am totally eating that chunky monkey tub!) Not to mention having someone asked how tall you are. This is par for the course in modeling, but a bit of a sticky wicket for a short person. This happens once a day for me regardless of which job I’m at, and, still, at 34, I have a hard time not snapping, “How much do you weigh?” right back at them. And, Bianca, you can’t kick the fashion designer’s kneecaps because he says you aren’t leggy enough to carry off his look. That is considered bad form in the fashion industry.

I've always felt that taller people look freakish -- pretty much any guy over 6'3" or so starts to look abnormal. And as for taller women -- it's pretty rare they pull off sexy. Scary, yes. Sexy is a lot more difficult. There's a reason Playmates were always on the shorter side.

Before living in France, I lived in Amsterdam. Where EVERYONE is over 6'5" (and blond). It was surreal being there. Like somehow I stumbled onto another planet altogether.

Anyway, they kept the bald one because they're hoping for drama from her, since she obviously doesn't know how to keep her mouth shut. They got rid of the girl on crutches because...well, she has broken fucking foot. I mean, what the hell were they thinking letting her on anyway? Sure, it's too bad for her, but them's the breaks.

I kind of like the ice blonde with the ice eyebrows (the one that won this week). My favorite's still Nicole, although she didn't get much screen time this week.

Still, I have to figure they already know who's going to win -- I mean, the president of Wilhemina has already looked them over. I'm assuming that means he's already picked out the one (or two or three) that he'd conceivably want in his agency. Which also means that his word is probably the decisive word.

The rest of them are just cannon fodder and, when it gets down to it, there's actually no more reason for the season to be.

Except to let Tyra play. I actually find her quite amusing, in a John Waters way. Next week I want her to say: "I need eggs. Gimme eggs. Please!"

Another way to look at the show is as a Seinfeld-like sitcom, driven by a central character with an array of more or less wacky sidekicks. Only with a chorus of cute girls thrown in. And fewer jokes.

I really shouldn't bitch about Ty-Ty. We've had many cycles to see what a complete egomaniac the woman is. Model card? Goodness, I hope not. People would think I am a perpetually pissed off leprechaun were that the case. (Though a perpetually pissed off leprechaun with fantastic fashion sense.) I don't pull mine out unless someone is iding me at a club (bad lighting -- yay!). I much prefer my library pass to my DL b/c I actually look human in it. I've always been of the theory that you are supposed to look terrible in a DL pic. How else would it turn out when you have to wait three hours in line next to a man whose child alternates between peeing on the floor and picking his nose to get a mugshot of yourself, taken by a troll with a pug fetish? It is a recipe for a disastrous DL picture, no less harrowing than an ANTM challenge. :)

Ashley and Lulu flipping like short persons (Tyra would LOOOOOOVE that dig, if she came up with it herself) and showing themselves to be catty, devious, and manipulative. By the end of the episode I was beside myself, rooting for Bianca not to be in the bottom two and for the Mean Girl Twins to be there instead.

Side note, Sundai’s picture was worse than Brittney’s. Girl was robbed. Ok so she held her dress at an angle that did not elongate her. However, her picture was prettier. Sundai… Not so damn much.

I like the idea of a DL challenge! I've always taken great passport pictures (to the point that I don't look much like myself after popping off a 14-hr flight), but driver's licenses are notoriously the worst pictures you ever have to have taken. The lighting is bad, the camera crap, the operator's have the best sense of timing for getting the shot totally wrong -- generally when you somehow manage to have one eye open and one closed.

And Tyra likes to employ really horrid actors right? How hard would it be to be a DPS employee? You either act like you are completely bored out of your tree or a sadistic b*****d. Or both at the same time. Maybe Tyra could be the (no doubt French-accented) DPS employee and make these her shots (b/c she's so multi-talented). :p

ITAWTS. Yeah, Brittany was robbed. While I get what the judges were saying about her neck, she was "smizing" and doing a classic shot. Was it a bit twee? Of course, but that doesn't stop all the magazines from using the ballerina posing (especially with the styles currently on the runway). It's used all the time in Vogue, granted by taller women (and Brittany is aiming for a teen magazine and that is a teen shot).

I don't think Sundai will be cut anytime soon because she is the shortest girl left. In order for this show to be legit, they need the shortest girl possible and they already dumped Courtney (who was 5"4), probably because she couldn't walk. This show is so stupid-obvious sometimes.

I was so glad to see LuLu go. The editing is pretty bad this year that we keep getting surprised by the appearance of apparently OOC behavior. When she, Ashley and Kara confronted Nicole for talking to Bianca, I got pissed. I know most of the girls are barely out of high school, but, really, that was just shitty. And Sundai is a little shit stirrer -- wasn't she the one going around spreading crap about people? Guh. I'd die in a house like that -- or strangle someone. I hate it when women are so insecure they start with the Mean Girl tactics. I'm really liking Nicole, both in pics and person. She was right not to get involved in the beginning if this is the sort of behavior they have in the house. I finally watched this episode tonight and I have to say, the judges finally got it right about who to send home. Honestly, Lulu was just a bitch and her gossip buddy needs to go next.

I was watching the photoshoot and I am sure that Brittany had a better shot than the one that Tyra showed. I wonder sometimes about why she picks the pictures she chooses. What lesson was she trying to teach Brittany tonight?

I didn't think Bianca's shot was any better this week than it has been in previous weeks - she still looks angry as hell and telling me over and over that she let some man beat the hell out of her for an extended period until he put her in the hospital doesn't make me feel sympathetic to her. Honestly, I can't see that woman letting any man hit on her without hitting the hell out of him back.

I missed this episode, though I did read the recap. Not sorry to see Bianca go. She is a physically pretty girl, but her pictures are so awful and I don't think she is very nice. It is really hard, I think, for the girls with the bald heads - they really only have one look because when you stick a wig on them, it just looks like you stuck a wig on them and it is really hard to look soft in a picture with a bald head.

I didn't care much for some of Tyra's pictures - what was with the scarves over the faces? Just strange.

I did like Laura's picture though. I don't think she is much in person, but she takes make up well. Tyra will let her go with her speech and the way she dresses until it is too late for her to do anything about it and then Tyra will knock her for it. Poor thing.

I thought all of the group pictures this week were pretty awful. They should have taken all the girls best shots and photoshopped them together. It was unfair that some girls pictures got "dragged down" by another model.

I felt really bad for the girls when they had to come up with a routine and dance. I would have died from embarrassment. There is a huge difference between striking a pose and doing choreography.

Glad to see Kara's gone. She didn't seem to know her angles very well and her pictures reflected that. She's a bit too 80s/90s, a wider-jawed Brooke Shields, and pretty just doesn't make a model good. Besides, most of the popular models right now have a much more ethereal look, very much like Nicole and Erin. Russians and Scandinavians with icy features.

Laura -- damn, she's great in pictures, but in person? Wow. Don't open your mouth. Of course, they don't mock her the way they do Nicole (to her face), which reads unfair to me. It's ok to pick on stoners but not hicks? (Granted, most stoners don't carry shotguns in their trucks; and even if they did chances are they wouldn't be able to hit a target.) I feel for Nicole, but the girl is pretty. If she gets cut by Tyra for having no personality, another agency will pick her up; not everyone cares about personality.

Kara's attitude really bothered me, so I am not sad to see her go. Her pictures were pretty enough, but there was never any emotion in them. Probably b/c she comes off as a bitter hag.

Jennifer and her wonk eye just doesn't do it for me. Sexy? Really? Give me a break.

Not that fond of Sundai; I hated her photos this week and last week with that stupid mohawky thing on her head. She's very commercial in a TV sort of way, but her editorial shots don't look that great. Being told she was great last week -- which I didn't get -- really went straight to her head. Evil edit? Maybe. She's been an instigator all season. Every time you saw girls bitching about another girl, she was there, supplying rumors. Still, she's the shortest girl left, so I don't think Tyra will want to get rid of her yet. They could stand to lose Rae first.

i think that tyra & co need to judge the girls on their entire portfolio & not on a week by week basis or on a whim. i cant believe that erin & rae were the bottom two this week. but if they were judging based on this week's performance only then erin should have gone home. her commercial was horrible. nothing says a great covergirl commercial like crying thru it! but based on their entire performance to date, i think sundai should have gone home. sending rae home because she wasnt memorable was BS.

YES! How on Earth did she win? And has any of her Covergirl commercials actually played? Even during an ANTM segment? I haven't noticed if they have. However Allison was so memorable and dare I say likeable. Not that there was anything horrible about her such as the antics harking back to the days of (the Real) Bianca and Jade, but she didn't inspire in me a liking of her.

The only winner in the past few years that I was truly excited for was Whitney. When Saleisha (sp?) won I was so mad. Ok, I am hopping off my soap box for now.

I haven't really been watching this cycle - just tuning in to see the photo shoot and the elimination. But I agreed with her flipping her head. Was driving me nuts! Not only that, in prior years they gave the girls crap for doing that head bobbing thing during the commercials.

I do like Laura. Yeah, she is a hick and doesn't talk well, but she seems sweet and she takes such great pictures. She seems really earnest - which means Tyra will just screw her over in the end.

Why is Sundai still on my screen? Every time I see her name in print, I pronounce it "Sun die" - which I find vastly annoying (and accurate!) She is ugly and entirely too short to ever have any kind of modeling career, plus her voice is way annoying. She just really needs to go.

BRITTANY?!?! Really?!?!?! REALLY!?!?!! Excuse my astonishment and much use of all caps, but REALLY?!?!?!? BRITTANY? Two hours later and I am STILL shocked, befuddled, and infuriated that BRITTANY was eliminated. And before Sundai!!!

And while I am on this raving lunacy of mine, JENNIFER being called before LAURA?!?!?! REALLY!?!?! At the end of every season I am a raving lunatic upset at the choices of Tyra and her minions (with the exception of the cycle that Whitney won – girl was/is hot). This season it seems to have hit about three weeks earlier than normal, and every season I swear it’s my last.

After panel I thought for sure that the order would be my all-star Nicole, Laura, Brittany, Erin, rounding the bottom two with Sundai and Jennifer, eliminating Sundai. Once they called Jennifer before Laura my world was upside down and I was confused and yelling at the television. Poor Sandra Day O’Connor (my perfect and gorgeous yellow lab) was just as confused by my reaction; she could give a hoot about Tyra and the shorties. I did not see that bottom two coming, I still don’t. Sundai, Erin, and Jennifer have given almost the EXACT same poses in all of their shots and haven’t been called on it. When has Sundai ever WOWED Tyra, like Brittany did in the scarf shoot. I’d have to head over to Wikipedia and check out their handy-dandy chart to see how many challenges and first calls Brittany got over Jennifer, Erin, or Sundai – and I’m guessing it more than those three combined.

I guess my only consolation (ok perhaps 3) is that (1) Nicole is still in it (if Nicole doesn’t win I am so done!), (2) Laura is still in (I love that girl), and (3) Brittany is guaranteed an actual career now that she has been eliminated. Wait, by that thinking I should be rooting for Sundai to win. That would make about as much sense as that girl’s whose name I can’t recall with the largest forehead in the world that won last season.

I tuned in for the elimination and then said to my son - Sundai should go, her picture stinks, but since she is the only black girl left at this point, she will stay for a few more weeks. The only reason I can see for Jennifer being called first is that Tyra hasn't had an Asian winner yet and she is prepping Jennifer for that role; clearly there were other pictures that were much better than Jennifer's.

Since I didn't see the whole episode, I didn't get the whole "mixed-race" thing and didn't understand exactly what Tyra was going for with the photo shoot - but some of those combos were just bizarre. And how come Tyra was the photographer again? Is she running out of people who will take pictures for her?

This season is just all over the place.

Well, they did telegraph the bottom two the entire episode, so I really don't get the surprise.

Although I agree, Sundai ought to be out of there. Erin's still in because she's gorgeous and definitely looks more like a model than any of the others, excepting Nicole. I like it that she appears fairly aware of her lack of maturity (and she's pretty well spoken too).

I was kind of half-hoping for a Hasid mixed with a Shiite. That would have been a hoot.

I looked up the charts to see if Brittany really was getting worse from week to week as Tyra claimed, and she actually seemed to be getting better; at least, in the beginning, Erin was consistently placing higher than she was, and then as the weeks went on, Brittany began getting called out before her.

Anyone else think Tyra's ego is getting a bit more obvious each episode? She was all smiles with Sundai until Sundai said something (I don't remember exactly what, although I do remember she was talking over her a lot) and it went from so pretty! to looks like a 12 year old.

But as long as Nicole and Laura are the final two, I'll be happy.

Of course they knew that she'd be left out in the picking who gets the extra frames bullshit thing. And they of course chose to do this on a shoot where having a second go was pretty much essential to getting a decent shot at it.

They're picking on her, showing the bits where she (like pretty much any 18-year-old) says stupid shit -- and preserving the others from the same treatment so she'll look all that much worse by comparison.

And of course their photo criticisms are all entirely arbitrary from week to week, girl to girl....

So if she doesn't get kicked out next week, then I'm expecting her to win. Nicole's just too much the obvious choice at this point. And as cute as she is, Laura's just a fish out of water.

They gave Jennifer the win this week partly not to give it Nicole, but mostly because she has to go next week. Her and Laura.

I have decided after reading the Survivor forum that you dear sir, are a masochist (said with love). If you were feeling just Erin I could conclude that you had a soft spot for youngin’s who whine (although I do agree with you that with a few years Erin will most likely mature and move away from the personality traits that are edited to their worst light on this show). However, seeing as how you are also feeling Monica from Survivor, I just plain pity you. =) Perhaps we can arrange an intervention for you. Yes these girls are attractive, but would you really want to spend more than five minutes (one minute?) with them without a sizeable amount of duck tape over their mouths?
All that said, I have loved your previous posts and many have caused me to laugh out loud and agree with you. On the topic of Erin and Monica though, I will start the covert machinations of an intervention!

Never said I was 'feeling' Monica (I'm from a different generation, no way I'd ever use that expression anyway!), only that she's up there with the hottest Survivorettes. Which includes Parvatti, for what that's worth. And the bitchy gal from a couple seasons back, the one with Sugar.

So it's not a personality contest. Personality wise, so far, Monica's been a bit of a drip. Though she started to show a bit of gameplay last episode.

There's just something about Erin that tugs at my heartstrings. Just can't help myself. I mean, I was almost on board with the evil edit, until they showed her acknowledging that she's young and immature in one of her interviews. That was enough to redeem her. Maybe because I was probably even more of an idiot when I was her age.

Anyway, I liked all final four girls, which is a very rare thing for a show like this. There's no question Nicole's got something special in front of the camera. Kind of goofy looking when she's not. Still, Laura doesn't stand a chance (although she had that amazing Ann Margaret thing going during the beach shoot).

Yayyyy! I'm happy for Nicole. I think Laura would have been an excellent choice as well, however. It was really sad seeing her break down and cry when she lost!

So Nicole was one of the tallest if not THE tallest girl in this cycle...I mean, she's 5'7", which, although on the lower end of the scale, is still in model territory. So if she makes it big, Tyra will take all this credit for "changing" the modeling industry when, in fact, Nicole could have made it on her own (and not as a petite model).

Granted, Nicole was good (she looked so stunning in that CoverGirl commercial!)...but do you think the fact that she has a better chance of making it (bc of her height) influenced the judge's decision at all?

I agree, Nicole's walk was horrible!!! I loved how the judges tried to justify it at the panel saying that at first it was awful but then she made it her own. I figured they had to do that because they knew they were going to pick her as the winner.

As far as the walk as "wind" I thought that was really cool. Nicole looked super awkward doing it but beside her and Brittany, the other girls looked great. Finally a concept on the runway that worked for the most part.
