This week the networks announce their fall TV schedules. I thought it would be nice to have a thread to post them as they are announced and discuss which shows we are looking forward to, which shows we aren't, and which shows weren't picked up for the new season.

Good thread. From the new shows, I'm most looking forward to "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip." Bradley Whitford, woo!

I'm not so sure about "Friday Night Lights." Excellent book, not so good movie. I wonder how well it will all translate to TV. I'll watch if only to see Kyle Chandler. I guess there was a good reason he got pink misted on Grey's Anatomy.

Still with the "ER"? How long can this show possibly go on?

Thanks, JayhawkAnne, for the info.

Ya' know, I used to like to watch NBC, but now, not so much. I hope the other networks have more to offer.

ElectraGlide, I know what you mean about ER. I used to never miss an episode and always watched back-to-back reruns in the a.m. Even though I like the actors on the show, I'm afraid its time has passed.

What's the name of Matthew Perry's new show? I love him so I'll watch it just to see whether it's crap or not.

Zoobabe, the new show is called Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip ... looks like ElectraGlide may be onto something. Will definitely have to check this out on NBC.

DONT be dishing on my ER now!! Yes, it has gone a bit dark these past few years but I still never miss it and LOVE it. We watch the daytime reruns (dvr of course). They started them from the very first episode this winter and we are into year 7 I think - you can watch the mood darken like a storm brewing but it still is awesome. I love the characters and after 11 years, its like you know each one of them personally.

I still think it is the best medical drama ever written and will watch it till they yank it off the air. Even if it stinks. Thats loyalty....I love me my ER!!

Unfortunately for NBC its about the only show they have on that is worth a damn...

Note the ballsy move from ABC - Grey's Anatomy moves from Sunday to THURSDAY!?!

Huh. Looks like Grey's will conflict with Studio 60. Now I have to get Tivo.

I haven't read through the new show descriptions yet. Most promising new development so far? "ABC Saturday Night College Football." Go Big 12!

Nice to see "How I met your mother" and "The new adventures of old Christine" are returning. Both are very good comedies. New adventures has a really old school feel to it.

"Jericho" - definitely seems interesting

Premise: A small town is cut off from the rest of the world after a nuclear disaster.

"Jericho" - definitely seems interesting

I'm looking forward to that one which means:

A) It will last one season and be cancelled
B) It just gets cancelled within the first couple of airings

Let's take a look at Network shows with interesting concepts (AKA The Lost Effect) from this season:

Threshold - Cancelled mid way
Surface - Cancelled after airing all their episodes
Invasion - Cancelled after the first season

So much for alien invasions...

LOST is going to start sometime in fall and run for 7 episodes, and then take a break and return around January or February.

From the article Firecat linked:

"It's a plight that 'Lost' fans know all too well -- You tune in on a Wednesday night praying for a new episode only to find a random repeat from nearly a season earlier, or else a lengthy and unexpected clip show. ABC is hoping to eliminate that experience."

This cracks me up. I don't know about the rest of you, but I generally know if the episode will be new or not before I "tune in on a Wednesday night." I'm not all, la-di-da, hey it's Wednesday night, I wonder if Lost is new this week?!

Anyways, I like the block idea better than new/nothing/repeat/clips/new crap schedule we got this spring. Lesser of two evils, I guess.

Firecat

lol...same here, I know the week before. Anyway, I was reading a different article a few weeks ago...Apparently LOST has gone down in ratings vs. 24 which has steadily increased in ratings. A possible explanation is that 24 runs non-stop and keeps the momentum going....the constant repeats of LOST may actually be hurting the show (ratings-wise).

Double L

Actually, since I try not to spoil myself I don't always read the TV grids to see if a show is new or not. So there's been several times I've been disappointed with some random 1st season episode and greatly disappointed when I knew it was a new episode and it turned out to be a horrible clip show!!!

But now I just turn to a new website: http://www.islostarepeat.com

Uh... it tells you if Lost is a Repeat... haha! But the block style is going to make everyone happy. Hell, I was confused with this week's episode. It flashbacked to 13 days ago... I didn't even remember that episode since it happened a couple months ago.

Thanks for the info but you only stuck to NBC's Schedule what about ABC and the other major networks but thanks again the only show that I recognized and really took the chance to watch was The Biggest Looser I loved that competition I'm going to loose weight and they give me incentive
