hee hee, the red sombrero is so funny looking!

After reading the comments posted to last week's PR recap, I was reminded that Macy's displays all the winning outfits in its windows. I work down the block so I checked it out after work & took some pictures which I'm unable to post on here, too big (despite having re-sized them, dammit)! I'll play around with them to see if I can create thumbnails. Well, that won't be helpful but in any case, it was cool to see the winning outfits----Vincent's 'Average Woman' win from a few weeks ago ddn't look that impressive--nice & well-made but not impressive or outstanding. I hate to admit that Giraffeneck's did look good (although I cannot fathom why a man would want to wear skin-tight pants, tucked into a knee-high boot, no less!) Micheal's hot pants win looked nice, Kayne's Ms Universe outfit ddn't look too bad either. Angela's outfit for INC looked pretty good, but Micheal's recycled outfit win ddn't look very impressive, on that hanger.

Jeffrey's dress was so wrong on so many levels. Nobody wanting couture would want anything slightly resembling that. I loved the ocmment about Laura's dress only needing shortning and a feather duster. The color and style of Kayne's dress was beautiful...not couture but beautiful. Uli's dress looked like everything else she had designed...just one color. Michael's dress looked fantatic after the bunny ears were turned down.

Vincent, Vincent, Vincent. Those sleeves were your downfall. Didn't fit and actually didn't resemble anything. I reallythought the way they were criticizing Kayne's that he would be the one to go, but once you saw Vincent's...horrid.

Didn't you love the way Vincent was sucking up to the French designer and then when they asked him what was hand sewn, he just glossed over the question and talked about the material.

I didn't like Jeffrey's dress either. I realized tonight that I just don't get him, but clearly the judges do. The only outfits I have liked from him so far were the recycled newspaper dress and his jetsetter outfit. This one looked like a mess to me, but I guess that's why I'm not michael kors or nina garcia. I also surprisingly liked Kayne's dress alot, but again, what do I know?

Part of me secretly thought that Vincent was going to somehow make it to the final 3. Mainly just because all the designers and models seem to be sticking together and Vincent and Jia have chosen eachother every time (and we already know Jia made it to the final 3). I'm actually going to miss him a little bit. He was at the top of his game tonight with all those comments about being turned on and getting off.

Looks like Laura is going to go a little nuts next week. I can't wait to see what happens.

Jeffrey's dress reminded me of a challenge from the first year where the designers had to design a new look for a rock star (can't remember her name... she had red hair if that helps). Those loose pieces of material on the back looked like bows that had come untied which made the dress look like it was for a little girl. And the pattern/color was just a weird choice.

I thought Kayne's was the most beautiful (that color was gorgeous) and I didn't think he went over the top on the bustier part.

I don't think I like this season very much. Not only did last season's contestants have better senses of humor, but I could see myself buying something from a collection made by any of the top 3. They always created beautiful, interesting things.

This season, everyone one left keeps making the same thing. Kayne is the tacky one, Jeffrey is the rock-n-roll one, Michael is the hip hop one, Laura is the reserved one. I don't know - they bore me. The only people I could see buying something from are Michael and Uli so I hope they make it to the top 3.

i hear ya, BSL, i won't miss that particular shit for a second!!! I ddn't care for his dress either, but forced to wear either his or Jeffrey's, I would've gone w/ Vincents as being the more wearable of the two. I agree that Jeff's dress was hideous, but I guess I can appreciate it's 'one-of-a-kindness', for people who look for that kinda thing. I really hate Jeffrey as a person, shudder to thnk of him as someone's father---hope he's not an asshole 2 his family as well. Such a rude prick.

JulieM & JBJS, i agree w/ u guys abt Kayne's dress---i ddn't think it was awful, & in fact, i thot it was more original, w/its use of the corset & the tying feature in the back. I thot the color of the skirt was pretty---but the judges hated the busy top---why? I ddn't thnk it was that bad at all, but maybe it looked really glittery & busy in real life?

Laura is starting to crack---her dress looked like it was borrowed from the Renaissance age & stood out, but in a bad way. Boring & ugly & designed exclusively with Cruella DeVille in mind.

Uli's dress was better, but not much better than anything she's done in the past. The best out of this challenge, however. I'm rooting for Michael but worried abt his offering this time---the color was pretty, the rouching (sp?) had potential but the end result was lacking---poorly fit or cut prom dress.

Regarding Michael's poorly-sewn dress: in real life, how important is it for a designer to be able to sew? Don't they just design the dress and then have minions sew it for them? Just wondering...

Good point Jampony. And at least Michael was getting into the spirit of couture and actually hand sewing even though he had no experience with it. Risky on this show but still, I think the judges understood hand sewing something in 2 days would be hard.

And really, who would know if Jeffrey's dress was hand sewn? It was so freaking busy you wouldn't even be able to tell.

i totally agree about vincent's "it got me off" comments. gross you are almost 50 buddy.

Uli's dress reminded me of Santino's dress for Nikki Hilton last season. Similar color, similar long braids dangling down, similar top. I liked it.

Vincent and his 'insane' sleeves. I guess his blatant ASS-KISSING didn't help him one bit. His parting comments about how he Got Off. He should have spent his 401K money on a Jack Shack and a shit load of fabric...ewww.

I cringed when MK told Kayne that his middle name should be "Too Much"...ouch.

Laura's dress was not up to her normal standards...being preggers and working his show has got to be a bitch.

Michael --- I love Bunny Ears. No Easter candy for you Heidi! And who throws eggs at people in gowns? Mon Dieu.

The winner (PukeHead) was cotton plaid, Statue of Liberty, tub of butter yellow that looked like a picnic tablecloth my Aunt Bernice had! I loved hating Santino last year because he was funny-mean. PukeHead is just a bitter, ex-junkie who gets his kicks by being a self-centered asshole.

But as couture, it works. A lot of the couture fashion shows have similar styles...outrageous patterns, wild color combos, bird cages on heads as accessories, et al. Jeffie's dress would work in that world. (See how metrosexual I am today?!)

I do fear for Laura...the hours are killer and with the baby and all, I'm guessing she may voluntarily drop out. Last season's 12 peice collection nearly killed the designers. Chloe was a zombie. Imagine if Laura got to the finals--she couldn't do it standing on her feet for 16 hours at a time.

I agree w/ Whawha (& I applaud your metrosexualness today! ;) ) Jeffrey's dress, while repulsive to many & unwearable by most, has what the others don't----that one-of-a-kind, hard to find quality. I think that is partly what makes it couture. It is also unlikely that you might show up at a fashionable party & find some1 else wearing a remotely similar dress. I personally wouldn't be caught dead within feet of that thing, but someone braver than i might not mind looking as if they smacked into a freshly-painted, yellow NYC taxi, rolled in the ground to collect dirt & then shred the dress in the process!

So I signed up for the text messages from Bravo at the beginning of the season, so now every night that PR is on, I get 3 or 4 text messages throughout the show with some inside comments from the designers. I thought I'd share with everyone.............

Uli Text: "I was so upset when we got this challenge! I thought - oh no- Not another dress! That's the last thing the judges want to see from me."

Jeffrey Text: "My Paris model was REALLY nervous. She was shaking so much that I accidentally stuck her with a pin! I had to hold her still."

Vincent Text: "I'm not an ego guy, but nothing else came NEAR my gown by far. It rocked the world. It didn't matter I got ousted."

So there you go.... I'll post the texts weekly for y'all. :)

I was laughing so hard until my son said..."Mommy, whatsa whore?"

Vincent could not get any creepier.

Jeffy's dress, I'm serious about this...I've got a call into my sister who I think has the tablecloth from my parents house when we were younger. If she has it, I'll take a pic and post it...or make a dress out of it.

Thank God for TVgasmers.

I thought I had a terrible sense of fashion because I actually like Kayne's dress (does anyone else want to say Kanye when they see his name, or is that just me?).

Michael's dress looked so much better with that bullshit tucked in. It was like a whole new dress!

Jeffrey Text: "My Paris model was REALLY nervous. She was shaking so much that I accidentally stuck her with a pin! I had to hold her still."I bet that she'd have stopped shaking if he'd stepped away from her...far, far, far away.

I loved Kayne's dress.

Loved the fabric of Jeffrey's, but hated the dress itself.

Laura's dress was 'eh'...seemed like nothing new or inventive. I still love her, though

Poor, poor Michael...lovely fabric, some good ideas...poorly executed, and with eggs tossed on it no less, and it might have been helped SOMEWHAT if his model wasn't built like a 10 year old boy.

Vincent? Not terribly sorry to see him go (though I still remember fondly his interactions with Uli's mom), and his dress was fairly ugly...he also put in pathetic effort while all throughout bragging about his expertise in haute couture. Glueing?? C'mon.

Uli's dress was lovely, the color was beautiful, and it was at least SOMEWHAT different than her other dresses.

I think that Catherine Malandrino is obnoxious, but I wouldn't have blamed her for "accidentally" pushing Vincent overboard. And, I googled her today & as much as I hate to admit it, it looks like she designs beautiful stuff.

Krizzatch, I love your picture! Great movie, great scene...and I love it when his mom tries putting the soap into her mouth afterwards

I heard yesterday, BTW, that Vincent and Jeffrey tried getting two of the young models to come up to their room after the boat, but the ladies never showed up. Vincent was going on & on about how he was married (and Jeffrey's got a live-in GF), but he liked young girls (I guess they "get him off"), and how he loved Catherine Malandrino but she was 'too old' for him. Gah, what a pig. I'll try to find the link to the interview...

I no longer care how charming and sweet he was to Uli's mom, he's now dead to me.

Now remember, this is fucknutty Vincent who made the comment. I get the sense that Jeffy is committed to his family, based on interviews. Vincent reminds me of the type of guy that includes all other people in his supposed adventures (whether they were involved or not), to make it seem more acceptable. So him saying that he and Jeff were going to bring girls up to their room might mean Vincent wanted to. Just my take.

And what's with him referring to himself in the third person? TheSvan wants to know!;)

I think for me, there is two different kinds of hate here. Jeffrey is just plain mean. He has probably been a bully all his life. The guys liked him because he was mean and they could live vicariously through him. He did all the bully work for them.

Vincent is just plain sick. He's so auf his gourd that he doesn't have a clue. As I said above, he is a legend in his own mind. You know when you see really ugly people on a show that think they are God's gift to the earth...Vincent is like that. Me, I have the sense to admit that I'm overweight, never been attractive andhave no problems admitting that. There are just those delusional people who think they are something which they will never be. Investors...ha ha ha. I'm so sure. He's just plain crazy.

You're rite, jenny, I could see that happening, too. In fact, that would make most sense, you'd hafta be pretty wacked out yourself to be with some1 like that! I know it's editing & maybe he's a different person at home, a good dad, etc, but it's really hard 2 pick that from any of the episodes. Nothing abt the episodes tells me he's a warm, loving guy. Just when he cried a little when Robert was booted (& that's probably only b/c he was on the line that time as well, his ass came w/in seconds of being auf'd).

Thanks whawha...my ego needed that.

What I have always said about myself is that though I will never travel down the runway in any beauty contest, I have a damn good personality. I just wish people would get past the looks. I used to just die when I went to clubs with my friends and would never get asked to dance...just wanted to scream...hey, I dance well and I can carry on a conversation, but nuffin! Then one night a guy tapped me on the shoulder, so as usual, I tapped my friend and the guy said...No silly, you. We dated for five years.

The day before I married my husband, my mother asked me why I loved him so much and I told her that it was because he really believed that I was the most beautiful woman in the world. Okay sappiness over.

Jeffie is ugly through and through without a redeeming bone in his body. Vincent...ew. Unattractive and just plain weird. I can't remember the blond girl that got auffed, but she was very cute with a sweet personality. Heck, Santino was so unattractive it was scary, but gawd he was so hot because of his personality.

I completely agree. People that are beautiful outside but ugly inside are the biggest disappointments. And Jeffrey is just awful, you would think a guy with a weird neck tattoo would be a little more tolerant of other people's quirks.

Although I don't like Jeffrey and hope he is cut before the final 3, I think his dress was definitely the most "couture" of all of them. It's nothing a normal girl would ever wear, but his model looked great in it. And you could tell by her strut that she liked the dress.

And I like Laura, I think she's a hoot, but if she makes one more outfit with a plunging to the waist neckline, she deserves to be out.

I just love Michael, talk about being beautiful inside and out. He's a cutie, and super cool. :thumbup1:

Well, you lost me on this one. I found both him AND his personality repulsive.

I think I might resign myself to saying that I have bad taste. I loved Kayne's dress. My favorite part was the way the corset laces were at an angle, perhaps I need to get out more but I always have seen them up and down.

I like Michael's but will admit that it was a bit sloppier than the rest but he gets major kudos for the effort and acknowledging it wasn't his strong suit. I did like it better with the things tucked in but overall it had the potential to be a kick ass dress.

Uli and Laura....so what? Neither were exciting to me and I was a bit disappointed by that. But I do have to admit that Laura must have it rough with the pregnancy....I hope she can hack it because she is good.

Jeff...I didn't like it but I can see why the judges did, I can live with his win this time.

Vincent...thank the dear lord. This man is Creepy with a capital 'C'! And the dress...was he inspired by Scarlet O'Hara and her curtain dress, so he made a sofa dress? Please.
