I'm watching this right now b/c I heard that there was an animal emergency tonight (near and dear to my heart). Plus the GA cast is supposed to be on. I'll report back with the results.

Hmmm...I'm not sure whether I've been Punk'd or not, but it looked like he legitimately go bitten by a rattlesnake and had to deal with the consequences.
btw- it wasn't a zoo animal. It was one of those "educational" programs that try and pretend that the animal's best interests are at heart. I'll stop ranting now.

Preach it, zoobabe.
Some of those educational programs equal Billybob catching a possum in his dog pen.
I saw the previews of JK getting hurt, but I figured it was a joke with the GA cast coming on.

I don't know how they faked that though (unless the snake was not really a venomnous one). He (Kimmel) let out a lot of expletives afterwards, so if it was a joke- he played it well!
The chief "animal handler" on that show was Steve Martin- who is notoriusly known for using "trained" animals in the entertainment industry, and the other guy that came out with the binturong gave totally misleading information as to how "tame" they can become.
I hate that shit! Really- I'll stop ranting now.

I'm a primate keeper. We have gorillas, orangutans, chimps, bonobos, gibbons, baboons, and colobus monkeys. My faves are the bonobos.
where do you live in SC, H@W? I lived in Greenville for 10 years and worked at the zoo there.

In Florence, SC, but I lived in Greenville while I did my freshman year at Furman. You should know, you are the object of my envy. I would love, LOVE to work at a zoo, or in any capacity with animals, but I am held captive as my stepfathers office manager.
