Wow, I can't believe that there's no thread started for this yet!

Dammit, I missed Joey's performance. How was he? :crying:

I loved that some of the female contestants are real-looking women with healthy-looking bodies. Sara Evans, Vivica Fox, etc.

I've got to get all of the names straight & then I can come back and post some more :p

As much as I hate Jerry Springer, BTW, he was kinda endearing last night and almost likeable. But I still hate him...and I hated that female who went on & on about how she's the latest hot pop star. Who the heck IS she? I've never even heard of her!

Okay...I'll stop...more later! :coolshades:

I don't know who that girl is either. Joey did well. He looked good, but I wish he'd grow some hair.

Mario was really good.

I thought Jerry acted like a befuddled old fool.

Last night was the first time I'd ever watched the show (exxcept for a few vids of Drew) and I only saw half (due to Big Brother) but I liked it, at least I liked watching the celebs I liked :)

How does voting work.. I know it's half judges and half the people but since the people don't vote on a 1 to 10 system... how does that equal out?

I don't pay much attention to the details of how voting works on these sorts of shows, to be honest, because I know/believe that TPTB have tons of input and sway in regards to who wins and moves forward and is eliminated...

Because of this, I vote inconsistently and rarely (depending upon the show) and try not to get all that worked-up about the results (easier said than done )!

Anyway...okay, now I've got the run-down on who the contestants are (by name, anyway, even if I still don't know who they are or what they've done to be considered a 'celebrity/star') and who the dancers are:

Mario/Karina
Joey/Edyta
Willa/Maksim
Tucker/Elena
Jerry/Kym
Vivica/Nick
Shanna/Jesse
Emmitt/Cheryl
Harry/Ashly
Sara/Tony
Monique/Louis

Okay...work's been busy today and has been cutting into my personal computer time  I've finally got a few minutes to post more:

It was SO nice to finally see a professional athlete who could MOVE with rhythm and grace! After Evander and Jerry Rice, I was really starting to wonder about these guys...but then along comes Emmitt! The man can DANCE! Awesome. I have to say, we've got two good friends who are former pro football players, and neither of them are the smoothest guys off-field either.

I can't believe that Ashley (Ashly?) is still on this show, I think she's horrible. She's clearly not a very good choreographer or teacher. And I don't really enjoy watching her dance, either. And on top of that, she dresses badly (GASP!!!)...that fringed dress was AWFUL on her. It wouldn't have looked good on anyone, and it certainly did her no favors.

I wish they'd lay off on the sob stories...that turns me off, and really doesn't make me want to root for a specific person.

I continue to love Tom Bergeron. I love that he says whatever he wants (and often says what I'm sitting at home thinking and laughing about, but that most hosts would be to PC to actually say)...he's clearly not afraid of being fired!

The judges were seriously bitchy last night, weren't they?
Simon Cowell they ain't :coolshades:

Swear to God, I watched the final 10 minutes or so of last night's show just to see who was eliminated, and today I still kept thinking that Sara Evans was the one who'd been auf'd! Gee, Carrie Ann was rough on her, huh?

Tucker is completely forgettable

Back when I was dating a Dallas Cowboys fan and Emmitt Smith was still their runningback, I really liked him. I always thought he would be a nice guy if you met him in person...so I was happy to see he was going to be on this show. I was even happier when I saw that he can dance!

He's my favorite already...!

I'm with you...Emmitt's my favorite at this point (sorry Joey, maybe my opinion will change when I get to see you dance!)
