You mean you fell for his sentimental dad act? He's a hack, always was and always will be.
Last night's dancing wasn't very impressive. It seems most of them are getting worse not better. Sara was sorta sleepwalking through her routine while Vivica clomped through hers. Mario did a good job with his routine but none of them were WOW.

i couldnt tell if Monique was crying at the end of her dance because she was just emotional or because of the fact that fake Harry Hamilon had just drug/spun her across the floor like a million times and she probably had really really bad parkay floor-burn on her legs! i am going with the latter.
i thought Willa's dance was good. you could totally tell that her and Max are dating -every time the camera was on them they were staring into each other eyes or holding hands and then at the end of the dance he kissed her head. so busted!

Tink, You're so right about Jerry Springer. I almost fell for it, too. Then my husband called me a sucker and a hopeless romantic and I woke up :o
(Erm, I don't mean to be mean, but Jerry's daughter? Yipes! She really looks like her dad...and that's not a look that works for a woman, y'know?)
I really agree about people clomping and stomping and just walking around the floor last night during the dances. I mean, c'mon, haven't they ever seen the Paso or waltzes done in Strictly Ballroom? Honestly, though, once Joey took the floor you could see a difference immediately between his & the other dancers...he practically floated across the floor (although I didn't like the choreography of their dance all that much). And does he not seem like the nicest guy in the world? I just love him!
Mario's good, but I just can't stand the guy & have liked him less & less each week. His constant mugging and smirking really bug...and I don't care for his partner all that much, either.
I thought that Monique and Willa were 'okay', but Vivica's dance was just all wrong. The costume, the choreography, the music, none of it worked. And I think the judges were right that she'd do well to soften the edges a bit. Though I'm not sure the Paso was the right place to do that!
I saw Tom Bergeron on The Megan Mullally show this morning! He's adorable and funny. At the end, Jerry came out onto the stage and they staged a fake fight between Tom, Megan & Jerry...uggh. Sorta funny, sorta not. I guess the thing for me is that his show is so classless, so horrible for society (yes, I know that's a strong thing to say, but I believe it)...and yet he's now on DWtS touting his family pride? Hey, how about doing a show that's UPLIFTING to families and society? How about that Jerry? But I know that might not bring you the attention and money you obviously crave so badly that you're willing to sell your soul (and anyone elses) for it.

Do you think the women "grease" up the inside of their legs and such before they dance so they can slide across the floor? I was thinking PAM...

Yes, Jerry's daughter does look just like him. Poor thing. I, too, think his show is wretched.
Sarah's makeup looked like a mortician did it. That and her dress made me sure she was going trick-or-treating after the show.
Didn't anyone just die laughing when Len (the judge) told Willa, that just a few weeks ago she was a GNAT'S SCROTUM away from being eliminated.???
My husband and I were howling! That guy is a hoot.
Anyway, hated Vivica's dance and isn't her partner tanning up to be the same color as her? Sara shoe kept getting caught in her dress, poor thing.
Mario's dance was great. Jerry is working the sappy father card, big time.
But my fav is still Joey. He is a great dancer, and so appreciate to the judges. (and it doesn't appear fake)
WTF, Eva Longoria back with Mario? just after breaking it off with Tony???
Oh, I forgot - FIRE THAT BAND AND SINGERS!!! PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!

They really are. There was one song last night where I foolishly thought "Hey, this is actually sounding quite good! Maybe they're getting better!" But, no...
Anyway, I'm still recovering from that horrible Scissor Sister group from last week, so I'm not all that sorry that I'm probably going to miss most of tonight's show (I might just catch the final few minutes to see who gets eliminated).
So, I read elsewhere that Jerry's daughter had all sorts of birth defects...blindness, deafness, and something else...oh, missing nasal passages? Anyway, now I feel a LITTLE bit bad about what I said. :o
But, hey, she really DOES look a lot like daddy...there's no disputing that!
Hey Vivica, you self centered ego driven diva:
na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, good bye!!!:D

Awww, I didn't think she was that bad...and she certainly (IMO) danced better than either Jerry or Sara Evans, so for that alone I think she deserved to be there for at least another couple of weeks.
I think she handled her auf'ing with more grace and dignity than most, actually.
I'm sorry, that was catty of me wasn't it?

I don't care if he is playing the good dad card. Whenever there is a family get together my dad spends all night dancing with me, my mom and my daughter. They are the happiest moments of my life. Mr.Springer got on this show in an effort to learn the waltz FOR his daughters wedding. And he waltzed for her. Whether his is a crappy dancer or a sleazy talk show host is neither here nor there, he is making an effort for his child. That in my book makes him a hero. There are millions of dads out there who don't make any effort at all to do anything for their kids let alone risk public humiliation. He's got my vote.
ps-I have a slightly used soap box if anyone needs it.

That's exactly how I feel. The man has made a living off of showcasing the worst society has to offer. He puts together situations where people are encouraged to behave deplorably. The fact that he is still on this show sickens me.
Oh, I forgot - FIRE THAT BAND AND SINGERS!!! PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!
I loved it when the band destroyed that Phantom of the Opera song and during the judges said to Sarah something about not every singer can sing every song just like not every dancer can dance every style. It felt like a burn on the band and it was SO well deserved. They need the Rockstar House Band. Those guys can play ANYTHING.

Someone take pearl's soap box away - she just called Jerry Springer a hero.

Well, spill!!!!
I haven't read 'the blog' so I'm not sure what you're ref'ing to (one on the show's website?)...but I get a real metrosexual vibe from Joey, versus a 'gay' vibe. But, what did he say?
Ok, so I just read the blog and well...er....wadda ya mean Joey isn't gay!?!
Joey is married with child. He's not gay, he's just vain.

I know 2 guys who are gay but married to females and had children with them. One of the women knew going in and the other is still in denial.
I don't know (care) if Joey is or isn't gay but I do think that you're right Karo - he is way vain!

I don't care what his sexual orientation is but I am actually shocked that he is not gay. I truly thought he was.

This is one of Oprah's favorite topics lately - she had a couple shows last season about gay men in heterosexual marriages and one last week about gay women in heterosexual marriages - one couple broke up because the wife admitted she was gay, and 4 years later her ex-husband came out too.

The Corp. that I used to work for had an un-spoken, un-written un-tolerance for gays so there were quite a few closet hidders. My bestest friend who I met working there is a gay man and people always assumed we were a "couple"...I was a freaking beard. LOL!

I noticed how slim Joey and Mario are. They're still muscular, but have a slim build as far as their waist and hips go. so they really HAVE dancer's bodies which is why they look so good on the dance floor. i think it's harder for guys like Emmit to compensate for his size, even though he's in shape. I don't even know what to say about Willa. She gets the job done, the judges love her, but America could give a flying fuck about voting for her. She must give off a bad vibe b/c I only vote for Mario and Joey each week.

I'm such a skeptic about voting on these sorts of shows...I guess I just believe that they're producer-rigged anyway, so it really doesn't matter what anyone votes! And, some of these 'celebs' come with huge fanbases of people who will vote for them no matter HOW crappy a dancer they are, which is also frustrating.
If I'd actually voted, I would have voted for Vivica and Joey and also Monique.

I totally agree with you O.G. I never vote. I get crap because my activity causes spam. Bite me I pay the bill, with his money but I would never spend even a dolllar to vote here.
Even my 10 year old saw a bit and commented on the outfits. Bad outfits, bad musiic ... BEST SHOW EVER???
