Okay, I know that some of us have Tivo (myself included) and ffw through alot of commericals, but I feel that since this is a TV forum and I've noticed that lots of folks don't have Tivo I was wondering what everyone's favorite commericals were...
I'll start:
Men of the Square Table
Any SportsCenter commerical (currently the Crocodile Hunter one)
the Lebron James Nike Witness commercials
The Hilton Family commerical where the three folks all get up from their subway seat (proving hospitality)
I can't think of more, but those are my favorites right now. It might be because of my job but I love me some good advertising.

I don't have Tivo (yet) either. Maybe I'm prejudiced since it has been my computer since day 1, but I love the apple commericial with the kid from Ed and the the guy with the glasses who is a PC getting a virus.
That commercial, and pretty much any commercial with a dog in it gets my attention!

I have two that, I swear to you, somehow make me laugh every time as though I've never seen them before.
1. That citi spot with the sweet, glasses-wearing guy yelling his password - "FLUFFY!" - on the subway. And the one where he sets his kitchen on fire with the broom is good fun too. That actor is just so fabulous.
2. The Wash Mutual one where the guy can't tell a lie, and ends with him interrupting his poker buds: "Have you guys seen Steel Magnolias? I was bawling...so sad!"
ESPN spots are always great. Especially anything they do in the offices, with a mascot, or both. That new one where they rip of their suits a la NBA warmups? Love. (But thumbs down on scary phone guy.)
And that AmEx spot w/ Wes Anderson is pretty interesting, but I'm not sure yet whether I love it or hate it?

Looooovvvve the Washington Mutual ads. I like the one with the attorney who lies, but she finally starts telling the truth.
I think the citibank guy's password is BIGBOY. Still funny though.
I love the cell phone one with the guy getting down to the Foreigner song "Urgent". That guy is a spaz and I love it.

not a bad spot, but there's a huge continuity error in it. some shots when he's flinging the broom there's a bottle on the counter, some there's not. that kind of shit drives me crazy. and not just because i make commercials for a living. it's just sloppy.

My favorite commercial of all time still remains the "Not going anywhere for a while?" series from Snickers, the one with the guy who was obsessed with a Panda and had his coworkers trapped in an office and was all "pretty pretty dancing!" twirling a picture of the panda outside the door. Anybody remember that one? (Sometimes I think it is just me that does but man, I LOVED that ad.)
And I still love the "Wake Up with the King" Burger King ads - the guy in that giant king head still totally cracks me up.

My favorite commercial in the world is the "Iams" commercial with Casey.
picture if you will:
Casey is a golden retriever-
Scene one:
A very little golden retriever puppy running up the deck stairs in the back yard- a five year old (or so) girl running ahead of him saying "Come on, Casey- Come on Casey"- the dog following her running.
Scene two:
The dog is about 7 now the girl about 13- same seen running up the deck stairs, girl saying "Come on Casey- Come on Casey"
Scene three:
Old Casey is about twelve or thirteen now and she is home from college. Same scene but Old Casey is moving much slower not able to run up the stairs anymore. "Come on, Casey- Come on, Casey"
It is the biggest lump in your throat commercial ever. It frickin' makes me BAWL! And I have searched the internet for it and can't find it, still.

I remember that Iams commercial too! Just reading your post made me get a little teary eyed.
I also love those Advantix (sp?) commercials with the the puppies at summer camp. I can't get that damn song outta my head, "There ain't no bugs on me, there ain't no bugs on me. There may be bugs on some of you mugs, but there ain't no bugs on me!"

My commercial taste is strange. I love that commercial with the Japanese clones - think it's for ARP - and the wife wakes up to one of them saying "Sleepydoo" and she looks at the clone in bed beside her. Ever since that spot I've called my fella "Sleepydoo".
I also like the car commercial with the fairy that tries to change the car and ends up bouncing off the wall.
But one of my all time favorite commercials is that one for the nextel phones (I think) where the guys are all dancing until someone comes in to ask about the shipment, they answer his questions and go back to dancing in that really odd way. Cracks me up EVERY time.

Oh, I do love that one. And it's not even a very funny premise...but the timing is so good.
My new one is the Snapple White Tea spot with the guy that wants to know what white tea is, and they cut to a massive tea field and the little guy is talking about "bebe tea leafs." It's so random and sweet. "That's it?" "That's it."

Outback guy cracks me up as well- "I think I'll stick with 'Steak Man'".
The cable commercial where the guy and the girl meet in the driveway, welcome to the neighborhood, she has red hair and so does his mom, she's undressing in her room by the window and sees him on his roof, you know the one. Makes me laugh every time.
ETA- The new Pepto-Bismol commercial with the gang folks bustin' a move with their digestive issues.

Speaking of cell phone ones... the one where the guys are in the locker room post-golf outting and are going back and forth as to what features each has and the shorter guy goes "Well I've got crime deterrent" and whips the phone at the other guy causing the injured guy to say he's going to file a complaint...only to get whacked again with the phone...I crack up every time.

My son LOVES the Roaming Gnome commercials. He cracks up which makes me happy because he's usually a very solemn child. Thankfully, he and I share the same weird humor, so we enjoy the same things. :) But I wish they would do some new ones. I saw the funniest commercial tonight while watching the Mavs-Suns game:
It was some car commercial and they were interviewing these cartoon characters. And the one was like "it's not soft & fluffy enough" or something like that and they show a few other characters responding. Then they ask this cartoon monkey and he goes "It scares the f*ck out of me" (bleeped out) and the guys say "that's what we were going for"
I was laughing my ass off and had to rewind and rewatch a few times. Hi-larious.
I tried to find it, with no luck.
Other ones that always crack me up are the "It must be football season" ones. Where the guy at the checkout in the grocery store throws the pineapple. Or the lady straight up tackles someone in the store. Love them.

I was telling my friend ^ about this on the phone tonight. I hate commercials for restaurants where the animal being eaten is the spokesperson (animal). That commercial always grossed me out. I haven't eaten at a Quizno's since those commercials started airing. I couldn't stand to look at the commercial, but the singing always made me laugh (hmmm, sounds like this year's American Idol).
Chick110, I love the roaming gnome commercials, too. I think it's the hoity toity accent. Probably why I think Stewie from Family Guy is so frickin' hysterical.
How about all time favortes? Mine is from the 70s -- it's the Connect Four game where the girl gets four in a row and the boy doesn't see it so she says "Right here, diagonally" (and she pronounces it almost like they do in Harry Potter: Diagon Alley) and the boy puts his pathetic head in his hand and says, "Pretty sneaky, sis". I still use that phrase whenever someone pulls one over on me. Yes, I'm THAT much of a dork. I'll admit it.

My husband actually downloaded those little rat-things as a screensaver for awhile - he thought the "We love the suuuuubs" rats were hilarious...it got old very very fast.
Am I the only one who thinks that the roaming gnome voice for Travelocity is the same guy doing the Italian Trio commercials for Subway? They sound identical and now it bugs me...I used to like the gnome but Subway ruined it for me. Like Jon Lovitz can't come up with more than one accent??

Since the invention of the DVR I rarely watch commercials but the ones I love lately are the Credit Card Identity Theft commercials with the voice overs - they just kill me. I stop fast forwarding to watch them.
Also I miss the Sprint commercials from a couple years ago - "I said SHAMPOO, NOT SHAMU". or the one with Captain and Tenelle or Richard Simmons? (I dont remember the reference). Those were the funniest ever!
And the Bud Light Real Men of Genius commercials are so clever and silly. Just love em!!

I can also tell u what commer. i dislike ths days: can't stand the stupid Verizon ones w/ the guys who 'are on a mission to find out how people like using Verizon'. Also, don't know if Chase is an East Coast bank but there ads are annoying as hell, and corny 2 boot---the one w/ the girl who gets her 1st job, opens an acc't & stops 2 check her cell abt a check clearing while kissing her b'frnd, all while theme song to that Mary Tyler Moore show is playing, are enuff 2 cause me 2 scramble for the remote. humph!!

Another one I've liked lately is the Starburst commercial where one guy tosses a pack to another guy, but it falls in a barrel, so he tries to get it, but he ends up with his arms dissolved off, so the other guy tries.
The MTV Movie Awards commercial with Jessica Alba beating up paparazzi was pretty funny when I first saw it, too.
I also thought this thing http://www.shaveeverywhere.com/ (http://www.shaveeverywhere.com/) was funny. :p

ASG - that is too funny - I cant believe that commercial is on the Phillips website let alone, are they actually playing it on tv? the only thing that would make it better for me is if he showed you his half shaved back...too funny!
Thanks for the laugh this morning!

Does anyone remember the starburst commercial with the kid building a head out of starburst and showing it to his girlfriend/crush? It has the Lionel Ritchie song "Hello" in it - Classic
Did anyone else get choked up during the old Hallmark commercials they would play around Christmas? I am really not an emotional person, but these did me in for some reason

Did and still do, it's even become a running joke in my family.

Real men of Genius commercials are awesome. "Mr. Really Bad Toupee Wearer" is a personal fav.
There was a T-Mobile ad a while back with a guy who skulked around the neighborhood at night making calls and walks in front of a car, freezes in the headlights like a scared squirrel and the wife of the driver says "he's gone nocturnal".. loved it.
There was a a couple of pretty funny Dairy Queen commercials. One with a girl blindfolded, taste-testing a mochachino or something..she only gets one taste..they try to take it away and she tries to escape with it still blindfolded and plows into a plate glass window
one with a guy in his office eating a spicy chicken sandwich that is so spicy he starts breathing fire..sets some papers on his desk on fire..screams, causing more fire..setting off sprinklers etc
and the classic Terry Tate, office linebacker..too funny
This commercial was not funny, it kind of freaked me out. It's a sprite commercial where there is a guy laying on a table all wrapped up in plastic with a slice of a lemon and lime on each eye. Over the guy is a tube dripping sprite into his mouth and it is moved over to one of his eyes. The slice falls off and instead of an eyeball, they guy has a little mouth with nasty little teeth drinking the sprite. That is gross and totally weird, it kind of makes me not want to drink sprite.

Oh my gosh, I loooove this one!!!
Anyone know where I can watch this commercial, again??? Thanks much!
