Well since nobody has started a new thread for last night's episode I guess I will be the first....

Last night ROCKED! I love this show more and more every time I see it. I know we were all speculating last week about the marks and now we have confirmation that they come from HRG and his crew after they take the "heroes". It seems they are the good guys! I guess we all saw that coming too since they pushed so hard for us to think he was evil.

I thought we were getting a new hero but then SLICE! Sylar got her...poor Hiro, he was so smitten with her. And speaking of Hiro - where the hell is he!? We see he made it "back" because he's in that picture, but why didn't he return and when/where will he!?

I liked that Matt Parker got through to Teddy and they had their male bonding moment. I think that HRG is supposedly trying to teach these people to master their powers somehow, must be slow going for these 2. Eden's power must have something to do with getting people to do what she tells them, or that was the impression I got anyway.

Did I miss anything?

Mohinder the Dull scatters his Dad's ashes and then goes to his Dad's old office. His old g/f shows up and offers him an opportunity to work with her if he will leave all this 'voodoo' behind. Then Dull Mo has 3D dreams of his Dad and sees some kid who wants his soccer ball back. Mo's Mom tells him about a sister who died at the age of 5 who was special. Mo has another dream and this one is a doozy - he gets to watch his Dad get his head slammed against the Taxi window repeatedly (by Sylar?). Then that soccer kid shows him a key - the same key that was in one of Mo's Dad's little books. Mo uses the key and finds a folder labeled Sanjog, Iyer who seems to be the soccer boy in his dreams.

New girl - waitress at the Burnt Toast Diner in Midland, Texas who seems to be a walking talking Google. Hiro and Ando are at the same restaurant and a dude who seems to have telekinesis...at least with his coffee cup. Waitress and Hiro are having a Dinermance. But before anything could come of it the waitress is killed (top of head cut off style) and the cup mover/Sylar is gone. Hiro is really shook up and wants to use his ability to go back in time and try and save the waitress. Sidekick Ando tries to get him to stay focused on the Cheerleader but Hiro scrunches up his face and is gone. At the end we see a picture tacked up on the wall of the restaurant of Hiro and the waitress behind what looks like a cake...looks like proof Hiro catches up with her in the past.

Mind Reader Matt and the blonde 'WTF is going on around here' cop (who by the way kind of looks like that girl in Medium) find out that the Rad Man and Matt have the same two scratch marks. Turns out Rad Man was partying in Kansas - saw the bald Haitian guy - wakes up 2 days later in Arizona all nuclear powered. Matt tells him he also saw the Haitian and lost 2 days (I love it when men bond) but before they could go further Homeland Security busts in and takes away the "terrorist." Matt goes home and he and the wife have the talk about her cheating but before they can complete it Matt gets the call that Rad Man Ted has escaped.

Primatech Paper Co. is the front for HRG's ops. A dried out Isaac meets Cheerleader's Daddy and finds out that his cheerleader is Claire and that the bad guys name is Sylar. HRG needs Isaac to paint the next picture before tomorrow night when Claire's homecoming takes place and Sylar kills her. Something I did not expect was to see HRG become human and tell us about his love for his Claire Bear...and not the creepy love but the real caring kind. Damn - I got a little verklempt! Speaking of the Cheerleader - she shows up needing some BIG paper and luckily Dad's in the Paper Biz. Well, as Claire is getting her sheet Pixie chick gets reminded that HRG saved her once and she owes him Big Time. Pixie Chick whispers in Isaac's ear before she gets ready to shoot him up. Hmmm - seems Pixie's ability is to talk people into things they don't want to do. Isaac's eyes roll up in his head and he off and painting.

I love this show!

Did I miss anything?

Just three years in the title of the thread (11/13/03) :)

I'm thinking the annoying pixie has the "power" to influence given that she whispered in Isaac's ear and he complied with the heroin use.

Was that kid Mohinder's sister? If not, who the hell was that?

Do you think Sylar hears about people having newfound abilities or can he sense them? If so, why didn't he go after Hiro? His power is much more interesting than super memory.

The fact that they focused on Sylar's watch twice during the show (at the diner and during the vision of Mohinder's father's death) has got to be significant. Either that's just how we are supposed to recognize him or there is some plotline involving the watch on the way?

I also think the watch means something....especially since he was wearing a BROKEN watch. When he smashes Mohinders dads head against the window the watch breaks...in the diner it is the same broken watch...hmmmmm.

I want influence girls powers.....insert evil laugh here.

I am such a spaz....thanks for the heads up.

I thought the kid with the soccer ball was a boy. I can't remember what the name on the file said, but for some reason I guess I just ass-umed it was Mohinder as a boy!? Was that a girl!?

Does anyone else slo-mo the previews to look for stuff and if I talk about that kind of thing is it considered a spoiler?

His sisterwas 5 when she died so I don't think that was her - plus Papa Suresh had a folder on the kid, so I think it was someone else. O don't remember the name either but it wasn't Mohinder. And does this dreaming thing mean that Mohider has powers too? P.S. He looked HOT in his funeral outfit, goodness. White is his color.

I don't understand what Hiro and Ando were doing in Texas? Isthat how you go from Vegas to NY or am I missing something??

Next week looks so freaking fantastic!!!

thx for the recap, HB, cleared up a lot for me b/c I was cooking during the 1st 20 mins of show so I missed parts. This is only the 3rd episode I've watched so I'm constantly trying to catch up. I was confused abt the dream soccer kid, assumed it was a boy, but upon hearing the tale abt Mo's little sister, I wondered if that was meant to be her. But I agree, soccer kid is too big, and seemingly, a boy. The info about the name on the folder helped a great deal. Guess Mo's dad learned about little Iyer and was following his development/case?

I think Matt's blonde partner (the 'WTF-is-going-on-around- here', as christened by HB) looks very familiar, I think I remember her on an episode of 21 Jump Street, anyone else? (the one where her character is depressed and ends up killing herself on a roller coaster while Depeche Mode played in the background? I still remember that episode b/c that character shared a kiss w/my Johnny D, i was so jealous!) The Pixie girl also looks very familiar. So did the waitress---just remembered her from 'Red Eye'.

Was there no Nikki/DL/son in this episode, or did I just miss them?

Sybil Woman wasn't in the show this week.

I want to like Mohinder. I really do. He is a very handsome man with a great accent. But ooooh boy, were his segments boring. However, now it looks like he has a power, something that manifests in his dreams. It helps explain Bland Younger Brother Boy's dream of his girlfriend's father when he died. He was with Mohinder earlier, and absorbed his power.

I do hope Super Hiro is able to save Memory Waitress Woman's life. She was really sweet and likeable. If not, we got a chance to know her, which makes this the first murder committed by Sylar that really gives us an emotional connection to his victim.

I know this could be a long shot, but do you think the little boy is Sylar? His name is similar and the file could be old? Just a thought.

I think it was weird that Nikki/DL/Micah were not in this episode, at least in the begining.

Man this show is awesome!

That's a good theory, minda07, but I'm not sure if it is, only b/c I read a mini-spoiler in the comment section of NBC website abt the actor who will eventually appear to play Sylar and that actor is Caucasian (unless he only does Sylar's voice, or never shows up onscreen?) The best part abt ths show is trying to guess at what the connections or clues may be!

My DVR cut off the last minute or 2 of the show last night, I was PISSED! A couple of things: first of all, I'm not sure if Isaac really did shoot up or not. I don't know what Pixie girl's power is, but we never actually see him shooting up, so maybe there is something else she did? Also, I'm curious about her now, are we gonna have an episode that tells her story a little?

I wonder if its possible that Mohinder's sister is still alive, somewhere out there? I started thinking all these crazy thoughts, maybe its Claire, or maybe its Eden... but they're not Indian, so... guess not :P

And I was thinking about Hiro a lot too, just trying to make sense of his power. When future-Hiro shows up in the subway to talk to petrelli, he gives him a message that is clearly going to change the future. By telling peter about the "save the cheerleader save the world" thing and telling him his own name so that he can find Present-Hiro, he is changing the future... so this must mean that time is on a constant loop--otherwise, by going back in time to give peter that message, he may be eliminating his future self. I know this sounds totally confusing, but does anyone get what I'm saying?

Man, this show is so good.

You give great recap HB.

The waitress in the diner was so cute, and she and Hiro made such an adorable couple. I hope he makes it back in time to save her. I wonder why they had him go in the bathroom at the same time she was murdered.
Hiro and Ando are in Texas to save the cheerleader, right?

This show does not disappoint.

As a loooong time science fiction fan, let me welcome you to the world of time travel paradoxes. :)

It actually made sense. She went to the back to get some work done, so that was a good time for him to go to the bathroom, and Sylar may know that he has powers so could have waited for him to leave before he acted. Plus it gave them a chance to see Hiro come out of the bathroom as his happy old self amongst all the grimness, then show his reaction.

Clea Duvall, Matt's WTF-is-going-on partner is from a LOT of movies.. but her roles are always forgettable. I remember her most from She's All That (snobby artsy girl) and Girl, Interrupted. She was also in The Faculty. Go IMDB her - she's been in tons of things.

And you're right.. no Nikki/DL/Micah/Jessica this ep. Which I'm a little bit disappointed about.. but this is just setting up the story for next week's ep.

Am I the only one that is completely bored with most of Matt's storyline? As well as Mohinder's? Just give me Hiro and some Claire Bear, a little Nikki and Micah, I'm pretty much good.

I'm getting REALLY bored with Mohinder...it's like,,,,get a friggin clue already!... Also...Matt needs to leave the selfish wife. I honestly think she won't be in the show much longer...Hey!....maybe she'll be killed by Sylar!....not for powers but out of pity for MATT!...tee hee...just a thought.

I was with minda07; I thought the kid must be Sylar, and the file was on him. But based on tati's info, that may be wrong.

Wow...least politically correct superpower EVER... unless there was someone with a superpower that "turns" people gay or straight. Could you save the world with that? Fantastic episode this week. The storylines are really coming together, I can't wait until Monday. So Eden seems to have a persuasive power, I guess? And how many heroes are there do you think? Mr. Bennett said that the thing with Claire's parents was 14 years ago. I think that Mr. Bennett might not exactly be evil, but he ain't exactly a good guy, either. And what happened to Hiro? Do you think that he'll come back 'changed', like more of the badass hero from the future?

According to the picture in the diner, it looked like Hiro came back looking like the cute innocent Hiro - not the badass Hiro. Yet.

I also thought it said Syler at first.
But who knows.

And I noticed - the second time they show Sylar in the diner, he doesn't have his watch on

Has anyone noticed the subliminal advertising for Heroes that NBC is doing?
I was watching something, and there was a promo for Las Vegas, and at the end was the whispered voice saying "save the cheerleader". I started hearing it during promos for alot of NBC shows. Weird.

I've been thinking about this, and I've decided that being able to change other people's race, gender and/or sexual orientation would be an incredible superpower. You know it would freak the shit out of the other superheroes. And you could mess with bigots.

It may become my superhero "if I could have any power" of choice, formerly the ability top always win at rock, paper, scissors.
